Meldreth railway station

Melwood is a 0.6 hectare Local Nature Reserve in Meldreth in Cambridgeshire, England. It is owned by Cambridgeshire County Council and managed by the Melwood Conservation Group.This is a woodland site next to the River Mel, with trees such as ash, hawthorn, sycamore, beech and silver birch. Ground flora include dog violet and cow parsley, while traveller's joy provides food for moths. Tawny owls and pipistrelle bats roost on ivy.There is access by a footpath from Flambards Close.

The school has over 600 students aged 11–16. Melbourn Village College is part of the Cam Academy Trust as of September 1, 2013. The Cam Academy Trust now comprises Comberton Village College, Comberton Sixth Form, Cambourne Village College, Melbourn Village College, St Peter's School Huntingdon, as well as several primary schools. L-Moor, Shepreth is a 6.6-hectare (16-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Shepreth in Cambridgeshire. It is managed by the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire.The site is unploughed calcareous grassland which has diverse flora such as horseshoe vetch and felwort in drier areas, and devil's bit scabious and fen bedstraw in wetter ones. A stream provides a habitats, and the site is regarded by Natural England as very valuable for its invertebrates. Some areas are grazed by rabbits.There is access from Meldreth Road.

Holland Hall (Melbourn) Railway Cutting is a 3.3-hectare (8.2-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest near Melbourn in Cambridgeshire. It is the verge of a kilometre long stretch of an operational railway line, the Cambridge Line.The site is steeply sloping chalk grassland, which has many plants which are unique in the county, and some which are nationally uncommon, such as wild candytuft. Also present is the nationally rare great pignut.There is no public access to the site.

Barrington Pit is a 3.8-hectare (9.4-acre) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest near Barrington in Cambridgeshire. It is a Geological Conservation Review site.This site is described by Natural England as of national importance for its mammal fossils, most of which were found around 1900. Species include hippopotamuses, straight-tusked elephants, lions, aurochs and spotted hyenas. They probably date to the warm Eemian period, around 130,000 to 115,000 years ago.The site is private land, part of which is now covered by housing.

Goffers Knoll is a prominent knoll on the Hertfordshire-Cambridgeshire border in the east of England, to the east of the town of Royston and south of Melbourn. It is formed from a spur of the chalk uplands to the west which go on to form the Chiltern Hills. The knoll, standing some 60m above sea level is clearly visible from the A505 road which runs to the south. Hidden within the copse of trees which surmounts the knoll is a bowl barrow which dates from the Bronze Age and is reported to be substantially intact. It is a scheduled ancient monument. The barrow is 21m in diameter and stands some 1.5m in height above ground level. In the absence of trees, the barrow would be a prominent landmark overlooking the ancient Icknield way (the current route of the A505) and the low-lying land towards Duxford and Cambridge. Excavcations of the barrow were carried out by RC Neville in the mid 19th Century and again around 1920.
