Ayresome

Ayresome Park was a football stadium in the Ayresome area of Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, England. It was the home of Middlesbrough F.C. from its construction in time for the 1903–04 season, until the Riverside Stadium opened in 1995. It was demolished in 1997 and replaced with housing.

Sacred Heart Church formerly the Church of Sacred Heart and St Philomena is a Roman Catholic Parish church in the town centre of Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire. It was built from 1930 to 1932 and is based on the design of St Andrew's Abbey in Bruges, Belgium. It is situated on the west side of Albert Park on the Linthorpe Road. It is a Grade II listed building.

Linthorpe is a suburb of Middlesbrough in the Borough of Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, England. It contains two wards: Linthorpe with a population of 9,711 and Park with a population of 5,919. It is near the areas of Acklam, Ayresome, Grove Hill, Middlesbrough centre and Whinney Banks.

Dorman Museum is a local and social history museum on the town centre side of Albert Park, Linthorpe in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, England. It is one of two museums operated by the local borough council, along with the Captain Cook birthplace in Stewart Park. The museum was founded by Sir Arthur Dorman of the Dorman Long engineering company in honour of his son George Lockwood Dorman, who died of enteric fever at Kroonstad in the Second Boer War.At its official opening on 1 July 1904, the museum's theme was the natural sciences. Since then, galleries of the local Linthorpe Art Pottery, work by Victorian industrial designer Christopher Dresser, and Middlesbrough's history have eclipsed this early theme. Remnants of the original Victorian and Edwardian collection of taxidermied, plinth-mounted animals are in the Nelson Room; various taxidermied exotic birds in their original cases with decorative painted backgrounds and colourful and large birds' eggs.

Linthorpe Road was a cricket and football ground in Middlesbrough in England. It was the home ground of Middlesbrough Cricket Club and Middlesbrough F.C.

Newport railway station served the suburb of Newport, Borough of Middlesbrough, England, from 1830 to 1915 on the Middlesbrough branch of the Stockton and Darlington Railway.

Kirby College of Further Education, formerly girls-only Kirby Grammar School, is a campus in Linthorpe, Middlesbrough. Founded in 1910 with the benefaction of Alderman Kirby, in its recent history it was part of Middlesbrough College, created via a merger of Kirby and Acklam Sixth Form College. This was further expanded with the inclusion of Teesside Tertiary College in 2002. In summer 2008, the various sites were consolidated onto a single site at Middlehaven.

Linthorpe Cemetery is the oldest working cemetery in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, England. The earliest burials in the main cemetery date back to 1869. This 52-acre (21 ha) site is the largest area of woodland in central Middlesbrough. The cemetery contains war graves of 221 Commonwealth service personnel, nearly 160 from the First World War and nearly 60 from the Second World War.Declared a Local Nature Reserve in 2003, it provides a semi-natural habitat that supports a range of wildlife, particularly birds, including tawny owl, great spotted woodpecker and treecreeper. The cemetery encompasses a Quaker burial ground, situated just off Ayresome Green Lane, in which the burials date back to 1668. From 2005 to 2007 the cemetery underwent a £1.7 million restoration programme, funded by Middlesbrough Council and the Heritage Lottery Fund, which included; restoring the Mortuary Chapel for use by the Friends of Linthorpe Cemetery as an exhibition space, converting of the Hebrew Prayer House into an educational and community space, improving the path network and cemetery boundaries, tree and hedgerow planting, and cast iron benches specially designed by local children depicting the theme of 'Flora and Fauna of Linthorpe Cemetery'.

The Northern School of Art is a further and higher education art and design college, based in Middlesbrough and Hartlepool in the north-east of England. The college was called Cleveland College of Art and Design after the former non-metropolitan county of Cleveland, operational from 1974 to 1996. In April 2018 it was announced that the college would change its name to The Northern School of Art effective from September 2018.The college's current principal is Martin Raby.

The Tees Newport Bridge is a vertical-lift bridge spanning the River Tees a short distance upriver from Tees Transporter Bridge, linking Middlesbrough with the borough of Stockton-on-Tees, Northern England. It no longer lifts, but still acts as a road bridge in its permanently down position.

BBC Radio Tees is the BBC's local radio station serving the Tees Valley and the northern parts of North Yorkshire, including Whitby. It broadcasts on FM, DAB, digital TV and via BBC Sounds from studios on Newport Road in Middlesbrough. According to RAJAR, the station has a weekly audience of 126,000 listeners and a 3.7% share as of September 2023.
