Varappuzha, IPA: [ʋɐɾɐːpːuɻɐ], (also known by its former name Verapoly) is a northern suburb of the city of Kochi. It is a census town in Paravur Taluk, Ernakulam district in the Indian state of Kerala. Situated around 15 km (9 mi) from the city centre and 8 km (5 mi) from Edapally, the areas lies in the NH 66 connecting Vytilla with North Paravur. Its specialty is that considerably large-scale paddy cultivating area is situating western part of Varapuzha which is called Devaswompadam, specialised with Pokkali paddy cultivation and interim crop as fish cultivation locally called 'Kettu'. The common work of the natives are fishing and agriculture. Varapuzha is known for its fish market (Chettibagam market). The Varapuzha Bridge (Near Historical Varapuzha Island) connects Varapuzha (Mannantturuthu) with the neighboring Cheranallur.

The people here mainly rely on agriculture. Panayikulam is well known for the cultivation of Snap Melon (Pottuvellari). Panayikulam is home to a lot of Non Resident Indians.

Alangad is a village located in Paravur Taluk of Ernakulam District in the Indian state of Kerala. It lies almost in the middle of North Paravur and Aluva. The Kochi city is 15 km away from Alangad.

Veeranpuzha വീരന്‍പൂഴ is a lake in Kochi, Kerala, India. It is the northern extension of Vembanad Lake. From Kochi Azhi to Munambam Azhi, the Vembanad lake is popularly known as "Veeranpuzha". In the early 1980s there were regular ferry services from Munambam to Ernakulam. The area has large paddy fields devoid of human habitation. Non-availability of fresh water is a reason for lack of dense human settlements. Veeranpuzha was also known as Kadakkarakkayal കടക്കരക്കായല്‍

Kadamakkudy Islands is an island suburb of the city of Kochi in the Indian state of Kerala. It is situated around 8 km (6 mi) north of the city centre.

Thiruvaloor Mahadeva Temple is situated in Thiruvaloor kara of Alangad Village, in Ernakulam district. This temple is listed among the famous siva temples in Kerala, India. The idol here is believed to be an Agni Pratishta, i.e., with Lord Siva's third eye open. You can see the pond situated in east direction of the temple in line with the idol, in sree kovil. It is believed that this is because, the fire( agni) emitting from the idol can be harmful to people. In order to smoothen that effect the pond is constructed in that way. The other idol in the temple is Lord Ganapati. Also as a subsidiary of Thiruvalloor Mahadeva Temple, Keezhanikavu is situated very next to the temple, having Vishnu, Bhagavati and Nagas as idols.

Kothad is an island near Kochi surrounded by river Periyar. It is a part of Kadamakkudy grama panchyath, Kanayannur Taluk, Ernakulam District in the Indian state of Kerala.

Eloor is a municipality in the Ernakulam district of Kerala, India. It is an industrial area situated around 13 kilometres (8.1 miles) north of the Kochi city centre, and is a part of the Kochi metropolitan area. It is an island of 14.21 km2 formed between two distributaries of river Periyar and is the largest industrial belt in Kerala. The neighbouring places of Eloor are Kalamassery industrial hub, Aluva, Cheranalloor and Paravur.

Pathalam is a suburban region of the city of Kochi, in the state of Kerala, India. It is situated close to Eloor, an industrial district of Kochi. In the state bureaucratic administration, Pathalam is part of the Paravur Taluk in the District of Ernakulam. Pathalam Junction is a four-way junction having access to places like Kalamassery NH47 (2 km away), Eloor(1 km), N.Paravur (14 km away). There is an ESI hospital in Pathalam.

BSES Kerala Power Limited is an independent power producer incorporated on 4 April 1996. It was established as a joint-venture by Bombay Suburban Electricity Supply (BSES) and Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation Ltd (KSIDC). In December 2006, the Reliance Infrastructure bought stake in KSIDC and thus BSES Kerala Power became a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Infrastructure. The company is engaged in the activity of power generation. It operates one naphtha based Combined Cycle power plant at Udyogmandal, Kochi.
