Lavagna is a comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Genoa, Italy.

Chiavari (Italian pronunciation: [ˈkjaːvari]; Ligurian: Ciävai [ˈtʃaːvaj]) is a comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Genoa, in Italy. It has about 28,000 inhabitants. It is situated near the river Entella.

Chiavari railway station (Italian: Stazione di Chiavari) serves the town and comune of Chiavari, in the Liguria region, northwestern Italy. Opened in 1868, it forms part of the Pisa–La Spezia–Genoa railway, and is situated between La Spezia and Genoa. The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). However, the commercial area of the passenger building is managed by Centostazioni. Train services to and from the station are operated by Trenitalia. Each of these companies is a subsidiary of Ferrovie dello Stato (FS), Italy's state-owned rail company.

Named after the Apennine Mountains, it originated on 6 June 1805, after France had directly annexed the Ligurian Republic (formerly the Republic of Genoa) on 4 June 1805. Its capital was Chiavari. Disbanded after the defeat of Napoleon in 1814, the department again became part of the briefly restored Ligurian Republic, but the Congress of Vienna awarded the old territory of Genoa to the Kingdom of Sardinia (December 1814). As of 2014 the area of the former département forms parts of the Italian provinces of Genoa, La Spezia, Massa-Carrara and Parma.

As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 5,316 and an area of 9.1 square kilometres (3.5 sq mi).The municipality of Cogorno contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) San Salvatore, Panesi, Monticelli, and Breccanecca. Cogorno borders the municipalities of Carasco, Chiavari, Lavagna, and Ne.
