Negishi Racecourse

The Negishi Housing Complex (Japanese: 根岸住宅地区 Negishi Juutaku Chiku) was an enclave of United States Forces Japan operated by United States Fleet Activities Yokosuka in Yokosuka, Japan. It served as a residence complex for the U.S. military.

Negishi Station (根岸駅, Negishi-eki) is a passenger railway station located in Isogo-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, operated by the East Japan Railway Company (JR East). The station is also a freight terminal on the Japan Freight Railway Company, as well as the terminus for the all-freight Honmoku Line of the Kanagawa Rinkai Railway.

Yokohama Jogakuin Junior and Senior High School (横浜女学院中学校・高等学校, Tokohama Jogauin Chūgakkō Kōtōgakkō) is a Christian private girls' secondary school in Naka-ku, Yokohama, Japan, It was founded on September 13, 1947, as a post-World War II combination of a former Shinto girls' senior high school and a Buddhist girls' senior high school and was established by Tadashi Kaneko (died 2000). As of 2019 the teaching staff numbers over 100 and the student body numbers over 1,000.

The Yokohama Country & Athletic Club is a sport and recreational club located in Yamate, Yokohama Kanagawa Prefecture. First founded in 1868 by Scottish cricketer James Pender Mollison (21 July 1844 – 22 November 1931) as the Yokohama Cricket Club. In 1884 members voted to absorb the Yokohama Foot Ball Club (Rugby Union), Athletics, Baseball and Tennis clubs to form the Yokohama Country & Athletic Club (YC&AC) as it is now known.

Yokohama City University Medical Center (横浜市立大学附属市民総合医療センター) is a general hospital located in Minami-ku, Yokohama, Japan. Founded in 1871, it is the second oldest western-style hospital in Japan.

Ishikawachō Station (石川町駅, Ishikawachō-eki) is a passenger railway station located in Naka-ku, Yokohama, Japan, operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East).

The Yokohama Yamate Chinese School is a Chinese-style primary and junior high school in Naka-ku, Yokohama, Japan. Serving levels kindergarten through ninth grade, it is one of two Chinese schools in Japan oriented towards Mainland China, and one of five Chinese schools total. As of 2008 Pan Minsheng is the principal.It was formed after the 1952 split of the Yokohama Chinese School, which had been established by Sun Yat-sen. Yokohama Yamate was aligned to the People's Republic of China while the sister school Yokohama Overseas Chinese School was aligned to the Republic of China on Taiwan. In 2008 Pan stated that all of the graduating students pass entrance examinations to attend Japanese senior high schools.

Sacred Heart Cathedral (Japanese: カトリック山手教会) is the seat of the bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Yokohama, Japan. The Yokohama diocese includes Kanagawa, Shizuoka, Nagano, and Yamanashi prefectures. As it is located at 44 Yamate-cho, Naka-ku, the cathedral is commonly known locally as Yamate Catholic Church (カトリック山手教会, Katorikku Yamate Kyōkai). Immediately after the lifting of the a long-standing ban on Christianity, a Catholic church was built in 1862 by the Paris Foreign Missions Society in the Yokohama foreign settlement (currently Yamashita-cho). This church was moved to its current location in 1906, and was a brick building with two bell towers, which was completely destroyed during the 1923 Great Kantō earthquake. The present Yamate Catholic Church was designed by Czech architect Jan Josef Švagr in the Neo-Gothic style and completed in 1933. When the Diocese of Yokohama was erected in 1937, the Yamate church became its cathedral.Currently, Catholic Masses are held on weekdays at 7am, Saturdays at 6pm, and Sundays at 7.30am, 9.30am (English services) and 1130am. Spanish language services are held every month on the second Sunday at 2pm (excluding July and August, when no Spanish services are held).

The 1964 Summer Olympics was the first time that Volleyball had been held as an Olympic sport. The sport would feature two medals during this games with the men's and women's indoor teams events. In both tournaments, the format was the same with a single round robin between all of the teams that was competing in the tournament.In the men's competition, the Soviet Union took out the gold medal as they won eight out of their nine games with the only loss being in Japan who came third. Finishing behind only on sets difference was Czechoslovakia who had only their single loss against the Soviet Union. In the women's competition, Japan won all five of their games to take the gold medal ahead of the Soviet Union and Poland who claimed silver and bronze respectively.

Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium (横浜文化体育館, Yokohama Bunka Taiikukan) is an indoor sports arena located in Naka-ku, Yokohama, Japan. The capacity of the arena is 5,000 people and was opened in 1962. It is a five-minute walk from the closest subway station, Kannai Station, on the JR/Yokohama Municipal Subway. The arena hosted the volleyball events of the 1964 Summer Olympics. The last major event held at the arena was an event held by Big Japan Pro Wrestling on August 30, 2020 which was called "Last Buntai". The arena closed its doors on September 6, 2020 with Yokohama United Arena set to replace this gymnasium in 2024.
