Asti

The Coppa Città di Asti was an annual one-day cycling race held in the Asti commune of Province of Parma, Italy. The last edition of the race was held in 2007. The cessation of the race was not attributed to financial constraints, as historical sponsors continued their support. Luciano Cerrato, the organizer of the race cited the absence of his brother-in-law Piero Pia, who had an important role in the administrative aspects of the event.

The province of Asti (Italian: provincia di Asti; Piedmontese: provincia d'Ast) is a province in the Piedmont region of Italy. Its capital is the city of Asti. To the northwest it borders on the Metropolitan City of Turin; to the southwest it borders on the province of Cuneo. To the east it borders on the province of Alessandria, while in the south it shares a very short border with the Ligurian province of Savona. It has an area of 1,504.5 square kilometres (580.9 sq mi), and, As of 2017, a total population of 215,871.

The Torre Troyana ("Troyan Tower", after the family Troya that built it) is a tower in Asti, Italy, and one of the main symbols of the city. It is a campanile, or freestanding bell tower, and in the 19th century it was used to signal hours during daylight.

Asti railway station (Italian: Stazione di Asti) serves the city and comune of Asti, in the Piedmont region, of northwestern Italy. Opened in 1849, the station forms part of the Turin–Genoa and Castagnole–Asti–Mortara railways, and is also a junction for two other lines, to Genoa and Chivasso. The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). However, the commercial area of the passenger building is managed by Centostazioni. Train services are operated by Trenitalia. Each of these companies is a subsidiary of Ferrovie dello Stato (FS), Italy's state-owned rail company.

Palazzo Gazelli is a medieval palace located in the city of Asti, Italy.The palace includes an imposing tower, which is 24 m (79 ft) high and square in plan with 8.1 m (27 ft) metre sides. It was probably built in the 13th century and presents a few openings: the main door with an ogival arch, and three windows.

Tanaro (French: [ta.na.ʁo]) was a short-lived department of the French Consulate and of the First French Empire in present-day Italy. It was named after the river Tanaro. It was formed in 1801, when the Subalpine Republic (formerly the mainland portion of the Kingdom of Sardinia) was intended to be annexed to France. Its capital was Asti, though Alessandria was the original intended capital. The department was disbanded in 1805, when the French conquered the Ligurian Republic, and its territory was divided over the departments of Marengo, Montenotte and Stura.

Asti Cathedral (Italian: Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta e San Gottardo; Cattedrale di Asti), the episcopal seat of the Diocese of Asti, is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Asti, Piedmont, Italy. It is dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and to Saint Gotthard, and at 82m long and 24m in height and width, is one of the largest churches in Piedmont, the highest expression of Gothic architecture of the region, and among the best examples of Lombard Romanesque appreciable in northern Italy.

The Torre Rossa (Italian for "Red Tower") is a Romanesque tower located in Asti, Italy. It is approximately 24 metres (79 ft) in height and shaped as a 16-sided polygon.

The Borbore is a river of Piedmont, Italy. It is a left-side tributary of the Tanaro.

Mongardino is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Asti in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 45 kilometres (28 mi) southeast of Turin and about 6 kilometres (4 mi) south of Asti. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 989 and an area of 6.7 square kilometres (2.6 sq mi).Mongardino borders the following municipalities: Asti, Isola d'Asti, and Vigliano d'Asti.
