Foxton railway station

Foxton is a small village in South Cambridgeshire, England. It has a number of well-preserved fifteenth- and sixteenth-century houses, and a thirteenth-century church dedicated to St Laurence.

Rowley's Hill is a hill in Cambridgeshire, near the villages of Harston and Newton. Although of only moderate height (50 m/164 ft), it has a relatively large prominence due to it being surrounded on all sides by a 'moat' of much lower land. It therefore stands separate from the other hills in the region and has a distinctive appearance. The hill has a north east top, St Margaret's Mount (52.1362°N 0.1056°E / 52.1362; 0.1056), on top of which is an obelisk. It is a memorial to Gregory Wale, of Little Shelford, of the eighteenth century.

Fowlmere is a Royal Society for the Protection of Birds nature reserve between Fowlmere and Melbourn in Cambridgeshire. It is designated a 39.9-hectare (99-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest called Fowlmere Watercress Beds.Fowlmere's reedbeds and pools are fed by natural chalk springs and a chalk stream runs through the reserve. It has three hides, two of which are wheelchair-accessible. Special birds include kingfishers, water rails, sedge warblers, reed warblers and grasshopper warblers plus a roost of corn buntings in winter.

Harston is a village and civil parish in South Cambridgeshire, England, located around 5 miles (8 km) south of Cambridge. In 2011, it had a population of 1,740.

Haslingfield is a village and civil parish in South Cambridgeshire, England. The village is about six miles south-west of Cambridge, between Harston, Barton and Barrington. The population in the 2001 census was 1,550 people living in 621 households, reducing at the 2011 Census to a population of 1,507 living in 626 households. The main streets in the village are called High Street and New Road which together form an approximate circle around the Manor House. Harston was a railway station on the Cambridge Line, which served the village of Harston in Cambridgeshire. The station opened on 1 April 1852, and closed on 17 June 1963. A small part of the former southbound platform remains in situ but otherwise all remains of the station have gone. However, the Cambridge Line, which formerly served the station, remains an increasingly busy commuter line connecting the East Coast Main Line to the West Anglia Main Line.

Barrington Chalk Pit is a 97.1-hectare (240-acre) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest near Barrington in Cambridgeshire. It is a Geological Conservation Review site.This large quarry is the only surviving exposure of the Cretaceous Cambridge Greensand. Fossils include brachiopods and fish teeth. It is overlain by thick sequences of chalk and Totternhoe Stone.Large parts of the site are a working quarry which is closed to the public, while other areas have been filled in and are now fields which are crossed by footpaths.

Fowlmere Airfield (ICAO: EGMA) is a small airfield located 4.2 miles (6.8 km) northeast of Royston, Hertfordshire and 8.8 miles (14.2 km) southwest of Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England. It was previously a Royal Air Force satellite station, RAF Fowlmere.

L-Moor, Shepreth is a 6.6-hectare (16-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Shepreth in Cambridgeshire. It is managed by the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire.The site is unploughed calcareous grassland which has diverse flora such as horseshoe vetch and felwort in drier areas, and devil's bit scabious and fen bedstraw in wetter ones. A stream provides a habitats, and the site is regarded by Natural England as very valuable for its invertebrates. Some areas are grazed by rabbits.There is access from Meldreth Road.
