Świecie Castle

The Wda (German: Schwarzwasser) is a river in Poland; it has a lowland character. The Wda is one of the 15 main canoe trails in Poland. It is 198 km long and the surface of its catchment area amounts to 2325 km2. The Wda's average gradient is 0.7‰ and its flow is 6.52 m3/s. The Wda begins its course at Krążno Lake and ends in the Wisła in Świecie. The Wda is one of the longest rivers in Bory Tucholskie and one of the most important of Pomorze's river routes.

Nowe Dobra [ˈnɔvɛ ˈdɔbra] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Chełmno, within Chełmno County, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-central Poland. It lies approximately 4 kilometres (2 mi) north-east of Chełmno, 41 km (25 mi) north of Toruń, and 43 km (27 mi) north-east of Bydgoszcz. It is located in Chełmno Land within the historic region of Pomerania.

Świecie (Polish: [ˈɕfjɛt͡ɕɛ] ; German: Schwetz) is a town in northern Poland with 24,841 inhabitants (2023), capital of Świecie County in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. It is located within the ethnocultural region of Kociewie in the historic region of Pomerania. Founded in the Middle Ages, Świecie prospered as a trade center due to its location at the intersection of important trade routes. The town features heritage sites in a variety of styles, including Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Neo-Renaissance and Neo-Gothic, a preserved market square, and the region's sole Museum of Firefighting. Świecie is home to one of the oldest psychiatric hospitals in Poland.

Gmina Świecie is an urban-rural gmina (administrative district) in Świecie County, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-central Poland. Its seat is the town of Świecie, which lies approximately 45 kilometres (28 mi) north of Toruń and 45 km (28 mi) north-east of Bydgoszcz. The gmina covers an area of 174.81 square kilometres (67.5 sq mi), and as of 2023 its total population is 32,807 (out of which the population of Świecie amounts to 24,841, and the population of the rural part of the gmina is 7,966).

Świecie County (Polish: powiat świecki) is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, north-central Poland. It came into being on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998. Its administrative seat and largest town is Świecie, which lies 45 km (28 mi) north of Toruń and 45 km (28 mi) north-east of Bydgoszcz. The only other town in the county is Nowe, lying 33 km (21 mi) north-east of Świecie. The county covers an area of 1,472.78 square kilometres (568.6 sq mi). As of 2019 its total population is 99,154, out of which the population of Świecie is 25,723, that of Nowe is 5,827, and the rural population is 67,604.

Ostrów Świecki (Polish: [ˈɔstruf ˈɕfjɛt͡skʲi]) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Chełmno, within Chełmno County, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-central Poland.

Kolno [ˈkɔlnɔ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Chełmno, within Chełmno County, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-central Poland. It lies approximately 7 kilometres (4 mi) north-east of Chełmno, 42 km (26 mi) north of Toruń, and 46 km (29 mi) north-east of Bydgoszcz. It is located in Chełmno Land within the historic region of Pomerania. During the German occupation of Poland (World War II), Kolno was one of the sites of executions of Poles, carried out by the Germans in 1939 as part of the Intelligenzaktion.

Marianki [maˈrjaŋki] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Świecie, within Świecie County, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-central Poland. It lies approximately 2 kilometres (1 mi) north-west of Świecie, 44 km (27 mi) north-east of Bydgoszcz, and 46 km (29 mi) north of Toruń.

Chełmno Landscape Park (Chełmiński Park Krajobrazowy) is a protected area (Landscape Park) in north-central Poland, established in 1998, covering an area of 223.36 square kilometres (86.24 sq mi). The Park lies within Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, in the region of the town of Chełmno, stretching along the right bank of the Vistula river. It forms a complex with the Vistula Landscape Park on the opposite bank. From 1999 to 2003 these areas constituted a single Landscape Park, called the Lower Vistula Valley Landscape Park (Park Krajobrazowy Doliny Dolnej Wisły). The two parks have a common administration located in Świecie.
