Illkirch-Graffenstaden

Château Klinglin is a château in the commune of Illkirch-Graffenstaden, in the department of Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France. Built in 1735, it became a Monument historique in 1970.

The canton of Illkirch-Graffenstaden is an administrative division of the Bas-Rhin department, northeastern France. Its borders were modified at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Ostwald (French pronunciation: ​[ɔstvalt]; Alsatian: Oschwold) is a commune in the Bas-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France.

The Château de l'Île is a former castle in Ostwald, France, which is now used as luxury hotel. The present building was built in 1891 by the entrepreneur Léonard Heydt (1829–1901), who also served as the mayor of Ostwald from 1861 until his death. It re-employs elements of a previous castle from the early 17th century, which had probably replaced an even earlier castle (the first mention of a castle in Ostwald dates from the year 1226). The Renaissance elements of the 17th-century castle were integrated into the Neo-Renaissance designs commissioned by Heydt, who called his property by the German name of Schloss Inselburg (literally: "Castle Fortress-on-the-Island"), since Alsace was part of the German Empire in 1891. The French name of the castle translates as "Castle of the Island", since the grounds are indeed surrounded by a small lateral arm of the river Ill. In 1918, the castle was bought by the Darbois family and used as a tea factory (Les thés du château de l'Île) starting in 1921. It was abandoned in the late 1960s, with the end of the Darbois's business, and stood empty until 1991, when it was bought by Pierre Traversac of the luxury hotel group Les Grandes Étapes Françaises. Traversac added lateral wings in the local half-timbered architectural style and the hotel opened in 1994.

The International Space University (ISU) is dedicated to the discovery, research, and development of outer space and its applications for peaceful purposes, through international and multidisciplinary education and research programs. The latter include an itinerant nine-week Space Studies Program (SSP), a five-week Southern Hemisphere SSP in partnership with the University of South Australia, a 6-week Commercial Space graduate certificate in partnership with the Florida Institute of Technology, and one-week Executive Space Courses in Australia, Europe and the USA.The International Space University Central Campus and global headquarters are located in Illkirch-Graffenstaden near Strasbourg, France. ISU was founded on the "3-Is" philosophy providing an Interdisciplinary, Intercultural, and International environment for educating and training space professionals and post-graduate students. As of April 2020, there were over 5000 ISU alumni from 109 countries. In November 2017 the International Space University hosted a conference in Strasbourg that led to the formation of the Moon Village Association. The ISU faculty members include astronauts, space agency leaders, space engineers, space scientists, managers, and experts in space law and policy comprising an international collection of experts in technical and non-technical space-related fields.The Chancellor of the International Space University is Pascale Ehrenfreund, Chair of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) Executive Board and President of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF). She was preceded by Apollo astronaut Buzz Aldrin, who succeeded then–European Space Agency Director-General Jean-Jacques Dordain and acclaimed science fiction author Arthur C. Clarke, in 2004. The sixth President of the International Space University is Juan de Dalmau who succeeded Prof. Walter Peeters, in September 2018.

The French École supérieure de biotechnologie Strasbourg, also called European School of Biotechnology, Strasbourg (ESBS) is a scientific college situated in Illkirch (Greater Strasbourg). It was founded in 1982 as an autonomous institute within the University of Strasbourg and offers an international biotechnology program. In the year of 1988 the ESBS signed a convention on founding the European Confederation of the Upper Rhine Universities (German: Konvention zur Gründung einer Europäischen Konföderation der Oberrheinischen Universitäten, EUCOR), an initiative established by Professor Werner Arber, a Nobel Prize Laureate (Medicine) and Principal of the University of Basel, Switzerland. This makes it one of the Écoles Européennes des Universités du Rhin Supérieur (German: Europäische Schulen der Oberrheinischen Universitäten). Within the framework of this cooperation, the ESB Strasbourg is funded by: the Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany the University of Basel, Switzerland the University of Strasbourg (formerly Université Louis Pasteur, responsible for administration of the ESBS), France

The Musée "Les secrets du chocolat" ("Museum of Chocolate Secrets") is a museum in Geispolsheim, France, devoted to the subject of chocolate. The museum is about 10 minutes from downtown Strasbourg. The museum is entered through a small courtyard with storefronts that copy the style of Paris in the day of the Marquise de Sévigné. There are various areas that explore different themes, a demonstration workshop, a conference room where seminars can be held and a restaurant. The exhibits and media describe the history of use of cocoa beans, starting with the Aztecs. It describes the process of making chocolate, and describes who the Marquise de Sévigné was and how she was connected with the Marquise de Sévigné brand of chocolate. Children aged 5–12 can learn in the discovery workshop.

Lac du Baggersee is a lake in Bas-Rhin, France. The French name is a tautology as See already means lake in German.

Graffenstaden station (French: Gare de Graffenstaden) is a railway station serving the industrial zone of Geispolsheim, close to the commune of Illkirch-Graffenstaden, Bas-Rhin department, France. The station is owned and operated by SNCF, in the TER Grand Est regional rail network and is served by TER trains.

The Bruche (French pronunciation: ​[bʁyʃ]) is a river in Alsace, in north-eastern France. It is a left-side tributary of the Ill, and part of the Rhine basin. It is 76.7 km long, and has a drainage basin of 720 km2. Its source is in the Vosges, at the western foot of the mountain Climont, near the village of Bourg-Bruche. It flows through the towns Schirmeck, Mutzig, Molsheim and Holtzheim. It flows into the Ill in the city of Strasbourg, southwest of the historic centre. Its largest tributary is the river Mossig.At Wolxheim, where the Bruche and Mossig meet, part of the water feeds the Canal de la Bruche, built in 1682 to link the sandstone quarries at Soultz-les-Bains with Strasbourg. The canal remained in use until 1939.

Saint Trophimus' Church (French: Église Saint-Trophime) is a Romanesque church in Eschau, a small town in the suburbs of Strasbourg, the historical capital of Alsace. The church is dedicated to Trophimus of Arles. It houses relics of Saint Sophia (French: Sainte Sophie) since 777 and is a place of Christian pilgrimage, especially for members of the Russian Orthodox Church. It is classified as a Monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture since 1898.
