Delyn was a local government district with borough status from 1974 to 1996, being one of six districts in the county of Clwyd, north-east Wales.

Bagillt railway station was a railway station serving the village of Bagillt on the North Wales Coast Line in the Welsh county of Flintshire. Although trains still pass on the main line, the station closed in 1966.

Bagillt (; Welsh pronunciation: [ˈbaɡɪɬt]) is a market town and community in Flintshire, Wales. The town overlooks the Dee Estuary and is between the towns of Holywell and Flint. At the 2001 Census the population was recorded as 3,918, increasing to 4,165 at the 2011 census. The community also includes the villages of Walwen and Whelston.

Basingwerk Abbey (Welsh: Abaty Dinas Basing) is a Grade I listed ruined abbey near Holywell, Flintshire, Wales. The abbey, which was founded in the 12th century, belonged to the Order of Cistercians. It maintained significant lands in the English county of Derbyshire. The abbey was abandoned and its assets sold following the Dissolution of the Monasteries in 1536. The site is now managed by Cadw – the national Welsh heritage agency.

Holywell Junction railway station was a junction station located on the north-eastern edge of Holywell and Greenfield, in Flintshire, Wales, on the estuary of the River Dee.

Greenfield (Welsh: Maes-glas) is a village in the community of Holywell, Flintshire, north-east Wales, on the edge of the River Dee estuary. At the time of the 2001 census it had a population of 2,741, which remained unchanged in the 2011 census.The Welsh language name of the village, Maes-glas or Maesglas, has the same meaning as "Greenfield". The name Maesglas was recorded in 1579, with the English version recorded as "Fulbroke al[ias] Greneffelde" as early as 1540.

Holy Trinity Church, Greenfield, is in Basingwerk Avenue, Greenfield, Flintshire, Wales (grid reference SJ194776). It is an active Anglican church in the former parish of Holywell, the Estuary and Mountain Mission Area, the archdeaconry of St Asaph and the diocese of St Asaph. The church was designated as a Grade II listed building on 19 August 1991.The church was built in 1870–71 to a design by Ewan Christian. It consisted of a nave and a south aisle, and had lancet windows. Christian planned an apsidal chapel and a vestry at the southeast, but these were never built. The church was licensed for worship on 18 October 1871. In 1910–11 the Chester architect John Douglas added a chancel in a simpler design. The church was consecrated on 25 April 1911. The current Vicar of Holywell is the Rev'd Dominic Austin Cawdell OGS.

Delyn is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2019 by Rob Roberts, who was elected as a Conservative, but currently sits as an Independent following sexual harassment allegations.The Delyn Senedd constituency was created with the same boundaries in 1999 (as an Assembly constituency). The constituency is set to be abolished, as part of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies and under the June 2023 final recommendations of the Boundary Commission for Wales for the next United Kingdom general election. Its wards is to be split between Alyn and Deeside, and Clwyd East.

Delyn is a constituency of the Senedd. It elects one Member of the Senedd by the first past the post method of election. Also, however, it is one of nine constituencies in the North Wales electoral region, which elects four additional members, in addition to nine constituency members, to produce a degree of proportional representation for the region as a whole.

Greenfield Valley Heritage Park (Welsh: Dyffryn Maes Glas) is a 70-acre (28 ha) country park in the United Kingdom. It is located in Greenfield, near the town of Holywell in North Wales. It is well known for its woodland, reservoirs, ancient monuments (including the ruins of Basingwerk Abbey), rich industrial past and its factories which played a part in the Industrial Revolution.

The Holywell branch line was a railway branch line in North Wales that connected Holywell with the North Wales Coast Line at Holywell Junction. Holywell had quite a large amount of mineral resources and the branch line was built originally as a mineral railway. When the local industry declined, the line fell into disuse, but it was reopened as a tourist passenger line in 1912. Road competition made the railway non-viable and this then caused the line to be closed in 1954.

Holywell Town Football Club (Welsh: Clwb Pêl-droed Treffynnon) is a Welsh football club from Holywell, Flintshire. They are nicknamed 'The Wellmen', and play their home games at the Achieve More Training Stadium (commonly known as 'Halkyn Road'), Holywell. They currently play in the Cymru North, the second tier northern and central regional league in the Welsh football pyramid. Holywell Town were founding members of both the Cymru Alliance and the League of Wales (now known as the Cymru Premier) and enjoyed their best period in the top flight in the early to mid-1990s, finishing as high as fifth position in the 1993-94 League of Wales table. For the 2023–24 season, they will play in the Cymru North, the fourth consecutive season competing in the second tier after winning promotion from the now-defunct Welsh National League (Wrexham Area) Premier Division in the 2019–20 season. The 2014–15 season proved to be one of The Wellmen's best season in its history, winning the old Welsh Alliance League Division 1 title with three games to go at Llanrwst United by ending the league campaign with a goal difference of +100 and winning all but three of their league games. They also won their second FAW Trophy beating fellow Welsh Alliance team Penrhyndeudraeth 4–2 at Llandudno's Maesdu Stadium, and achieved a Mawddach Challenge Cup victory, beating Llanrug United 3–2 at the Nantporth Stadium in Bangor to complete an unprecedented treble. In the 2022–23 season, Holywell Town achieved their highest league placement in 24 years when they finished as the runners-up in the 2022-23 Cymru North table after experiencing a 25-game winning streak throughout the league campaign.
