Dinosaur Hill Park (also known as Dino Hill) is a park in Pleasant Hill, California. Located off Taylor Blvd, the park includes 13 acres (5.3 hectares) of open space, hiking, and scenic views. The elevation is 308 feet. There is a small parking area accessible only by northbound traffic. From here a staircase and railroad tie steps lead to the top of the hill. The park is one of several parks owned and managed by the Pleasant Hill Recreation and Park District. The park offers good views of Mount Diablo and is popular on the 4th of July as several simultaneous (although distant) fireworks displays can be seen. The park offers a panoramic view of Pleasant Hill, Concord, and Walnut Creek and the northern reach of the Diablo Range.

Lafayette Morehouse is an intentional community conceived in 1968 in Lafayette, California. The lifestyle it practices is often referred to as “Morehouse”. Inspired by its founder Dr. Victor Baranco and his first wife Dr. Suzanne Baranco, and now by his widow Dr. Cynthia Baranco, Morehouse has been a continuous experiment in group living for over 50 years, one of few such communities still in existence from the 1960s.Residents of Lafayette Morehouse consider themselves to be social researchers studying the nature of pleasurable group living. They believe that group living best fits the nature of humans and can lead to the most enjoyable life. Victor Baranco recognized that to sustain a cohesive group it was imperative to handle communication, sensuality, and decision-making. Those areas became among their topics of research. The group's findings are presented to the public in the form of courses, and the group receives no outside funding that could bias its findings.

Acalanes Ridge is a census-designated place in Contra Costa County, California. Acalanes Ridge sits at an elevation of 499 feet (152 m). The population was 1,285 at the 2020 Census. Walnut Creek has a total population of 70,127 per the 2020 census, is located at the junction of the highways from Sacramento and San Jose (I-680) and San Francisco/Oakland (SR-24), and is accessible by BART. The city shares its borders with Clayton, Lafayette, Alamo, Pleasant Hill, and Concord.

Waldon is a former census-designated place (CDP) in Contra Costa County, California, United States. The population was 5,133 at the 2000 census. It is served by Pleasant Hill/​Contra Costa Centre station on the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) Yellow Line, and by Interstate 680. The area has been undergoing a series of transit-oriented development projects under the auspices of the Contra Costa Centre Transit Village public/private partnership. Waldon's territory has been assumed by Contra Costa Centre CDP for the 2010 census.

Contra Costa Centre is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Contra Costa County, California. Contra Costa Centre sits at an elevation of 92 feet (28 m). The 2010 United States census reported Contra Costa Centre's population was 5,364, while the 2020 census figure was 6,808. Contra Costa Centre is served by the Pleasant Hill / Contra Costa Centre BART station. It is the successor to the Waldon CDP of the 2000 census.

The Patrick Rodgers Farm, or Rodgers Ranch, is a historic home and ranch located in Pleasant Hill, California. In 1991, the property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Diablo Valley refers to a valley in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area, to the west/northwest of Mount Diablo. The valley contains the cities of Clayton, Concord, Martinez, Pleasant Hill (home to Diablo Valley College), most of Walnut Creek (The southern end is a part of the San Ramon Valley) and the CDP of Pacheco. The Diablo Valley has a diverse population both ethnically, and socio-economically. West of the Diablo Valley lies the Briones Regional Park and the Lamorinda area.

The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection is located on Gregory Lane in Pleasant Hill, California. It is a member church of the Episcopal Diocese of California. It was formed as an Episcopal mission on July 1, 1959 and the vicar was the Reverend Richard Shackell. Church of the Resurrection became a parish on March 16, 1967. Because there was no church building, the congregation met at the Pleasant Hill Bowling Alley and later met at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Pleasant Hill during the construction of Resurrection’s church building. Many members of the congregation volunteered in the building of the new church. The first church services in the new building were held on March 3, 1962. This was a service of Holy Communion for those who were working on the church. The church building was officially dedicated on April 29, 1962, by Right Reverend James A. Pike, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of California.

Rancho Cañada del Hambre y Las Bolsas was a 13,354-acre (54.04 km2) Mexican land grant in present day northwestern Contra Costa County, California. It was given in 1842 by Governor Juan Alvarado to Teodora Soto. The grant consisted of "Cañada del Hambre" which means "Valley of Hunger" in Spanish, and "Las Bolsas del Hambre" which refers to "pockets" of land. The rancho extended from present day Crockett to Martinez and south to Lafayette.
