Makasar is a district (kecamatan) of East Jakarta, Indonesia. It had an area of 21.85 km2 and population of 185,830 at the 2010 Census; the latest official estimate (for mid 2019) is 204,595.The boundaries of Makasar District are Kali Malang channel to the north, Sunter River to the east, Jagorawi Toll Road to the west, and Taman Mini 2 – Pondok Gede Raya Road to the south. The Taman Mini Indonesia Indah area is located in Cipayung District (Setu Administrative Village), but the museum complex of Purna Bhakti Pertiwi, a museum also located in Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, is located in Makasar District (Pinang Ranti Administrative Village).

The Jakarta–Bogor–Ciawi Toll Road (shortened to Jagorawi Toll Road) is the first toll road in Indonesia. Construction of the highway began in 1973, and it was officially opened on 9 March 1978.The Jagorawi Toll Road links the capital city of Jakarta to the West Javanese cities of Bogor and Ciawi. It has a length of around 59 kilometres (37 mi) going north and southbound and is operated by Jasa Marga, a state-owned enterprise. The toll road has achieved break-even point, making it the cheapest toll road in Indonesia based on price per kilometer.

Pasar Minggu Baru Station (PSMB) (Indonesian: Stasiun Pasar Minggu Baru) is a railway station in East Pejaten, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, Indonesia. The station, which is located at an altitude of + 29 metres, is included in the Jakarta Operational Area I and only serves the KRL Commuterline route. Since 8 September 2021, this station and Universitas Pancasila Station [id] already have a pedestrian tunnel, which facilitates access for passenger crossing, as well as being equipped with an elevator located in the middle of both sides of the platform.

Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport (Indonesian: Bandar Udara Internasional Halim Perdanakusuma) (IATA: HLP, ICAO: WIHH) is an international airport in Jakarta, Indonesia. The airport is located in East Jakarta and the airfield is conjoined with the Halim Perdanakusuma air force base of the Indonesian Air Force. Aside from commercial scheduled flights, this airport is also used for military, private and presidential purposes. The airport is used for corporate aviation with frequent arrivals and departures of corporate aircraft both domestically and internationally. About 5.6 million passengers used the airport in 2016.

Batik Air Flight 7703 was a scheduled domestic flight operated by Lion Air's subsidiary Batik Air from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta to Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport, Makassar. On 4 April 2016, while taking off from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, the Boeing 737-800 operating the flight (registration PK-LBS) collided with a TransNusa Air Services ATR 42-600 (registration PK-TNJ), which was being towed across the runway.No one was killed or injured in the accident and Angkasa Pura, Indonesia's Airport Management Authority, asked the National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC) to investigate the accident. Minister of Transportation Ignasius Jonan also asked the Director General of Civil Aviation to call the NTSC to investigate the cause of the accident, later criticising Angkasa Pura for the vacuum of power at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport for the past two weeks.

Cawang LRT Station is a light rail station located in Jalan Letjen M.T. Haryono, Cawang, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta. The station, which is located at an altitude of +39 meters, serves the Cibubur and Bekasi lines of the Jabodebek LRT system. It is the main interchange station between the two lines of the system where the two lines meet and split. It is the only station in the system with two island platforms instead of two side platforms, hence the only one with four tracks. Despite sharing the same name, this station is not to be confused with the unrelated Cawang railway station served by the KRL Commuterline on the Bogor Line. Instead, Cawang KRL station is interchanged by the Cikoko LRT Station.

On 21 June 2012, a Fokker F27 military transport aircraft of the Indonesian Air Force crashed into a housing complex near Halim Airport in Jakarta, Indonesia, while conducting a training flight. All seven people on board were killed; four people on the ground were also killed, and 11 more injured.

Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) is an Indonesian NGO whose primary mission is to monitor and publicise incidents of corruption in Indonesia. ICW is also heavily engaged in the prevention and deterrence of corruption through education, cultural change, prosecutions and system reform. The organization was formed in Jakarta in June 1998 to prevent corruption in post-Suharto governments.ICW's work and influence in Indonesia as a major NGO in its field has been recognized and extensively reported on since 1998 by Indonesian and major international news media. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime considers ICW to be "the leading NGO" focused on fighting corruption in Indonesia. The World Bank cites multiple ICW studies in various World Bank published reports and on its website. ICW's work and reports have also been cited in hundreds of academic works, books and journals about governmental and societal corruption. Other recent indications of ICW's notability and influence include a request by the Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama that ICW monitor the performance of government units under his administration, and arrests and reported harassment of ICW staff and activists by Indonesian police officers. On September 2, 2015, President Joko Widodo appointed former Indonesia Corruption Watch head Teten Masduki as his new chief of staff.

The Jakarta–Cikampek Toll Road or Japek toll road is an expressway that was inaugurated in 1988. The highway links Jakarta with cities to its east in the province of West Java, in Indonesia.

TMII LRT Station, often referred to as Taman Mini LRT Station is a light rail station located in Jalan Mabes Hankam, Pinang Ranti, Makasar, East Jakarta. The station serves the Cibubur line of the Jabodebek LRT system. The name is derived from Taman Mini Indonesia Indah Theme Park located near the station, although access between is connected by Travoy Hub.

Ciliwung LRT Station is a light rail station located in Jalan Letjen M.T. Haryono, Cawang, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta. The station, which is located at an altitude of +36.34 meters, serves the Cibubur and Bekasi lines of the Jabodebek LRT system.

Halim Station is a railway station complex under construction located on Makasar, East Jakarta, Jakarta, Indonesia. The complex is planned to serve Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway of Kereta Cepat Indonesia–China (KCIC) and Greater Jakarta LRT Bekasi Line of Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI). The complex consists of two separate elevated stations that would be connected via pedestrian bridge.The station's name is taken from Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport south of the station, itself is named after the pilot and national hero of Indonesia Halim Perdanakusuma.
