The Minster Church of St Andrew, also known as St Andrew's Church, Plymouth is an Anglican church in Plymouth. It is the original parish church of Sutton, one of the three towns which were later combined to form the city of Plymouth. The church is the largest parish church in the historic county of Devon and was built in the mid to late 15th century. The church was heavily damaged during the Plymouth Blitz but was rebuilt after the war. It was designated as a Minster Church in 2009 and it continues to operate as the focus for religious civic events for the city and as a bustling evangelical church. It is likely to be on the site of the original Saxon church and was once attached to the abbey of Plympton.

Plymouth Sutton and Devonport is a constituency created in 2010, and represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2017 by Luke Pollard, a Labour Co-operative party candidate. The seat is one of two won (held or gained) by a Labour candidate in 2017 from a total of twelve in its county. Pollard's 2017 win was one of 30 net gains for the Labour Party. The seat was in 2010 and 2015 a very marginal win for Oliver Colvile, his greatest majority being 2.6%.

Plymouth Law Courts, also known as Plymouth Combined Court Centre, is a Crown Court venue which deals with criminal cases, as well as a County Court, which deals with civil cases, in Armada Way, Plymouth, England. The building is located just to the east of Plymouth Civic Centre and just to the south of Plymouth Guildhall.

Plymouth Arts Cinema is an independent cinema based at Plymouth College of Art. It screens new independent cinema from all around the world, classic films, along with festivals, special events, and Open Air Cinema. Plymouth Arts Centre was a centre for contemporary art, independent cinema and creative learning based in the Barbican area of Plymouth, UK. It was first opened in 1947 with funding from the newly formed Arts Council of Great Britain. It was located in a Grade II listed town house in Looe Street, and included space for exhibitions, a cinema, artist studios, a café and a bar. Beryl Cook had her first exhibition here, and many other artists held exhibitions here early in their careers. In 2018, Plymouth Arts Centre closed. The organisation moved to a new location at Plymouth College of Art and continues to exist as an independent cinema, named Plymouth Arts Cinema.

The Plymouth Gin Distillery is a gin manufacturer on The Barbican, Plymouth, England. Also known as the Black Friars Distillery, it is the only gin distillery in the city. The original building opens on to what is now Southside Street. Established in 1793, it is the oldest operating distillery in Britain.

The following is a timeline of the history of the city of Plymouth, Devon, England.

The siege of Plymouth took place during the First English Civil War, when Royalist forces besieged Plymouth, in Devon, held by a Parliamentary garrison. With the exception of a brief interlude in July 1644, the town was isolated for most of the period from August 1642 to January 1646; however, control of the sea meant the garrison could easily be resupplied. The Royalists recognised this made its capture extremely difficult, and they generally restricted operations to a land blockade. However, there were two serious attempts to capture the town; the first, from October to December 1643, the second, January to February 1645. The town was finally relieved in February 1646.
