Riverside (Welsh: Glan yr Afon) is an inner-city area and community of Cardiff, Wales, next to the River Taff. Riverside is also the name of the electoral ward, which includes the district of Pontcanna, to the north. The population of the community in 2011 was 13,771. Pontcanna was removed from the community in 2016.

Sophia Gardens Pavilion was a performance venue located in Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, Wales. It was built in 1951 for the Festival of Britain and was the boxing and wrestling venue for the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games.

Sophia Gardens (Welsh: Gerddi Sophia) is a large public park in Riverside, Cardiff, Wales, on the west bank of the River Taff. International test cricket matches and county cricket matches are held in the Sophia Gardens cricket ground, the home of Glamorgan County Cricket Club.The park is located close to Cardiff city centre and is adjacent to Bute Park and Pontcanna Fields, forming part of the city's 'green lung'. Sophia Gardens is linked to Bute Park by the Millennium footbridge over the River Taff (1999). In addition to the Glamorgan County Cricket Ground, Sophia Gardens contains the Sport Wales National Centre, Brewhouse & Kitchen public house, an exhibition area and a car and coach park, and the former warden's house.

The Sport Wales National Centre (Welsh: Canolfan Genedlaethol Chwaraeon Cymru) is a sports facility in Cardiff, Wales, set up to assist the development of elite athletes in Wales. The Centre, owned and operated by Sport Wales, was established by the then Sports Council for Wales in 1971 as the National Sports Centre for Wales. Renamed the Welsh Institute of Sport in 1994, it has been known as the Sport Wales National Centre since April 2010.The Centre is located in Sophia Gardens, Cardiff and opened on 30 October 1971, with the official opening by Her Royal Highness the Princess Anne on 12 June 1972. The main building housing the indoor sports halls is by F. D. Williamson & Associates and is described in The Buildings of Wales as "An impressive piece of minimalism".Several governing bodies of sports in Wales are based at the Centre. It hosts the Welsh International Badminton Championship every year in December. Welsh national teams that train at the Centre include badminton, netball, gymnastics, field hockey, shooting and judo.

Cardiff Canton TMD (Welsh: Depo Cynnal a Chadw Treganna Caerdydd) is a diesel locomotive traction maintenance depot in Cardiff, Wales. Its depot code is CF. It is operated by Transport for Wales. The depot is used by Transport for Wales fleet and some Cross Country Class 170s. In steam days the depot was called Cardiff Canton and its shed code was 86C. It was built in 1882 as the main maintenance base for the South Wales Railway and the major Welsh engineering base for the Great Western Railway (GWR). After nationalisation in 1948 it was a heavy overhaul base for British Railways. After privatisation in the mid-1990s the depot became a joint Arriva Trains Wales and English Welsh & Scottish facility. The EWS depot closed as a maintenance centre from 10 December 2005, but EWS' successor DB Cargo UK still uses the depot for long-term storage and occasional stabling.

Cathedral Road (Welsh: Heol y Gadeirlan) is one of the major roads of western Cardiff, Wales, passing through the suburb of Pontcanna. It forms part of the A4119 road from Cardiff Bay to Tonypandy and houses which are not lived in have been converted to professional businesses specialising in dentistry, psychotherapy, medicine and solicitors. It connects the centre of the Welsh capital to the north-west of the city. Cathedral Road was previously known as Pontcanna Lane, running between Plasturton Farm in the south and Pontcanna Farm to the north. Between 1885 and 1900 many large villas were constructed, occupied by the very wealthiest families of Cardiff.

St Mary of the Angels Roman Catholic Church (Welsh: Llanfair Yr Angylion) is located in Canton, Cardiff. It is part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cardiff. It opened on 3 November 1907.The Parish Priest is Rev. Canon Peter Collins.

Cardiff Bridge (also known locally as Canton Bridge) is the road bridge crossing the River Taff at the approximate site of the original river crossing, close to Cardiff Castle in the centre of Cardiff, Wales.

The Cardiff Wales Stadium, which is part of Sophia Gardens Cardiff ( suh-FY-uh; Welsh: Gerddi Soffia Caerdydd), is a cricket stadium in Cardiff, Wales. It is located in Sophia Gardens on the River Taff. It is home to Glamorgan County Cricket Club and is listed as an international Test cricket venue.

The West Lodge, also known as the West Gate Lodge, to Cardiff Castle is a Grade II* listed building, currently used as a tea room, in the centre of Cardiff, Wales. It is approximately 100 metres (330 ft) west of the Castle, with the Animal Wall running in-between. The lodge was designed by the architect Alexander Roos for John Crichton-Stuart, 3rd Marquess of Bute and built in 1860–63 to the west of Cardiff Castle as a decorative gatehouse to the Bute estate. It is located to the east of a pedestrian gateway and a much larger broad gateway with wooden gates, which are flanked to the west by a slim turret. All are built in grey stone in a Gothic style with crenellated parapets above.The West Lodge was given a Grade II* heritage listing in 1952, being an "integral part of the development of Cardiff Castle and Bute Park" and having a group value with the nearby Animal Wall.As part of a £5.6-million Bute Park restoration project, the West Lodge was converted into tea rooms and a gift shop in 2012. It opened to the public on 23 March with a special tile-laying ceremony. Victorian floor tiles had been laid in the tea rooms, which had been recovered from the nearby ruins of Blackfriars Friary in 1977. The West Lodge was renamed as Pettigrew Tea Rooms, after the 3rd Marquess of Bute's head gardener, Andrew Pettigrew.

Lisvane (CAC) Tennis Club, also known as the Cardiff Tennis Club, is a tennis club based in Lisvane, Cardiff, Wales. Lisvane Tennis Club amalgamated with the tennis section of Cardiff Athletic Club in 2003 to form the Lisvane (CAC) Tennis Club. It has its headquarters at Cardiff Arms Park.

Cardiff Greyhounds was the greyhound racing operation held at Cardiff Arms Park in Cardiff from 1927-1977. It is not to be confused with the greyhound racing held from 1928-1937 at the White City Stadium, Cardiff.
