WCLY (1550 AM; "The Buzz") is a radio station located in Raleigh, North Carolina. It is owned by Capitol Broadcasting Company along with sister radio stations WRAL-FM, WCMC-FM and WDNC, and television stations WRAL-TV and WRAZ-TV. Its studios are located in Raleigh, and the transmitter tower is just south of downtown Raleigh. Established in 1962 as WNOH, WCLY broadcasts a sports radio format, simulcasting sister stations 620 WDNC and 99.9 WCMC-HD2.

Dix Hill is the informal name for a high, rolling expanse of land and national historic district located at Raleigh, North Carolina. The district encompasses 18 contributing buildings, 1 contributing site, and 3 contributing structures. It includes notable examples of Colonial Revival, Bungalow / American Craftsman, and Stick Style / Eastlake movement architecture. The Dorothea Dix Hospital, a historic institution caring for the mentally ill, was located on the site. The hospital buildings were developed between about 1856 and 1940.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.Dix Hill is referred to in David Sedaris's novel Naked. It also appears in James Hurst's short story "The Scarlet Ibis" (first published July 1960 in The Atlantic Monthly).

The Dorothea Dix Hospital was the first North Carolina psychiatric hospital, located on Dix Hill in Raleigh, North Carolina, and named after mental health advocate Dorothea Dix from New England. It was founded in 1856 and closed in 2012. The site is now designated as Dorothea Dix Park and serves as Raleigh's largest city park.

Mount Hope Cemetery is a historic African-American cemetery and national historic district located at Raleigh, North Carolina. It was established about 1872. The approximate total number of monuments in the cemetery is 1,454, although interment records list over 7,000 individuals. Notable contributing resources include the W. H. Matthews (1828–1902) mausoleum, the front entrance gates and gate posts (c. 1930s), and the garden cemetery landscape design.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

Downtown South is a proposed 140-acre (57 ha) real estate development by Kane Realty located to the south of downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. Anchored by a soccer stadium and VR center, the US$2.2 billion project could feature as many as 23 high-rise structures with office, residential, hotel, and retail spaces. The first phase is expected to start construction in 2023 with the construction of a 24-story apartment building and 27-story office tower. Later phases could include buildings as tall as 40 stories.In the event Raleigh wins the bid for the 2029 World University Games, it is likely that some events will be hosted at the Downtown South development. In addition, office space, hotel space, conference rooms, and the VR facility may be used for supporting infrastructure.

Raleigh Water Works and E.B. Bain Water Treatment Plant is a historic water works complex located at Raleigh, North Carolina. The original section was built in 1941, with additions made about 1946–1947, and in the 1960s. The complex includes the shell of the original one-story, brick pump house (1887 with 1923 alterations); the one-story, brick filter house (1887); and the Art Deco treatment plant (1939-1940) with adjacent settling basins. The main block of the treatment plant is a three-story, three-bay wide mass topped by a hipped, battened metal roof, with flanking stepped back two-story sections. Also on the property are three storage reservoirs for treated water, dating from 1887, 1940 and the 1950s.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

Washington Magnet Elementary School is a historic school and building located at Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina. It was built in 1923-1924 to serve African-American students in Raleigh and is now a magnet elementary school.

Boylan Heights is a historic neighborhood in Raleigh, North Carolina. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places as a historic district on July 29, 1985. It is also one of six local Historic Overlay Districts in Raleigh. Boylan Heights has been explored in the book Everything Sings: Maps for a Narrative Atlas by resident and critical cartographer Denis Wood, which maps the neighborhood in unusual ways. In the introduction to the book, Wood writes that these maps explore "other ways of thinking about [Boylan Heights] . . . as some sort of community, or as a marriage of community and place, or as those people in that place, their relationships, and their ways in the world . . . a life process." Maps include the location of jack-o'-lanterns on porches, radio waves permeating the air, the light from street lamps, and other attributes of Boylan Heights that cannot be mapped in a traditional way.The national historic district encompasses 252 contributing buildings and was developed between about 1907 and 1935. It includes notable examples of Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, and Bungalow / American Craftsman style architecture.Its name was used for the 1987 album Boylan Heights by The Connells. There is a restaurant named after the district in The Corner neighborhood of Charlottesville, Virginia.

Vernon Malone College and Career Academy (VMCCA), is one of the flagship schools of Wake County Public School System. It is an application-based early college in Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. The building was formerly a Coca-Cola bottling plant before being renovated to its current configuration.: It was first opened in 2014 as a career and technical education institution focusing on college and career readiness. It has six programs offered to students through Wake Technical Community College which include; Biopharmaceutical Technology, Cosmetology, Multi-Trades/Facilities Technology, Nurse Aide, Simulation and Game Development, and Welding. The school is formally a part of the Wake County Public School System. Their official mascot is a Silverhawk.

Central Prison is a prison operated by the North Carolina Department of Public Safety in Raleigh, North Carolina. The prison, west of Downtown Raleigh, is on 29 acres (12 ha) of land and is bounded by a double wire fence with a razor ribbon on top. The Department of Public Safety website describes the original building as "castle-like."

Montfort Hall is a home and registered historic landmark located in the Boylan Heights neighborhood of Raleigh, North Carolina. It is one of the few mansions in Raleigh that survived during the American Civil War era. The house was built for William Montfort Boylan in 1858 and is an example of Italianate architecture. The centerpiece of the house's interior is a rotunda supported by four Corinthian columns and lit by a stained glass window located on the roof. Montfort Hall was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 as Montford Hall and is a Raleigh Historic Landmark. The building is currently being developed into a 10-room boutique inn.

The Red Hat Amphitheater (formerly the Raleigh Amphitheater) is an amphitheatre in Raleigh, North Carolina. It is adjacent to the Raleigh Convention Center. The Raleigh Amphitheater books acts through an agreement with Live Nation, and is owned and operated by the City of Raleigh. The Amphitheater’s season currently runs from April through October. Capacity is 5,990: 1,800 fixed seats; 2,700 movable seats; and lawn space for 1,000.The venue's name has changed several times during its construction and first few months of operation. Plans to accept $300,000 from the local Budweiser distributor to name the venue the Bud Light Amphitheater fell through when the North Carolina Alcohol Control Board refused to grant an exception to rules which disallow naming rights for public facilities to be sold to alcohol manufacturers. On September 4, 2012 Red Hat struck a deal with the City of Raleigh for naming rights to the amphitheater. The company paid the city $1.175 million for the deal.
