Bad Essen

The von dem Bussche is the name of an old East-East-Westphalian German noble family. The Lords von dem Bussche belonged to the nobility in the County of Ravensberg. Various branches of the family exist today.

Bohmte is a municipality in the district of Osnabrück, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated on the river Hunte, approx. 20 km northeast of Osnabrück. The foundation of today's Bohmte is a result of the regional reorganization of 1972, when the towns of Bohmte, Herringhausen-Stirpe-Oelingen and Hunteburg were consolidated. Bohmte introduced a new road system in September 2007, designed to reduce the dominance of the motor vehicle. It is hoped that the scheme, which is based on the shared space philosophy, will improve road safety in the town.

The TERRA.vita Nature Park (German: Naturpark TERRA.vita) is located in the German states of Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia and is divided into northern and southern areas. The park is also known as the Osnabrück Land Nature Park and sometimes by its old name of North Teutoburg Forest-Wiehen Hills Nature Park. The woodlands of the Nature Park comprise about 70% of its total area.

Hunte is a 189-kilometre (117 mi) long river in north-western Germany (Lower Saxony), a left tributary of the Weser. The Hunte rises in the Wiehen Hills. In the North German Plain it flows through lake Dümmer. It flows generally northwards through the towns Bad Essen, Diepholz, Wildeshausen and Oldenburg. It flows into the Weser in Elsfleth. The part between Oldenburg and the Weser is navigable for coastal cargo ships. The Küsten Canal, suitable for inland navigation only, links the Hunte in Oldenburg to river Ems near Papenburg.

Westerhausen is a railway station located in Westerhausen, Germany. The station is located on the Löhne-Rheine railway. The train services are operated by WestfalenBahn.

Ostercappeln is a municipality in the district of Osnabrück, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated in the Wiehengebirge, approx. 15 km northeast of Osnabrück. The municipality is made up of three villages, Ostercappeln, Venne and Schwagstorf, along the Bundesstraße 218. Ostercappeln is the location of the St. Raphael hospital, which serves a general hospital for the surrounding municipalities and as a center for pulmonary diseases for the district.

The Meller Möbelfabrik GmbH, Melle (MMM) was a manufacturer of high-quality home and office furniture in Melle, Germany founded in 1870 as J.H. Krumnack, Möbelfabrik, Dampfsägewerk und Holzhandlung and liquidated in 1975 after a chequered history. With up to 200 employees at times, the owner-managed, medium-sized company was an important part of the Ostwestfalen-Lippe furniture industry. Some of the buildings are now listed and well preserved.

Melle (German: [ˈmɛlə] ) is a city in the district of Osnabrück, Lower Saxony, Germany. The city corresponds to what used to be the district of Melle until regional territorial reform in 1972. Since then Melle is the third largest city in Lower Saxony in terms of surface area.

Oldendorf is a former municipality, now part of Melle, in the district of Osnabrück, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is on the southern slope of the Wiehengebirge, between the cities of Osnabrück and Bielefeld.

The Schelenburg is a water castle in Schledehausen, municipality of Bissendorf, Lower Saxony, Germany. Built in the Weser Renaissance style, it is one of the oldest castles of the Osnabrücker Land.

Gesmold is a town and former municipality, now part of Melle, in the district of Osnabrück, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is placed between the Wiehengebirge and the Teutoburg Forest. It features Gesmold Castle, a Renaissance building. Another interesting place is the Church of St. Peter.
