Klein-Sinaai is a village near the Dutch border in the Belgian municipality of Stekene in the province of East Flanders. Until 1977 it was a part of the municipality of Sinaai.In Klein-Sinaai are the remains of Abbey of Boudelo (also known as Boudeloo Abbey), formerly a monastery of the Cistercians. The abbey was founded in 1197 when Baldwin of Boucle, a monk from St. Peter's Abbey in Ghent, settled in Klein-Sinaai as a hermit. In the early 13th century the abbey was recognised by the Bishop of Doornik. In 1578 the abbey was destroyed by Calvinists from Ghent, but was rebuilt a few years later, within the walls of Ghent itself.The museum of cultural history in Sint-Niklaas exhibits several archaeological finds from Boudelo Abbey. In 1877, a railway station opened on the Sint-Gillis-Waas to Zelzate railway. The line closed for passengers in 1952 and the track was removed in 1974.

Absdale is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Hulst, and lies about 32 km southwest of Bergen op Zoom. Absdale is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Hulst. Absdale has place name signs. It used to be home to 550 people in 1840. Nowadays, it consists of about 40 houses.The hamlet was first mentioned in 1315 as te Absdale, and means valley of the abbot which refers to the Ter Duinen Abbey. Absdale is mentioned in the poem Van den vos Reynaerde.

Heikant is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Hulst, and lies about 33 km southwest of Bergen op Zoom. There are many settlements called Heikant ("heath edge") in the Netherlands; the one near Hulst is the largest and the only one with village status.

Since 1976, the municipality has comprised the towns of Kemzeke, Klein-Sinaai and Stekene proper. It also includes the village Koewacht. In 2021, Stekene had a total population of 18,863. The total area is 44.80 km².Stekene profiles itself as an oasis of green within industrialized Flanders as a large part of its area consists of forests and agricultural lands. The E34 road, from Antwerp to the coast, passes through the municipality and also has its own access to it. Another part of the community is the N403, which connects to Sint-Niklaas.

The Moerbeke Sugar Factory was a beet sugar factory in Moerbeke, Belgium. The factory was last part of Iscal Sugar, a competitor of Raffinerie Tirlemontoise. In 2008, the factory was shut down and later completely demolished.

The municipality comprises the town of Moerbeke proper, and part of the Dutch-Belgian village Koewacht. In 2021, Moerbeke had a total population of 6,619. The total area is 37.80 km².Moerbeke was known very well for its sugar refinery. It is thought to have been the hometown of William of Moerbeke, who as Bishop of Corinth produced a new translation into Latin of the works of Aristotle, including certain which had been rediscovered from Arab sources, in the late 13th century. Unique is the political situation: since 1847 the liberal party has an absolute majority. The current mayor is Robby De Caluwé. The previous mayor was Filip Marin. Axel is a city in the southwest Netherlands. It is located in the municipality of Terneuzen, Zeeland, about 31 km southeast of Vlissingen. Axel received city rights in 1213.

Sint Jansteen is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Hulst, and lies about 31 km southwest of Bergen op Zoom.

Overslag is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Terneuzen, and lies about 36 km southeast of Vlissingen. The village was first mentioned in 1542 as "ten Overslach", and means place where goods could be transferred. It was located where the canal from Axel and canal from the Belgian Wachtebeke were closed together. It is a border village which is cut in two by the Netherlands-Belgian border. In 1547, the Sassevaart was dug and Overslag become obsolete for the transfer of goods. The parish church is located on the Belgian side. During World War I, it was not possible to completely shut the border and the Wire of Death, a lethal electric fence, ran through the village.Overslag was a separate municipality until 1970, when it was merged with Axel.
