Viroflay

Viroflay-Rive-Droite station (French: Gare de Viroflay-Rive-Droite) is a railway station in the commune of Viroflay (department of Yvelines). It is in the Île-de-France region of France and is part of the Transilien rail network, on the Paris-Saint-Lazare – Versailles-Rive-Droite line. It is also an underground tram-on-tyres stop on line 6. The name "Rive-Droite" refers to the trains' Paris destination (Saint-Lazare) being on the right bank of the Seine. The Transilien & tramway platforms are connected by an IMEM Ascenseurs lift.

Porchefontaine is a neighborhood in the south-east of Versailles, in Yvelines department of France. It was a working class residential area. Since the 1970s, the working class has been replaced by white-collar workers. It features a tiny downtown, two schools, a sports complex, and a green space that is surrounded by the Versailles, Satory, and Meudon woods.

The Lycée Sainte-Geneviève is a private lycée, located in Versailles and providing preparatory classes for grandes écoles. It was founded by the Jesuits in Paris in April 1854. It is often nicknamed Ginette and sometimes BJ, standing for Boite à Jèzes (Box of Jesuits).

Chaville–Vélizy is a railway station of the RER C train line located on the border between Chaville and Vélizy.

St. Mark's Church, Versailles, or St. Mark's, Versailles, is an Anglican church dedicated to Saint Mark in Versailles, France. It is one of the churches of the Diocese of Europe within the Archdeaconry of France. St. Mark's is under the patronage of the Intercontinental Church Society.

The Institut des Sciences et Techniques des Yvelines or ISTY is a French public engineering school specialized in the field of computer science and mechatronics, attached to the Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines University.

The Domain of Montreuil (French: Domaine de Madame Élisabeth) is located in the center of Versailles and encompasses 7.2 hectares of land. Louis XVI bought it in 1783 for his sister Elisabeth of France, known as Madame Élisabeth.

Chaville (French pronunciation: [ʃavil] ) is a commune in the Hauts-de-Seine department and Île-de-France region of north-central France. It lies some 12 km from the centre of Paris in the south-western suburbs of the French capital.

Vélizy-Villacoublay (French pronunciation: [velizi vilakublɛ]) is a commune in the Yvelines department in the Île-de-France in north-central France. It is located in the south-western suburbs of Paris 13.9 km (8.6 mi) from the center and 3.2 km (2.0 mi) east of Versailles. Its inhabitants are called Véliziens.

University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (French: Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, UVSQ) is a French public university created in 1991, located in the department of Yvelines and, since 2002, in Hauts-de-Seine. It is a constituent university of the federal Paris-Saclay University. Consisting of eight separate campuses, it is mainly located in the cities of Versailles, Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, Mantes-en-Yvelines, Vélizy-Villacoublay and Rambouillet. It is one of the five universities of the Academy of Versailles.It is one of the four universités nouvelles (new universities) inaugurated in the Île-de-France region after the 2000 University project (French: plan université 2000). It has a population of 19,000 students, a staff of 752 people, and 1,389 teachers and researchers, as well as an additional 285 external teachers. The university teaches courses in the fields of natural science, social science, political science, engineering, technology, and medicine. It also provides interdisciplinary courses covering the relationships across economics, ethics, natural environment and sustainable development.

Haras de Jardy was a Thoroughbred horse breeding operation established in 1890 in Marnes-la-Coquette France by the statesman Edmond Blanc (1856-1920). The stud farm became home to many important stallions, including one of the leading sires in France and English Triple Crown Champion Flying Fox, as well as others such as Winkfield's Pride, Val d'Or, Ajax I, Teddy, Hermis and Coaltown. Haras de Jardy gained such a reputation that it was visited by horse owners and breeders from around the world, including King Edward VII in 1905, Queen Elizabeth II in 1957 and Nikita Khrushchev in 1961. After Edmond Blanc's death in 1920, his wife operated the business. In 1920-21, her horse Ksar scored back-to-back wins in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe; ten years later, he was the leading sire in France. The property was eventually sold to Marcel Boussac, who owned it until his death in 1980, after which it became the property of the government. Today, it is a public park with a golf course and home to the largest equestrian center in the country.
