Detroit Detention Center

Mound Correctional Facility was a Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) prison located in eastern Detroit, Michigan. It was adjacent to the Detroit Reentry Center (formerly the Ryan Correctional Facility). The facility which housed Mound was reopened in August 2013 as the Detroit Detention Center.

The Philetus W. Norris House is located in Detroit, Michigan, near the corner of Mound Road and Davison Avenue. It was built in 1873 by Philetus W. Norris, who went on to become the second superintendent of Yellowstone National Park. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992 but was substantially destroyed by fire in 2016.

The Church of the Transfiguration Historic District is a group of buildings associated with what was the Church of the Transfiguration Roman Catholic parish (and is now the Saint John Paul II parish), located at 5830 Simon K in Detroit, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2019.

As a strikingly controversial project in 1941, Sojourner Truth Project set precedents for Detroit housing project policy through the next decade. Created by the Detroit Housing Commission (DHC) and United States Housing Authority (USHA), the proposed 200 units would alleviate housing shortages caused by the wartime climate of World War II. However, the project was met with extreme backlash from white residents and middle-class black homeowners in Conant Gardens. Violence erupted in 1942 when black families moved into the project housing. More than a thousand black supporters and white opponents crowded streets culminating in violent displays later characterized as the Sojourner Truth riot.

The Edmund Atkinson School is a school building located at 4900 East Hildale Street in Detroit, Michigan. It is currently operating as Legacy Charter Academy. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

Krainz Woods (colloquially known as Krainz and Krainz Park) is a neighborhood in Detroit, Michigan. The neighborhood was named after Captain John Krainz Jr., a World War II hero from Detroit. The neighborhood was once home to Malcolm X, who lived on Keystone Street in the 1950s, and Spencer Haywood in the 1960s. The Sojourner Truth housing project is located there. Many Motown singing groups, such as The Dramatics and The Floaters, were from the Sojourner Truth housing projects. In 2009, Mayor of Detroit Dave Bing led a ribbon-cutting dedication of Krainz Park.

The Elizabeth Cleveland Intermediate School, also known as Elizabeth Cleveland Middle School, is a historic building located at 13322 Conant Street in Detroit, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015. The school is an excellent example of Collegiate Gothic style, with no alteration to its exterior since construction. The building is still in use as a school, and now houses Frontier International Academy.

Detroit Reentry Center (RRF), previously the Ryan Correctional Facility, was a prison of the Michigan Department of Corrections located in eastern Detroit, Michigan. It is adjacent to the Detroit Detention Center.

Mount Elliott Tool and Die is a Stellantis North America automotive stamping plant in Detroit, Michigan that produces Stamping Dies, Checking Fixtures, Stamping Fixtures. It was built in 1938 by the Briggs Manufacturing Company. Chrysler purchased the plant in 1956 and it became Outer Drive Stamping plant. The facility became a tool and die plant after Vernor Tool & Die closed in 1983 and moved their operations there. The facility was then renamed Outer Drive Manufacturing Technology Center. After the "Pilot Operations" and "Advanced Stamping Manufacturing Engineering" were moved to Chrysler Headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan in the 1980s, the facility was renamed "Mt. Elliott Tool and Die". Mount Elliott currently employs around 300 people and is home to UAW Local 212. As of late 2018 Mount Elliot is currently idled.

The Dorais Velodrome is an abandoned outdoor velodrome in Dorais Park in Detroit, Michigan, USA. It was built in 1969 for $50,000 with mostly volunteer labor by the Michigan Bicycling Federation. The site was donated by the City of Detroit. The track is a one-fifth-mile banked concrete track. It officially opened in late July 1969 prior to the National Bicycle Racing Championships.Numerous races and bicycle training classes were held on the track between 1969 and 1989. These were typically organized by the Wolverine Sports Club and the Detroit Recreation Department. The track deteriorated over time making it no longer suitable for track racing. In 1993, the City of Detroit held a public hearing for a replacement track. In 1997, the cost to rebuild the track was estimated at $700,000 according to John Jones of the Detroit Recreation Department. By then, plans were underway to build an outdoor velodrome at Bloomer Park in Rochester Hills, Michigan.

Mound Road Engine was a Chrysler automobile engine factory in Detroit. Chrysler acquired the plant as part of its purchase of the Briggs Manufacturing Company in 1953. The plant was closed by DaimlerChrysler in 2002, with production shifting to the Mack Avenue Engine Complex. Chrysler briefly used the facility for making aircraft components, and transferred it to the Plymouth division in 1954. Plymouth added 71,000 square feet (6,600 m2) to the existing plant, bringing its size to just over 539,000 sq ft (50,100 m2). By the time engine production began in 1955, it housed what was at the time the world's longest assembly line.The factory was home to Chrysler's production of the small-block Chrysler A engine, a V8 used in Plymouth vehicles, then later the LA V8, or "Light A", as it weighed nearly 50 pounds less than the "A" engine it was closely based on. Later, the plant built the LA-based Magnum V10 engine. The factory was in operation for 47 years. The facility was torn down in late 2003 and the land paved over because it was cheaper to pay taxes on a parking lot than an empty building. The newly paved area, as well as the old employee parking lots, are now used to store vehicles that were manufactured at Warren Truck Assembly before shipping them to dealerships. Mount Elliott Tool and Die, another Chrysler facility, is located directly behind what used to be the Mound Road Engine plant. The facility was located at 20300 Mound Road, Detroit, Michigan.

Mount Olivet Cemetery (usually abbreviated and stylized as Mt. Olivet Cemetery) is a cemetery at 17100 Van Dyke Avenue in the city of Detroit in Wayne County, Michigan. It is owned and operated by the Mt. Elliott Cemetery Association, a not-for-profit Catholic organization that is otherwise administered independently from the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit and any of the various Catholic religious orders active in Metro Detroit. At 320 acres (130 ha), it is the largest cemetery in Detroit, although it no longer promotes itself publicly as a Catholic establishment.
