Gen. William C. Lee House

Kenneth L. Howard House, also known as the Women's Club of Dunn, is a historic home located near Dunn, Harnett County, North Carolina. It was built in 1908–1909, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, three-bay, Colonial Revival style frame mansion. It has a high hipped roof crowned by a mock widow's walk and features a two-story free Ionic order portico and one-story wraparound porch. The house is a copy of the North Carolina Building at the Jamestown Exposition of 1907. In 1953 it was acquired as the headquarters of the Woman's Club.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

John A. McKay House and Manufacturing Company is a historic home and factory complex located at Dunn, Harnett County, North Carolina. The house was built about 1840, and is a two-story, double pile, Greek Revival style frame dwelling. It features a full-facade, one-story porch and two-story, portico. Associated with the house are a barn, later remodeled with garage doors, a smokehouse, a storage/wash house, and fence. The main factory building was built in 1903, and is a two-story U-shaped building, with a two-story shed, gable roofed ell, and another ell. Other contributing factory buildings are an office (1937), two privies, McKay Manufacturing Company building (1910), trailer assembly room (c. 1930), steel house (1910), foundry (1910), cleaning rooms (1910), wood storage building (1935), boiler room (c. 1925), pattern room (c. 1925), and flask shop (1910).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

It encompasses 54 contributing buildings and one contributing structure in the central business district of Dunn. The predominantly commercial buildings were built between about 1900 and 1959, and includes notable examples of Italianate style architecture. Notable buildings include the Fitchett Drug Store (c. 1912), Cottondale Hotel (1924), Fleishman Brothers Company building (c. 1925), Prince's Department Store Building (c. 1930), Christo-Cola Bottling Works Building (c. 1913), White Way Theater Building (c. 1904), Johnson Cotton Company Building (c. 1925), and (former) Dunn Post Office (1937).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

Harnett County Training School, also known as Harnett High School, is a historic school complex for African-American students located at Dunn, Harnett County, North Carolina. The complex was built between 1922 and 1956, and consists of one two-story and five single-story brick buildings. They include a gable front combined Gymnasium/Auditorium (1948); the two-story, 14 teacher, flat-roofed, Colonial Revival-style Rosenwald-funded Harnett County Training School (1922); a detached brick boiler room (1950); two, one-story, flat-roofed Library and Office Building and Cafeteria buildings (1956); and a one-story, flat-roofed Rosenwald-funded classroom annex added in 1927, now designated the Education Building.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

The Battle of Averasborough or the Battle of Averasboro, fought March 16, 1865, in Harnett and Cumberland counties, North Carolina, as part of the Carolinas Campaign of the American Civil War, was a prelude to the climactic Battle of Bentonville, which began three days later.

The locally owned outlet airs church services and other related programming on Sundays in addition to the musical shows. WCKB is owned by NC Central Broadcasters. It transmits with 7,000 watts of power during the day and 1 watt at night. 780 AM is a United States clear-channel frequency. WCKB reduces nighttime power to prevent interference with the skywave signal of WBBM in Chicago.

Duke Township is one of thirteen townships in Harnett County, North Carolina, United States. The township had a population of 5,965 according to the 2000 census and is the largest township in Harnett County by population. It is a part of the Dunn Micropolitan Area, which is also a part of the greater Raleigh–Durham–Cary Combined Statistical Area (CSA) as defined by the United States Census Bureau. Geographically, Duke Township occupies 18.6 square miles (48 km2) in southeastern Harnett County. The only incorporated municipality within Duke Township is Erwin. The town of Erwin was also formerly known as Duke.

WUAW (88.3 FM) is an educational radio station featuring genres including adult contemporary, alternative rock, top-40, and country music. Licensed to Erwin, North Carolina, it serves the Erwin, Dunn, Coats and Lillington areas. The station is currently owned by Central Carolina Community College as part of its Broadcast Production Technology program. Under the guidance of WUAW Chief Engineer, Dr. Jim Davis, WUAW now operates 24 hours a day. WUAW not only serves the citizens of Harnett and surrounding countries but is a training facility for future broadcasters. The station's transmitter and tower remain 64/100 of a mile east of U.S. Highway 421 or 215 Maynard Lake Road in Erwin, North Carolina.

Triton High School is a traditional public high school which opened in October 1985, which currently houses 1,308 students in grades nine through twelve, and 126 instructional staff members. Triton is one of six high schools in the Harnett County School System.

Erwin is a town that is located in the eastern part of Harnett County, North Carolina, United States, located approximately 5 miles (8.0 km) from Dunn and approximately 20 miles (32 km) from Fayetteville. The city is a part of the Dunn, NC Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is additionally a part of the greater Raleigh-Durham-Cary, NC CSA, according to the United States Census Bureau. Currently, the city has a population of 5,270 as of the 2020 census. Its current mayor is Randy Baker, who has been the mayor since being elected on May 17, 2022.
