0 Avenue (Zero Avenue) is a road in the Lower Mainland, British Columbia, running beside the Canada–United States border from Surrey to Abbotsford. The road runs parallel to the physical border between the two countries.The road begins near the Peace Arch Border Crossing, and continues eastward for 28.9 kilometres (18.0 mi), with gaps around the Pacific Highway and Lynden–Aldergrove Border Crossings. Boundary Road on the US side runs for 1.5 miles along 0 Avenue and again one mile to the west, with many cameras watching the border, before the U.S. road ends at the Lynden–Aldergrove Border Crossing. 0 Avenue continues west along the northern border of Peace Arch Historical State Park to Peace Arch Crossing. Small pedestrian bridges cross a trench on the border. At the eastern end of 0 Avenue, the road turns north.The road is used by smugglers, even though the border controls have tightened up since the September 11 attacks. The first known drug tunnel along the Canada–United States border was found east of the Lynden–Aldergrove crossing in 2005. Some asylum seekers have also tried to move to Canada from the U.S. via 0 Avenue.During the COVID-19 pandemic, restrictions on cross-border travel made 0 Avenue a meeting place for several cross-border couples. Once restrictions were lifted, some of these couples married at Peace Arch Park, a transnational park between Blaine and Surrey.

Aldergrove Community Secondary School is a public high school in Aldergrove, British Columbia, Canada, and is part of School District 35 Langley. It is the second oldest high school in the Langley School District, first opening its doors as Aldergrove High School in 1958.The school currently has three Youth Train in Trades programs specializing in Automotive Service Technician, Carpentry, and Hairstylist (Cosmetology) run through the Industry Training Authority. Students enrolled in the Youth Train in Trades programs earn dual credits for attending both high school and first-year university level courses.

Aldergrove is a community in the Township of Langley within British Columbia, Canada, approximately 59 km (37 mi) east of Vancouver. The community is urban in nature and, although not incorporated as a town, is often referred to as one. Aldergrove is located at the southeastern edge of both the Township of Langley and the Greater Vancouver metropolitan area, near the western edge of the Abbotsford metropolitan area. It is home to the Lynden–Aldergrove Border Crossing, one of the Lower Mainland's five land border crossings, connecting it with Lynden, Washington. This is a predominantly agricultural area, with crops including medical cannabis, grown by Canopy Growth Corporation, in the Agricultural Land Reserve (British Columbia) area. This grow operation is the largest federally licensed cannabis facility in the world, with 400,000 sq. ft. (3.7 ha) of growing space and may eventually reach 1.3 million sq. ft. (12 ha).

Lynden is a city in Whatcom County, Washington, United States. It is located 15 miles (24 km) north of Bellingham and approximately 5 miles (8.0 km) south of the Canada–US border. The city is located along the Nooksack River and State Route 539. The population of Lynden was 15,749 at the 2020 United States Census. Lynden is also home to the annual Northwest Washington Fair.

The Northwest Washington Fair is the only fair located in Whatcom County. Since 1909 it is held every August in Lynden, Washington. The fair brings more than 200,000 people to the area during fair week, Monday through Saturday. Monday is always a demolition derby with various performers the rest of the week at the fair's large grandstand. Brad Paisley has performed in years past along with Heart, Billy Currington, The Oak Ridge Boys, Terri Clark, Merle Haggard, Clay Walker, George Canyon, Ted Nugent, Journey, Collective Soul, Hunter Hayes and the Bill Gaither Vocal Band as well as many other performers. There is also a small stage featuring a variety of free entertainment, and a community stage featuring local performers. The fair features a large display of FFA and 4-H animals as well as open class animal exhibits. Because of the agricultural heritage of Lynden, the animals are a highlight of the fair with a 46,000 sq ft (4,300 m2) barn showcasing swine, sheep, llamas and alpacas, beef cattle, and the award-winning Small Animal Experience. There is also a large dairy cattle barn, a light horse barn, pony barn, draft horse barn, poultry and rabbit barns, and dog and cat tent. The fair features horse shows daily in front of the grandstand. Many animal contests and shows are scheduled each day in the respective barns. The fair also features a large carnival along with a smaller kids carnival. It has a large array of buildings and spaces for commercial vendors to set up their temporary shops. There are also departments in which to enter open class (non FFA or 4-H) homemade quilts, photographs, collections, canned goods, baked items, vegetables and flowers, and many other displays. The equine facility hosts a wide variety of events. In August 2010 the fair celebrated its 100th anniversary. During the off season the fair rents its facilities for many different events as well as RV storage. There were no fairs in 1917-18, 1942-45 & 2020.

Naval Radio Section Aldergrove, or NRS Aldergrove, is a Canadian Forces naval radio communications facility located in both Aldergrove and Matsqui, British Columbia. NRS Aldergrove is the Royal Canadian Navy's primary communications relay site for Maritime Forces Pacific. The Aldergrove receiving site is located 59 kilometres east of Vancouver, British Columbia in the community of Aldergrove whereas the Matsqui transmitter site is located 21 kilometres northeast of Aldergrove. The Aldergrove receiving site comprises 1,220 acres (4.9 km2) while Matsqui comprises 230 acres (0.93 km2). About 440 acres (1.8 km2) of the Aldergrove site are used for the antenna field, while the remainder is used as an electromagnetic interference (EMI) buffer zone from local development. Currently, Aldergrove and Matsqui are staffed with 1 operator and between 15 and 17 technicians. NRS Aldergrove held the traditional naval designation of HMCS Aldergrove from 1956 to 1967 and Canadian Forces Station Aldergrove (or CFS Aldergrove) from 1967 to 1996. Downsizing and automation in the mid-1990s led to the facility becoming a detachment of CFB Esquimalt, rather than an independent Canadian Forces station.

The Fraser Lowland is a landform and physiographic region in the Pacific Northwest of North America, shared between the Canadian province of British Columbia and the U.S. state of Washington. The region includes much of the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia, and the coastal plains of Washington's Whatcom County. As a physiographic region, the Fraser Lowland is part of the Georgia Depression, which in turn is part of the Coastal Trough.The eponymous Fraser River in the Lowland's north and the lower basins of its tributaries (mainly the Pitt River, Coquitlam River and Vedder/Chilliwack Rivers), as well as the entire catchment of the oppositely flowing Sumas River, are the Lowland's primary river system. However, the region also includes the lower Nooksack River basin ("Nooksack Lowland") south of the Canada–US border, which belongs to a completely separate river system arising from the southeast in the namesaked valleys around the North Cascades' Mount Shuksan, Baker and Twin Sisters. Overall, the Fraser Lowland encompasses all the fertile low-lying fluvial plains between and around the Fraser and Nooksack rivers, including the Sumas Prairie, the Burrard Peninsula, and sometimes also the North Shore lowlands around the Burrard Inlet. The American pene-exclave of Point Roberts lies to the region's west, at the southern end of the Tsawwassen peninsula.
