Princeton High School is a public high school located in Princeton, North Carolina, United States. It serves grades 6–12 and is part of the Johnston County School District. Princeton High School has 1,465 students. Princeton Elementary School, grades K–5, located a few miles away, became a separate school at the start of the 2008–2009 school year.

Princeton Graded School is a historic Rosenwald school located at Princeton, Johnston County, North Carolina. It was built in 1925–1926, is a six-teacher, H-shaped frame school building sheathed in brick. The building has two additions: a one-story, brick hip-roof extension containing two bathrooms; and a low, one-story, brick, asymmetrical gable-roof section that housed the furnace. It retains an original shed-roof porch supported by Doric order posts. Also on the property are a contributing cemetery (ca. 1934-1961) with less than 20 visible markers and a septic tank (c. 1950). The school was closed by 1973. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

The O'Berry Neuro-Medical Center is a public hospital in Goldsboro, North Carolina, United States, owned by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. Its original goal was to help the intellectually disabled achieve independence by teaching them self-help skills and productive vocations. It has recently expanded its focus to include those who are either elderly or medically fragile along with having an intellectual disability. The facility now serves a 23-county South Central Region and handles 144 residents. It is one of three Neuro-Medical Treatment Centers in North Carolina, the others being Longleaf (formerly Wilson) and Black Mountain.

Kenly is a town in Johnston and Wilson counties in the U.S. state of North Carolina. It was named for John R. Kenly, Northern Division Superintendent of the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad, who later became president of the railroad in 1913. The population was 1,339 at the 2010 census, down from 1,569 in 2000.

Selma Union Depot, also known as Selma Union Station and Selma–Smithfield, is a train station and museum in Selma, North Carolina, and near the town of Smithfield. Built in 1924, it is currently served by two Amtrak passenger trains, the Palmetto and the Carolinian. It is located at 500 East Railroad Street in the heart of downtown Selma. The Silver Meteor and the Silver Star have their northern split here, but do not stop in Selma.

Cherry Hospital is an inpatient regional referral psychiatric hospital located in Goldsboro, North Carolina, United States. As one of three psychiatric hospitals operated by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, it provides services to 38 counties in the eastern region of North Carolina. It is part of the Division of State Operated Healthcare Facilities within the Department of Health and Human Services, which oversees and manages 14 state-operated healthcare facilities that treat adults and children with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders. The Division's psychiatric hospitals provide comprehensive inpatient mental health services to people with psychiatric illness who cannot be safely treated at a lower level of care. Cherry Hospital's treatment units include Adolescent, Adult Acute Admissions, Geriatric Admissions, Psychiatric Rehabilitation, and Psychiatric Medical to serve those with complex acute care needs, providing a level of care not available in their own communities.

It encompasses 59 contributing buildings and 1 contributing structure in the central business district of Selma. It includes notable examples of Classical Revival, Colonial Revival, Art Moderne, Art Deco, and Gothic Revival style architecture and buildings dating from about 1875 to 1960. Notable buildings include the Bank of Selma/American Telephone and Telegraph Exchange Building (1912; 1985), Economy Furniture (c. 1920), John A. Mitchener Building (1925), The Rudy Theater (c. 1940; c. 1970), The Hardware Store (c. 1910), Bank of Selma (c. 1910), Selma Baptist Church (1908; 1948), and Selma Manufacturing Company/Selma Furniture Store and Opera House (1902).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.
