Hertford Heath nature reserve

Haileybury and Imperial Service College is an English co-educational independent boarding and day school for 11- to 18-year-olds near Hertford in England. It is a member of the Rugby Group and enrols pupils at the 11+, 13+ and 16+ stages of education. Over 890 pupils attend Haileybury, of whom more than 550 board. The campus occupies over 500 acres of Hertfordshire countryside, approximately 20 miles from London.

Little Amwell was a village and civil parish in Hertfordshire, England, lying 1.6 miles (2.6 km) south-east of the county town of Hertford. The old village of Little Amwell forms the northern part of the modern village of Hertford Heath. The civil parish of Little Amwell was abolished in 1990, merging with parts of the neighbouring parishes of Great Amwell, Stanstead St Margarets, and Ware to form the new parish of Hertford Heath. Little Amwell remains the name of the ecclesiastical parish which covers Hertford Heath. In 1961 the parish had a population of 982.

Balls Wood is a 58.5-hectare (145-acre) nature reserve managed by the Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust in Hertford Heath in East Hertfordshire. The wood was purchased by the Trust from the Forestry Commission.The northern part has mature coppiced hornbeams together with ash and field maple. There are breeding birds such as great spotted woodpeckers and sparrowhawks. The site also has open rides which provide a habitat for insects such as white admiral butterflies and wild flowers including bluebells, wood anemones and early purple orchids. There are many ponds which support aquatic invertebrates.There is access by going along The Roundings from London Road past Hertford Heath nature reserve, turning right along Elbow Lane and left into Balls Wood.

The East Herts Miniature Railway (EHMR) is situated in the Van Hage Garden Centre, Great Amwell near Ware, Hertfordshire. It opened in 1978 and by 2006 had carried 1 million passengers. As of 2022, the railway has carried more than 2 million people over its forty-year history. The railway is popular with locals.The current length of the track is around 1/4 of a mile. The site comprises a station with canopy and booking office, bridge, engine shed, tunnel, turntable, signal box (with ex London Underground Westinghouse 'B' style lever frame from Hyde Park Corner), steaming bays, level crossing, water tower and workshop.

Woollens Brook, a minor tributary of the River Lea, rises close to Ermine Street, south of Hertford Heath (51.7745°N 0.0410°W / 51.7745; -0.0410 (Woollens Brook, source)) and flows through Box Wood in Hertfordshire. The stream flows under both the A10 and the Dinant Link Road roundabout with Amwell Street. The stream then runs parallel with Essex Road before going under it and through the Lampits where it joins another minor tributary of the River Lea, the River Lynch, at Bridgeways (51.7625°N 0.0043°W / 51.7625; -0.0043 (Woollens Brook, mouth)).

Foxholes is an eastern suburb of Hertford, Hertfordshire, England. It is situated to the north of the older Foxholes Farm, which over the years has served as the headquarters for the regional Eastern Hertfordshire Archaeological Group, which works in close collaboration with the Hertford Museum. The farm has a shop and café. The modern housing estate sits on the site of an old gravel pit, known as Foxholes Quarry.

Presdales School is a girls' secondary school with academy status, located in Ware, Hertfordshire in the East of England. The school also operates a coeducational sixth form. The current headmaster is M Warren, who took the post in 2016.

Hoddesdon Cemetery is the burial ground for the town of Hoddesdon in Hertfordshire in the UK and is owned and maintained by the Borough of Broxbourne. Located on Ware Road in Hoddesdon, the first interment was in February 1883 since when over 11,000 burials have taken place in the cemetery. Among these are nine casualties from World War I and 15 from World War II in plots maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. The small cemetery chapel is still in use and is usually open during daytime.

Corkbush Field is the land to the east of Hertford along the Ware road, lying between the King's Meads at the bottom of the valley of the River Lea and the higher ground to the south known as Barrow Green Common. It is alternatively known as Cockbush Field in some sources as the 'r' and 'c' are similar in some 17th Century handwriting. It was the site of the Ware Mutiny, also known as the Corkbush Field Mutiny of 15 November 1647.
