Dorman Museum is a local and social history museum on the town centre side of Albert Park, Linthorpe in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, England. It is one of two museums operated by the local borough council, along with the Captain Cook birthplace in Stewart Park. The museum was founded by Sir Arthur Dorman of the Dorman Long engineering company in honour of his son George Lockwood Dorman, who died of enteric fever at Kroonstad in the Second Boer War.At its official opening on 1 July 1904, the museum's theme was the natural sciences. Since then, galleries of the local Linthorpe Art Pottery, work by Victorian industrial designer Christopher Dresser, and Middlesbrough's history have eclipsed this early theme. Remnants of the original Victorian and Edwardian collection of taxidermied, plinth-mounted animals are in the Nelson Room; various taxidermied exotic birds in their original cases with decorative painted backgrounds and colourful and large birds' eggs.

Ayresome Park was a football stadium in the Ayresome area of Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, England. It was the home of Middlesbrough F.C. from its construction in time for the 1903–04 season, until the Riverside Stadium opened in 1995. It was demolished in 1997 and replaced with housing.

Swatter's Carr, also known as the Linthorpe Road East Ground, in Middlesbrough, England held two first class cricket matches [1]. In September 1864 Yorkshire CCC played Kent CCC and in 1867 it hosted a Roses Match. Yorkshire beat Lancashire by an innings after bowling the visitors out for 97 and 68. The ground was sold for development in 1874 but is now an open space once again.

Ayresome is an area of Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, England. The settlement developed on West Lane and in some areas takes on the roads name. Most of the original settlement on the West Lane and the nearby original settlement of Newport became separated from the rest of the area’s population when the A66 road was built in the 1980s.

Kirby College of Further Education, formerly girls-only Kirby Grammar School, is a campus in Linthorpe, Middlesbrough. Founded in 1910 with the benefaction of Alderman Kirby, in its recent history it was part of Middlesbrough College, created via a merger of Kirby and Acklam Sixth Form College. This was further expanded with the inclusion of Teesside Tertiary College in 2002. In summer 2008, the various sites were consolidated onto a single site at Middlehaven.

It was officially opened as Constantine Technical College in 1930, before becoming a polytechnic in 1969, and finally granted university status in 1992 by the Privy Council.The university has over 22,500 students studying in the UK, according to the 2021/22 HESA student record.
