Emmaus College is an independent Roman Catholic comprehensive co-educational secondary day school, that serves the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The school has a Main Campus (years 7, 8, 10, 11 and 12) in Vermont South and a Year 9 campus in Burwood. It has a population of approximately 1,400 students and slowly growing. Emmaus College is a member of the Eastern Independent Schools of Melbourne (EISM) Sporting Association (joined in 1989). Emmaus was used as external shots for Erinsborough High in Neighbours.

Ashwood High School is a coeducational public school located in Ashwood, Victoria, Australia. Ashwood offers a wide range of academic subjects and in 2016 introduced an Accelerated Curriculum and Enrichment Program (ACE). This program is unique in that it is the only secondary school in the seat of Burwood with an accelerated learning program. As of November 2019, the curriculum has expanded to include an extensive arts programme. In early 2013 the school was allowed a grant to rebuild the majority of the classroom facilities, which includes the Middle School Centre (opened in late 2014), as well as the Senior School Centre, which opened in 2016.

Allambie Reception Centre was a former reception, treatment, classification and transit centre for children admitted to the care of the Victorian Government in Australia. The centre operated between 1961 and 1990 and was initially managed by the Family Welfare Division of the Social Welfare Department, later the Department of Community Welfare Services and Community Services Victoria. Located at 70 Elgar Road, Burwood, Victoria, the centre was designed to accommodate up to 100 children following a breakdown in home release, foster care or a children's home placement.

Since 2007, Rabbi James Kennard has been principal of Mount Scopus Memorial College.

South Surrey Park is a park in Melbourne, Australia, located in the suburb of Surrey Hills. The park is progressively being replanted with indigenous native species. It is currently maintained by the City of Boroondara and the Friends of South Surrey Park. South Surrey Park follows the course of Back Creek from Union Road in the north to Riversdale Road in the South. There are well graded walking paths throughout the park, and a children's playground adjacent to Verdun Street.

Burwood railway station is located on the Alamein line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the eastern Melbourne suburb of Glen Iris, and it opened on 30 May 1890 as Hartwell. It was renamed Burwood on 1 August 1909.Burwood was part of the first section of the Outer Circle line. It was closed for a brief stint from May 1897 until July 1898, after the closure of the Outer Circle line. However, after a public outcry, it soon reopened, first as part of the Deepdene Dasher steam service. In 1927, Burwood became part of the Ashburton line, which was then extended to Alamein on 28 June 1948, becoming the present day Alamein line. The station is named after Burwood House, which was built by Sir James Frederick Palmer in 1852.
