Sophia Gardens (Welsh: Gerddi Sophia) is a large public park in Riverside, Cardiff, Wales, on the west bank of the River Taff. International test cricket matches and county cricket matches are held in the Sophia Gardens cricket ground, the home of Glamorgan County Cricket Club.The park is located close to Cardiff city centre and is adjacent to Bute Park and Pontcanna Fields, forming part of the city's 'green lung'. Sophia Gardens is linked to Bute Park by the Millennium footbridge over the River Taff (1999). In addition to the Glamorgan County Cricket Ground, Sophia Gardens contains the Sport Wales National Centre, Brewhouse & Kitchen public house, an exhibition area and a car and coach park, and the former warden's house.

The Cardiff Wales Stadium, which is part of Sophia Gardens Cardiff ( suh-FY-uh; Welsh: Gerddi Soffia Caerdydd), is a cricket stadium in Cardiff, Wales. It is located in Sophia Gardens on the River Taff. It is home to Glamorgan County Cricket Club and is listed as an international Test cricket venue.

Bute Park (Welsh: Parc Bute) or its full name Bute Park and Arboretum (Welsh: Barc a Gardd Goed Bute), is a major park in the city of Cardiff, capital of Wales. It comprises 130 acres (53 ha) of landscaped gardens and parkland that once formed the grounds of Cardiff Castle. The park is named after the 3rd Marquess of Bute, whose family owned the castle.

Cathedral Road (Welsh: Heol y Gadeirlan) is one of the major roads of western Cardiff, Wales, passing through the suburb of Pontcanna. It forms part of the A4119 road from Cardiff Bay to Tonypandy and houses which are not lived in have been converted to professional businesses specialising in dentistry, psychotherapy, medicine and solicitors. It connects the centre of the Welsh capital to the north-west of the city. Cathedral Road was previously known as Pontcanna Lane, running between Plasturton Farm in the south and Pontcanna Farm to the north. Between 1885 and 1900 many large villas were constructed, occupied by the very wealthiest families of Cardiff.

Sophia Gardens Pavilion was a performance venue located in Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, Wales. It was built in 1951 for the Festival of Britain and was the boxing and wrestling venue for the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games.

St David's Hospital (Welsh: Ysbyty Dewi Sant) is a health facility in Canton, Cardiff, Wales. It is managed by the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. The original main block is a Grade II listed building.

The Redwood Building is a Cardiff University building, in the Cathays Park area of Cardiff, Wales. The building was opened in 1961 by the Welsh College of Advanced Technology, which in 1968 became the University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology (UWIST). In 1988 UWIST merged into the University of Wales College Cardiff, which became Cardiff University in 1999. The building was designed by the Sir Percy Thomas & Son and is a rectangular three-story block in the modernist style. The main entrance is at the extreme left end of the west façade, above which is a large relief sculpture by Edward Bainbridge Copnall, showing an elderly toga-clad man with his foot on a globe, reaching out protectively over a scientist and a nurse.In 1979 the building was named after the Redwood family of Orchard House, Boverton, near Llantwit Major, namely the pharmacist Theophilus Redwood, his son Sir Boverton Redwood as well as Theophilus's medical brother Lewis Redwood and his son Thomas Redwood (after whom the former Redwood Hospital of Rhymney was named). Theophilus Redwood was a founding father of the Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain among connections with the Chemical Society and as founder president of the Society of Public Analysts, while his son Sir Boverton Redwood was a distinguished petroleum chemist – sometime president of the Society of Chemical Industry. [The 1979 naming by UWIST Council followed a suggestion by Dr J D R Thomas in a letter to UWIST Secretary and Registrar on 18 December 1978 that the building be named "Redwood Building" coupled with the names of Theophilus Redwood and of his son Sir Thomas Boverton Redwood Bart. to whom were later added the other family names of Lewis and Thomas Redwood (mentioned in the first two paragraphs of 'External links' - "Theophilus Redwood and the Redwood Building"). Dr J D R Thomas of UWIST Chemistry Department conducted most of his research in the Redwood Building - including that for his 1972 DSc degree, the first for a member of UWIST.]

St Mary of the Angels Roman Catholic Church (Welsh: Llanfair Yr Angylion) is located in Canton, Cardiff. It is part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cardiff. It opened on 3 November 1907.The Parish Priest is Rev. Canon Peter Collins.

Cardiff Bridge (also known locally as Canton Bridge) is the road bridge crossing the River Taff at the approximate site of the original river crossing, close to Cardiff Castle in the centre of Cardiff, Wales.

The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama (Welsh: Coleg Brenhinol Cerdd a Drama Cymru) is a conservatoire located in Cardiff, Wales. It includes three theatres: the Richard Burton Theatre, the Bute Theatre, and the Caird Studio. It also includes one concert hall, the Dora Stoutzker Hall. Its alumni include Anthony Hopkins, Aneurin Barnard and Rob Brydon.

Riverside (Welsh: Glan yr Afon) is an inner-city area and community of Cardiff, Wales, next to the River Taff. Riverside is also the name of the electoral ward, which includes the district of Pontcanna, to the north. The population of the community in 2011 was 13,771. Pontcanna was removed from the community in 2016.

Aberdare Hall (Welsh: Neuadd Aberdâr) is a Grade II-listed Gothic revival hall of residence at Cardiff University in Wales. It was built at the end of the nineteenth century.
