Couvent des Jacobins de la rue Saint-Honoré

The rue de La Sourdière is a street in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, in France. According to the French magazine "Challenges", it is one of the hundred most expensive streets in Paris. During the French Revolution, Maximilien de Robespierre survived a riot by entering the church of Saint Roch (located in the rue Saint-Honoré) and taking a tunnel to 10 rue de la Sourdière.

In the history of France, the First Republic (French: Première République), sometimes referred to in historiography as Revolutionary France, and officially the French Republic (République française), was founded on 21 September 1792 during the French Revolution. The Church of Saint-Roch (French: Église Saint-Roch) is a late Baroque 126 meter-long church in Paris, dedicated to Saint Roch. Located at 284 rue Saint-Honoré, in the 1st arrondissement, it was built between 1653 and 1740.The church is organized as a series of chapels. One of them is dedicated to Saint Susanna in memory of the church which used to stand in its place. Accordingly, there is a mural painting above the altar, showing Saint Susanna fleeing her attackers, and looking up to the heavens for the help of God.

The Avenue de l'Opéra was created from 1864 to 1879 as part of Haussmann's renovation of Paris. It is situated in the center of the city, running northwest from the Louvre to the Palais Garnier, the primary opera house of Paris (until the opening of the Opéra Bastille in 1989).

The Hôtel Baudard de Saint-James is a former hôtel particulier located at no 12, place Vendôme in the 1st arrondissement of Paris.Built in 1702, for the doctor of the Sorbonne, Louis Dublineau, by the architect Jacques V Gabriel, it owes its name to Claude Baudard de Saint-James, who was its second owner. The hotel has decorations created in 1777 by François-Joseph Bélanger and the painter Jean-Jacques Lagrenée. In 1849, the Polish composer Chopin died at the Hôtel Baudard de Saint-James. It is now owned by the Crédit Foncier de France and is occupied by the jeweler Chaumet.

Colette was a French high fashion, streetwear, and accessory retailer. The three floor 8,000 square feet (740 m2) concept store was located in Paris and contained an exhibition space, bookshop, and a "water bar" serving more than 100 brands of bottled water. It closed permanently in December 2017. Colette's logo was two blue dots.

Charvet Place Vendôme, pronounced [ʃaʁvɛ plas vɑ̃dɔm], or simply Charvet, is a French high-end shirt maker and tailor located at 28 Place Vendôme in Paris. It designs, produces and sells bespoke and ready-to-wear shirts, neckties, blouses, pyjamas and suits, in the Paris store and internationally through luxury retailers. The world's first ever shirt shop, Charvet was founded in 1838. Since the 19th century, it has supplied bespoke shirts and haberdashery to kings, princes and heads of state. It has acquired an international reputation for the high quality of its products, the level of its service and the wide range of its designs and colors. Thanks to the renown of its ties, charvet has become a generic name for a certain type of silk fabric used for ties.

General Delegation for the French language and the languages of France (French: Délégation générale à la langue française et aux langues de France, DGLFLF) is, in France, a unit of the Ministry of Culture and Communication. Its mission is to lead, at the interdepartmental level, the language policy of France, concerning both the French and regional languages.

Harry's New York Bar is a bar in Paris, France located at 5, Rue Daunou, between the Avenue de l'Opéra and the Rue de la Paix. The bar was acquired by former American star jockey Tod Sloan in 1911, who converted it from a bistro and renamed it the "New York Bar." Sloan had gone partners with a New Yorker named Clancy (no one seems to know his first name) who owned a bar in Manhattan. That bar was dismantled and shipped to Paris. Sloan then hired Harry MacElhone, a barman from Dundee, Scotland, to run the place.

The Couvent des Capucines (Convent of the Capucins) is a former convent of the Order of the Capuchin Poor Clares, located in Paris on the site of the current Place Vendôme. The convent was built by Marie de Luxembourg, Duchess of Mercœur. It was destroyed in 1806.
