Huron Swamp

Indian Springs Metropark is a park in the Huron-Clinton system of metro parks in the US state of Michigan. The headwaters of the Huron River lie within its boundaries. The park encompasses 2,547 acres (10.31 km2) and is located 9 miles (14 km) northwest of Pontiac. Much of the park is dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of the natural environment. The park has an 18-hole regulation golf course, an Environmental Discovery Center, an underwater pond viewing room, a splash-n-play park, a life-sized maze, a nature center, an 8-mile paved hike-bike trail, 12 miles of cross country ski trails, and picnic areas.

Springfield Charter Township is a charter township of Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the township population was 13,940. The township was named for the numerous springs in the area.

The lake, with a maximum depth of 63 feet (19 m), lies within Independence Township in Oakland County, Michigan.Deer Lake is one of the first lakes the Clinton River flows through, and the first lake in Independence Township, after the river rises in Springfield Township. The Clinton River enters Deer Lake on the north end just after it passes under I-75. It exits on the south end where it enters into Middle Lake (23 acres (9.3 ha)), then into tiny Dollar Lake and then, as it crosses under Dixie Highway, into Greens Lake.Deer Lake connects on its northeast side to 5-acre (2.0 ha) Dark Lake.

Maceday Lake is an all-sports, 234-acre (95 ha) Oakland County, Michigan lake along the Clinton River.Maceday Lake connects upstream with the 185-acre (75 ha) Lotus Lake downstream and with the 155-acre (63 ha) Williams Lake.Blain Island lies between Maceday Lake and Lotus Lake. It is accessible by car via a bridge. There are mostly high-end luxury homes on the island.There is a public boat launch on Maceday Lake. Greens Lake is a private, all-sports, 117-acre (47 ha) lake along the main branch of the Clinton River. The lake lies within Independence Township in Oakland County, Michigan.The lake has a maximum depth of 55 feet (17 m).Greens Lake connects to Lester Lake and Van Norman Lake to the south and Dollar Lake, Middle Lake and Deer Lake to the north.

Lotus Lake is an all-sports, 185-acre (75 ha) Oakland County, Michigan lake along the Clinton River. Most of the lake lies within Waterford Township, however the northern portion of the lake is in Independence Township.Lotus Lake connects with the 234-acre (95 ha) Maceday Lake to the north, and connects upstream with 12-acre (4.9 ha) Lester Lake. Boaters can get from Lotus Lake to Lester Lake only by way of a narrow culvert under the railroad tracks. Blain Island lies between Lotus Lake and Maceday Lake. It is accessible by car via a bridge. There are three bridges on the island, affectionately named Lloyd, Beau and Jeff by the residents. There are mostly high-end luxury homes on the island.There is a public boat launch on Maceday Lake which allows boaters to easily access Lotus Lake.

Lester Lake is a lake in Oakland County, Michigan lake along the main branch of the Clinton River.Most of the lake lies within Waterford Township, however the northern portion of the lake is in Independence Township.Lester Lake connects upstream to the 117-acre Greens Lake. It also connects to 179-acre Lotus Lake and 234-acre Maceday Lake. Boaters can get from Lester Lake to Lotus Lake only by way of a narrow culvert under the railroad tracks. Downstream, Lester Lake connects to the 66-acre, 90-feet deep Van Norman Lake.

Middle Lake is a lake at an elevation of 968 feet (295 m). It is along the main branch of the Clinton River. The 35 feet (11 m) deep lake lies within Independence Township in Oakland County, Michigan.Middle Lake connects downstream to Dollar Lake to the south and upstream to Deer Lake to the north.
