Bersham Ironworks

Rhostyllen (pronounced [r̥ɔsˈtəɬən], Ross-tuth-l'n) was a minor railway station of the Great Western Railway, located on the Rhos Branch just off the Shrewsbury to Chester Line a couple of miles south of Wrexham in Wales. Rhostyllen was a mining area and the rail-served Bersham Colliery was just to the south. According to the Official Handbook of Stations the following classes of traffic were being handled at this station in 1956: G & P† and there was no crane. It is curious that parcels and miscellaneous traffic was still being handled here at that date, twenty five years after the station had closed to passengers.

Rhostyllen Football Club is a Welsh football club from Rhostyllen in Wrexham County Borough. The club was founded in 2015 and they currently play in the North East Wales Football League Premier Division, which is at tier four of the Welsh football pyramid.

Bersham (Welsh: Y Bers; standardised: Bers) is a village in Wrexham County Borough, Wales, that lies next to the River Clywedog, and is in the community of Esclusham. Bersham was historically a major industrial centre of the area, but despite this the village still retains a rural feeling.

Bersham Colliery was a large coal mine located near Rhostyllen in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. The mine accessed seams found in the Denbighshire Coalfield.

The Clywedog Trail is a 9-mile (14 km) footpath close to Wrexham in Wales. Starting at the Minera Lead Mines (53.0512°N 3.0811°W / 53.0512; -3.0811 (Clywedog Trail, Minera Lead Mines trailhead)) and running to King's Mills (53.0358°N 2.9750°W / 53.0358; -2.9750 (Clywedog Trail, King's Mills trailhead)), it follows the course of the River Clywedog. It is a haven for walking, relaxation and enjoying the peace of the wildlife. The Clywedog region played a role in the Industrial Revolution; ironmaking began in 1670, smelting iron ore with coke began in 1721 and John Wilkinson set up shop in 1761. For many years the area was one of the most important iron manufacturing centres in the world.

Rhostyllen () is a village in Wrexham County Borough, Wales, south-west of the city of Wrexham. At the time of the 2001 census, area Wrexham 014A, which includes Rhostyllen itself, had a population of 1,383 in 599 households.

Brickfield Rangers F.C. is a Welsh football club based in Wrexham. They play in the Ardal Leagues North West, which is in the third tier of the Welsh football league system.

Cefn Albion Football Club is a Welsh football club representing the village of Cefn Mawr in Wrexham County Borough. The club was founded in 2013 and plays in the Ardal Leagues North East, in the third tier of the Welsh football league system.

Moss Valley branch was a two mile long single track line built by the Great Western Railway in what is now the county borough of Wrexham, Wales. It ran from a junction with the Wrexham and Minera Railway at Moss Valley Junction to Moss Halt (or Moss Platform) via three intermediate stations: Gatewen Halt, Pentre Broughton Halt, and Gwersyllt Hill Halt.

Pentre Bychan (Welsh for 'little village') is a semi-rural hamlet in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. Variously spelled as either one word or two (Pentre Bychan or Pentrebychan), it is situated between Rhostyllen and Johnstown in the ward and community of Esclusham, some 4 km south-west of Wrexham city centre.

Caego is a village in Wrexham County Borough, Wales, immediately to the west of the city of Wrexham in the community of Broughton. It is contiguous with the neighbouring larger village of New Broughton; the main road passing through the centre of the village is the B5101. Its name can perhaps be translated as "the field (cae) of the smith". The village lies in the parish of Berse, whose name has the same origin as the nearby village of Bersham. The name, still sometimes applied to the area of Caego, was originally that of a common and later came to apply to the whole township of Berse or Bersham; it may be based on an Old English personal name or on the Middle English word "berse", meaning a hedge of osiers. Nearby farms are still known as Higher Berse and Little Berse. Berse parish, however, was created only in June 1934, when it was formed from parts of the parishes of Rhosddu and Wrexham, while most of the houses making up Caego village were built in the 1930s or later. Many of the pre-World War II houses were built by the brothers, Evan and Robert Thomas Williams. The village's main landmark is the small eighteenth-century Berse (or Berse Drelincourt) Parish Church, which is now Grade II listed. Originally known as the "Capel Madam", it was built in 1742 by Mrs Mary Drelincourt, widow of Peter or Pierre Drelincourt (1644–1722), the Dean of Armagh, and was originally attached to a small girls' charity school. The church, which does not have a specific dedication, was consecrated in 1759, enlarged in 1828 (to accommodate pews for landowners Thomas Hayes of Gatewen Hall, and Thomas Fitzhugh of Plas Power), and restored in 1862. As of 2010 the church has been taken out of use and put up for sale by the Church in Wales. The Great Western Railway's branch to the Moss Valley ran through the village until the 1930s. It was reinstated for a period in the 1960s and 1970s to serve a coal disposal point at Gatewen.

New Broughton (standard Welsh: New Broughton; sometimes Brychdyn Newydd; ) is a former industrial village located in Wrexham, North Wales. The population is 3,173, according to the 2001 census, increasing to 3,448 at the 2011 Census.It is part of the wider Broughton local government community, and is situated between Southsea (to the North) and Caego (to the South). Still widely regarded a working-class area, in recent years, new housing estates have been built and attracted more middle-class families, who tend to live just outside the village, on the hill.
