Hornsby Plateau

Hornsby is a suburb on the Upper North Shore of Sydney in the state of New South Wales, Australia, approximately 23 kilometres (14 mi) north-west of the Sydney central business district. It is the administrative centre of the local government area of Hornsby Shire.

The Hornsby Water Clock, titled Man, Time and the Environment is a piece of kinetic sculpture, a decorative fountain and a functional clock in the Florence Street pedestrian mall in Hornsby, New South Wales, Australia. Unveiled in 1993, the sculpture was designed and engineered by Victor Cusack and constructed of bronze, stainless steel and glass by Victor and his foundry floor manager Rex Feakes. Construction, including alterations to the mall, cost over A$1 million and took two and half years; thereafter, chicken bones and other carelessly discarded items caused many breakdowns before the water filtration system was upgraded.

Hornsby railway station is located at the junction of the Main Northern and North Shore lines, serving the Sydney suburb of Hornsby. It is served by Sydney Trains T1 North Shore Line and T9 Northern Line services and NSW TrainLink Intercity and regional services.

Hornsby Girls' High School is a government-funded single-sex academically selective secondary day school for girls, located in Hornsby, a suburb on the Upper North Shore of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Founded in 1930, the school's first principal was Sarah Agnes Angus Brewster.Academically, Hornsby Girls' is regularly ranked first in the Hornsby region in terms of Higher School Certificate (HSC) results and is repeatedly ranked as one of the top five performing schools in the state.The school has a student exchange program with three of their languages – Japanese, French and German. Their Japanese sister school is Shukutoku Yono which is situated in Saitama, their German sister school is Graf-Rasso in Furstenfeldbruck and students from the school have visited New Caledonia a few times in recent years.

Hornsby Shire is a local government area situated in Northern Sydney (Upper North Shore), as well as parts of the Hills District, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. The shire stretches from the M2 Hills Motorway in the south to the Hawkesbury River town of Wisemans Ferry, some 53 kilometres (33 mi) to the north, making it the largest local government council in the Greater Sydney Metropolitan region by total area. As of the 2016 census the shire had an estimated population of 142,667.The mayor of Hornsby Shire is Cr Philip Ruddock, a member of the Liberal Party, who was elected on 9 September 2017.

Barker College is an independent Anglican co-educational early learning, primary and secondary day and boarding school, located in Hornsby, a North Shore suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Barker was founded in 1890 by Rev. Henry Plume at Kurrajong Heights. In 2016 Barker announced a transition to a fully co-educational school, commencing in 2018 with girls in early learning and Kindergarten, in 2019 with girls in Year 3; in 2020 with girls in Year 7. It includes boarding facilities. The school also incorporates three campuses for Aboriginal children. Two in NSW and the third Dhupuma Barker, in North East Arnhem Land in 2021. The Council of Barker College was originally constituted by the Barker College Ordinance of 1919. In 1939, Barker College was incorporated pursuant to the provisions of the Anglican Church of Australia (Bodies Corporate) Act 1938. Therefore, though Barker College is an Anglican school, it is separately incorporated and has its own governing body. Barker is affiliated with the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference, the Association of Heads of Independent Schools of Australia, the Junior School Heads Association of Australia, the Australian Boarding Schools' Association, the Independent Schools Association, and is a founding member of the Combined Associated Schools.

Waitara is a suburb in the Northern Sydney region of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia 19 kilometres north-west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of Hornsby Shire.

Waitara railway station is located on the North Shore line, serving the Sydney suburb of Waitara. It is served by Sydney Trains T1 North Shore line services. And is the last station on the North Shore Line (Hornsby-Wynyard) that does not have a lift.

Old Man's Valley Cemetery is a heritage-listed former cemetery and now memorial landscape at Old Man's Valley, off Quarry Road, Hornsby in the Hornsby Shire local government area of New South Wales, Australia. It was designed by and built by members of the Higgins family between 1879 and 1931 with the assistance of monumental masons. It is also known as Higgin's Family Cemetery, Old Mans Valley Cemetery and Higgins Family Cemetery. The property is owned by Hornsby Shire Council. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 22 December 2006.

Our Lady of the Rosary Cathedral, Waitara is the Roman Catholic cathedral church of the Diocese of Broken Bay, located in Waitara, Sydney, New South Wales. Australia. The cathedral is the seat of the Catholic Bishop of Broken Bay, currently the Most Reverend Anthony Randazzo.

Hornsby Maintenance Depot is a train depot in the northern Sydney suburb of Asquith, New South Wales, Australia, that primarily services the Sydney Trains fleet. It is located to the north of Hornsby station, a major interchange on the Sydney Trains network, and alongside the Main North line. The depot opened in 1928 and was one of four electric train depots built under the Bradfield electrification plan, the other depots being at Mortdale, Flemington and Punchbowl (later closed).The depot features nine roads under the main shed (numbered 1–9), five outdoor roads (numbered 11–15), two of which (11 and 12) are elevated, a train washing facility (16 road) and several short outdoor storage sidings. There are also 8 sidings south of depot used for stabling only. The track layout is such that trains can only enter from the south. It is a stabling location for A (Waratah) sets, T (Tangara) sets and H (OSCAR) sets and crew depot, for services on the Central Coast, Northern, North Shore, and Western lines. It is also a maintenance depot for T sets.

St Leo's Catholic College is a Catholic systemic secondary day school for boys and girls, located in the Upper North Shore suburb of Wahroonga in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Situated in the Diocese of Broken Bay, the high school currently has approximately 800 students from Year 7 to Year 12. The school's patron saint is Leo the Great, one of the early Popes of the Catholic Church.
