Warley Woods

Warley is a constituency in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament. The constituency was established in 1997, and has been represented since that date by John Spellar, a member of the Labour Party.

Thimblemill Library is located in Smethwick, in the Metropolitan Borough of Sandwell. It was built in 1937 and designed by Smethwick Borough engineer Roland Fletcher and Chester Button, an architect.It is built in brick in the Moderne style and was given Grade II listed building status in March 2003, legally protecting it from unauthorised alteration or demolition. The English Heritage list entry describes the building as "Warley Branch Library, Smethwick".The building, at the junction of Beakes Road and Thimblemill Road, was renovated and extended in 2008. It offers a modern range of digital services and community space.It is named after a nearby former watermill called the Thimble Mill.

Lightwoods Park is a public park in Bearwood in the West Midlands, England. It lies on the north-west side of Hagley Road, which here forms the boundary between Birmingham and the borough of Sandwell.

Bearwood bus station is a small bus station in Smethwick, West Midlands, England. It is located on the Hagley Road junction with Bearwood Road. It is Smethwick's only bus station. It is accessed via one-way streets, and consequently most services use the stands located outside the station. It is managed by Transport for West Midlands.

Bearwood is the southern part of Smethwick, Sandwell, West Midlands, England, and north of the A456 Hagley Road. Bearwood Hill was the original name of the High Street from Smethwick Council House to Windmill Lane. The border at the Shireland Brook where Portland Road (Edgbaston) becomes Shireland Road (Sandwell) is signed "Bearwood" (February 2014). The part of Bearwood to the west of Shireland Brook is included in Abbey Ward in Sandwell Metropolitan Borough. The smaller part of Bearwood to the east of Shireland Brook is in the North West Edgbaston ward in Birmingham. In 1903, Bearwood Ward in Smethwick extended from Hagley Road to Smethwick High Street and included part of Cape Hill.The Bearwood telephone exchange area marked out by the 0121-429, 420, and 434 numbers extends as far east as Harborne Walkway. Bearwood, like many areas of the West Midlands conurbation, has a local sense of place, although it has become absorbed into Smethwick. Many locals still use the term "The Bear" especially referring to "The Bear Hotel" located in Bearwood. An old map of the 18th century mentions 'The Bear of Smethwick'.

The Church of Our Lady and St Hubert is a Roman Catholic church in Warley, West Midlands, England, and in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Birmingham. It was built in 1934, and is Grade II listed.

Smethwick Old Church is an Anglican parish church, located in the town of Smethwick, West Midlands. It is located on the junction of The Uplands and Church Road, adjacent to the Dorothy Parkes Community Centre and the 18th-century Old Chapel Public House.

Lordswood Boys' School (formerly Lordswood Technical School) is a secondary school for boys located in the Harborne area of Birmingham, in the West Midlands of England. Opened in September 1957, ten years later it had changed to a grammar school and subsequent years later to a comprehensive school. Every ten years the school has an anniversary party from the year it was built.Previously a community school administered by Birmingham City Council, Lordswood Boys' School converted to academy status in January 2013 and joined Lordswood Girls' School as part of Lordswood Academies Trust. In July 2017 Lordswood Boys' School left Lordswood Academies Trust after an extended period in Special Measures entered into after being rated Inadequate in multiple Ofsted inspections. and undergoing a severe drop in the number of students enrolled. Of a school capacity of 733, only 356 were enrolled as of 2 December 2016.Central Academies Trust took on running of the school as of 1 September 2017. With the building outdated, the school was then rebuilt and the original building was demolished.

Brandhall is a suburb of Oldbury in the south of the Metropolitan Borough of Sandwell, West Midlands, bordering Birmingham and Halesowen. The development of the area commenced during the 1930s with the construction of several hundred private houses along the Hagley Road and Wolverhampton Road, as well as several side roads leading off the main dual carriageways. However, most of Brandhall was developed in the 1950s and 1960s, when several thousand council houses, flats and bungalows were built by Oldbury Council. Most of the high and medium-rise flats in Brandhall were demolished in the early 2000s and in their place housing associations built new low-rise homes. Brandhall is growing to be a more popular place due to the construction of new facilities, such as a local supermarket and a doctor's surgery. Brandhall (along with the rest of the Oldbury borough, and the neighbouring boroughs of Smethwick and Rowley Regis) became part of the County Borough of Warley in 1966, but this arrangement lasted just eight years until Warley merged with West Bromwich to form Sandwell Metropolitan Borough in 1974. Brandhall is home to secondary school, Perryfields Academy and two primary schools, Perryfields Primary School and Brandhall Primary School.
