Bold Park

The International School of Western Australia (ISWA) is a co-educational, non-denominational, independent international school in Doubleview, Western Australia. They offer education services to both local and international students from Kindergarten to Year 12. ISWA follows the Western Australian curriculum through the International Baccalaureate program. The school offers both the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program and the US College Board Advanced Placement program to their senior students. Notably, ISWA does not offer the Western Australian Certificate of Education program, and is the only school in Australia which offers the Advanced Placement to its students. ISWA offers an ICT Integration Program to its students, with a 1:1 notebook program from Grades 4–12 and access to devices from Grades K–3. There is a focus on STEM subjects in the curricular and co-curricular programmes. The academic calendar is largely based on the northern hemisphere calendar, with its school year starting mid to late July and ending in early June.

The Quarry Amphitheatre is an outdoor venue located close to the ocean in City Beach, Western Australia. It has a 19 by 13.5 m (62 by 44 ft) sprung wooden stage and changing facilities for around 80 performers. It was officially opened on 9 November 1986 and is owned and operated by the Town of Cambridge.The amphitheatre is located in an old limestone quarry, first quarried in 1834 by Henry Trigg. The limestone from the quarry was used for construction and lime-burning. In 1847 Trigg sold the landholdings to Walter Padbury, who continued the quarrying operations. At the height of the limestone kiln operations, more than 50 men worked at the site. The land was then sold to brothers Henry and Somers Birch in 1869, and then on to Joseph Perry in 1879. Perry kept the quarry and lime kilns working, with the last lime kiln being built in 1897. The quarrying ceased in 1906. In 1917 the land was sold to the Perth City Council. The concept of converting the quarry into an amphitheatre was conceived by Diana Waldron, the director of the Perth City Ballet Company, in the early 1980s. With funding support from the Commonwealth Government, Lotteries Commission and the former City of Perth, the vision finally became a reality and the Quarry Amphitheatre was officially opened on 9 November 1986. It is set in natural bushland and supports a capacity audience of 566. It is a licensed BYO facility. The venue is used extensively between October and May for a range of events from ballet to concerts and large weddings.

The Perry Lakes Reserve is a nature reserve located approximately 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) west of Perth, the capital city of Western Australia, in the suburb of Floreat. Within the 80-hectare (200-acre) reserve are two lakes, East Lake and West Lake, comprising approximately 12.6 hectares (31 acres).In its current form, the reserve dates from 1962 when the area was landscaped in association with the construction of Perry Lakes Stadium and associated sporting tracks and facilities for the 1962 British Empire and Commonwealth Games. The Australian Scout Jamboree has been held in the parkland twice, during the summers of 1979/80 and 1994/95. The sporting complex was demolished in 2011 to make way for housing development.

City Beach Senior High School was a public co-educational senior high day school, that was located in City Beach, a beachside suburb approximately 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) west of Perth, Western Australia. The school was operated by the WA Department of Education. The school's service area included City Beach, Floreat, Wembley Downs, and a corridor leading to Glendalough and Wembley. The 10-hectare (25-acre) campus was located 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) west of the city centre of Perth, and adjacent to the Bold Park Nature Reserve. The Bold Park Kindergarten was located on the campus property.

The Anglican Schools Commission (ASC) was established in 1985, following the passage of a resolution by the Perth Diocesan Synod of the Anglican Church of Australia. It was given the role of creating affordable Christian education in the Anglican tradition, and accessible to the disadvantaged and children with disabilities. Since its establishment, the group has founded or acquired nine schools, initially in Western Australia. Each school is known as an "Anglican Community School" or "Anglican School" which is included in their name. However the Commission does not control the member schools, but rather each school has its own constitution, and is governed by its own School Council drawn from Church, parent and community sources. Instead, the ASC lays down policies and procedures in a wide range of areas, most of which relate to educational and management issues. Since 1998, Anglican schools in New South Wales and Victoria have becomes members of the Commission association.

2016 World Masters Athletics Championships is the 22nd in a series of World Masters Athletics Outdoor Championships that took place in Perth, Australia from 26 October to 6 November 2016. Prior to this year, the championships in this biennial series were in odd-numbered years. Beginning in 2016, the championships were held in even-numbered years. The change was made to avoid conflict with the quadrennial World Masters Games, which had been held in odd-numbered years since 2005.The main venue was Western Australian Athletics Stadium, which had a nine-lane mondotrack laid in 2014. Supplemental venues included Ern Clark Athletic Centre, which also had a recently-upgraded eight-lane mondotrack. Road walks and cross country were held at Alderbury and Perry Lakes Reserves in Floreat. Half marathon and marathon followed the banks of the Swan River, with start and finish at the WA Water Sports Club.HBF Stadium served as the technical information centre. Welcoming ceremony was held at Elizabeth Quay.This championship was organized by World Masters Athletics (WMA) in coordination with a local organising committee.The WMA is the global governing body of the sport of athletics for athletes 35 years of age or older, setting rules for masters athletics competition. At the general assembly during this championship, a motion was passed to change two events after this edition of the series: The marathon would be replaced by a half marathon. The 10K road race would be replaced by the 10K race walk.In addition to a full range of track and field events, non-stadia events included 8K cross country, 10K race walk, 20K race walk, half marathon, and marathon.

The Japanese School in Perth (パース日本人学校, Pāsu Nihonjin Gakkō), abbreviated to JSP, is a Japanese international school located in City Beach within the Town of Cambridge of Perth, the capital city of Western Australia. The school opened in 1978. Historically the school was located on the property of a local Australian school, and the two schools had joint activities. Since 1998 the school uses the four term system used by Australian schools. The school was previously in Scarborough. In its history, up to 2012, the school had moved three times. After Education Minister Peter Collier announced that the school will relocate from its Kalinda Drive location in City Beach, it co-located with City Beach Primary School at Marapana Road in City Beach.

The Western Australian Athletics Stadium is a sports stadium in Perth, Western Australia. It is the main facility for the sport of athletics in Perth. It was constructed to replace the ageing Perry Lakes Stadium nearby, which had been in use since the 1962 British Empire and Commonwealth Games. The stadium houses the head offices of Athletics Western Australia and is a major facility for athletes with the Western Australian Institute of Sport. The stadium is also used for soccer, with Subiaco AFC playing home games at the stadium from 2014.

Perth Superdrome, known as HBF Stadium under a commercial naming rights arrangement, is a sports complex in Perth, Western Australia. It is home to the Western Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS). The venue is located in the suburb of Mount Claremont, approximately 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) west of Perth's central business district. The complex was opened in 1986. It received its current name through a naming-rights sponsorship deal with the HBF Health Fund in 2014. Although the previous sponsorship with Challenge Bank expired in 2002, the Challenge Stadium name remained in use until 2014.Facilities include an Olympic-standard aquatic centre with five pools, a diving tower, gymnasium, two arenas, and several basketball courts, as well as a café, childcare centre, sports store, office accommodation and a museum. The main indoor arena has seating for 4,500 spectators, or for over 5,000 people including standing room. Regular exhibitions and expos are hosted at the venue, as well as national and international sporting events.

Bold Park Reservoir (also known as Mount Kenneth Reservoir) is a roofed reservoir in Bold Park in the suburb of City Beach, in Perth, Western Australia. It is sited on the western edge of Bold Park, off Kalinda Drive. Water from either the groundwater schemes of Gwelup and Mirrabooka is fed to the reservoir, along with water from the hills dams. The reservoir is also topped up with water from a local artesian bore. In 2005 the reservoir had half of its roof torn off in a violent storm.

City Beach is a beachside suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the Town of Cambridge. Its postcode is 6015. It is also the name of a beach in the suburb. House prices are generally quite expensive. In 2020, City Beach had the fifth highest median house price in Perth, at $1.628 million.City Beach consists of three sections: a northern section (bordering Scarborough), a central section (bordering Wembley Downs and Floreat) and a southern section (bordering Bold Park). The centre part was built immediately prior to the 1962 British Empire and Commonwealth Games as an athletes' village due to its proximity to Perry Lakes Stadium in neighbouring Floreat.

The WA Basketball Centre (also known by its sponsored name, the Bendat Basketball Centre) is a multi-purpose stadium located in Perth, Western Australia. The stadium features eight courts, including two basketball show courts with 1,100 permanent seats and 900 retractable seats, and a six-court sports hall with multi-sport line markings. Facilities cater primarily for basketball, in addition to netball, volleyball and badminton. The stadium also holds a function room on the first floor for up to 270 people, with bar and kitchen facilities. The stadium houses the offices of Basketball Western Australia, Perry Lakes Basketball Association, and the Perth Wildcats. The facility is the main training base of the Wildcats, home court of the Perth Lynx, and hosts countless state, junior and social games throughout the year.
