Osage is an unincorporated community in Carroll County, in the U.S. state of Arkansas. The community is on the south side of Osage Creek at the junction of Osage and Kenner Creeks. U.S. Route 412 (US 412) passes on the north side of Osage Creek.

Osage Township is one of twenty-one current townships in Carroll County, Arkansas, USA. As of the 2010 census, its total population was 418. Osage Township was formed prior to 1870; the exact date is unknown since county records were lost.

The Dog Branch School is a historic one-room schoolhouse building in rural southeastern Carroll County, Arkansas. It is located about 3 miles (4.8 km) east of the hamlet of Osage, a short way south of United States Route 412 off County Road 927. It is a single story gable-roofed structure, built out of rough-hewn fieldstone. It has a very limited, vernacular amount of Romanesque Revival and Italianate features, including an arched entry opening and segmented-arch openings for the windows. The school was built in 1898, and is unusual mainly because most district schools built in the region at the time were built out of wood. Its builders, the Bailey Brothers, also built the Stamps Store in Osage. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

Gobbler (also known as Gobbler's Point) is an unincorporated community in southern Carroll County, Arkansas, United States. The community is located at the intersection of U.S. Route 412 and Arkansas Highway 103, approximately ten miles south of Green Forest. The location is on a ridge between the headwaters of Piney Creek to the northwest and a small tributary to Osage Creek to the southeast at an elevation of 1,657 ft (505 m). The community was established in the 1800s by Alexander Wilson, who moved into the area from Tennessee, where he was born in 1825. Wilson provided land for the community school, church and cemetery. The village school was active until the 1940s.

Piney Township is one of twenty-one current townships in Carroll County, Arkansas, USA. As of the 2010 census, its total population was 226. The township was established in 1875, taking its name from the Piney Creek which runs through it.

Rudd also known as Piney is an unincorporated community in southern Carroll County, Arkansas, United States. The community is located among mountain peaks along Piney Creek on Arkansas Highway 103. Gobbler lies to the southeast and Metalton lies to the northwest. The site is at an elevation of 1,447 ft (441 m). A post office named Piney was opened at the site in 1873, but was closed and replaced by the Rudd post office in 1892 and remained in operation until 1957.

Rule is an unincorporated community in Carroll County, Arkansas, United States. The community is located on Arkansas Highway 103 on the banks of Osage Creek and about four miles south of Green Forest.

Carrollton is an unincorporated community in Carroll County, Arkansas, United States. Once designated the county seat, it had a population near the 10,000 mark in the 1850s. It has now 30 residents and a historically significant past.

The Yell Masonic Lodge Hall is a historic Masonic lodge on the west side of United States Route 412 in Carrollton, Arkansas. Also known as Carrollton Masonic Lodge, it is a two-story wood-frame structure measuring about 50 by 35 feet with a front-gable roof, clapboard siding, and a stone foundation. A small belfry rises above the roof, capped by a pyramidal roof. The building was built in 1876, originally serving as a church on the ground floor, and a Masonic meeting hall for Yell Lodge #64 on the second. The building was a major community center for Carrollton, which was the first county seat of Carroll County but declined in importance after it was bypassed by the railroads. In 1962, in a state of decay, the structure was rebuilt by the Arkansas Parks and Publicity Commission. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Metalton is an unincorporated community in southern Carroll County, Arkansas, United States. The community is located on Arkansas Highway 21 between Cabanal to the north and Omega to the south. The communities of Rudd and Gobbler lie to the southeast along Arkansas Highway 103. The community lies near the intersection of Piney Creek with its tributary Cedar Creek. The community sits at an elevation of 1,345 ft (410 m). The Metalton post office was established in 1898 and served until 1967.
