Boyuk Zira Lighthouse (Azerbaijani: Böyük Zirə mayakı) is a lighthouse in the north of Boyuk Zira Island, in the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan.

Qum Island or Peschanniy (Russian: о́стров Песча́ный; 'Sandy Island'), Azeri: Qum adası) is an island in the Bay of Baku, in the Caspian Sea.

It has a population of 87,349. The municipality consists of the settlements of Qaraçuxur.There are 7 secondary schools, 1 gymnasium, 1 dental polyclinic, 1 medical unit and 1 hospital in the settlement.

Azerbaijan (Azerbaijani: Азәрбајҹан, romanized: Azərbaycan), officially the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic (Azerbaijan SSR; Azerbaijani: Азәрбајҹан Совет Сосиалист Республикасы, romanized: Azərbaycan Sovet Sosialist Respublikası; Russian: Азербайджанская Советская Социалистическая Республика [АзССР], romanized: Azerbaydzhanskaya Sovetskaya Sotsialisticheskaya Respublika [AzSSR]), also referred to as Soviet Azerbaijan, was one of the constituent republics of the Soviet Union between 1922 and 1991. Created on 28 April 1920 when the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic brought pro-Soviet figures to power in the region, the first two years of the Azerbaijani SSR were as an independent country until incorporation into the Transcausasian SFSR, along with the Armenian SSR and the Georgian SSR. In December 1922, the Transcaucasian SFSR became part of the newly established Soviet Union. The Constitution of Azerbaijan SSR was approved by the 9th Extraordinary All-Azerbaijani Congress of Soviets on 14 March 1937. On 5 February 1991, Azerbaijan SSR was renamed the Republic of Azerbaijan according to the Decision No.16-XII of Supreme Soviet of Azerbaijan approving the Decree of the President of Azerbaijan SSR dated 29 November 1990, remained in the USSR for the period before the declaration of independence in August 1991. The Constitution of the Azerbaijan SSR ceased to exist in 1995, upon the adoption of the new Constitution of Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan Football Academy (Azerbaijani: Azərbaycan Futbol Akademiyası) is the youth academy of Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan. It provides a stepping stone for youngsters to progress to the highest levels of football at Azerbaijan. The academy was officially opened on 23 February 2009 by UEFA vice president Şenes Erzik. The Academy is also visited by former Spain's captain Fernando Hierro.

Bakcell Arena, also known as the Eighth Kilometer District Stadium, is a soccer-specific stadium located in Nizami raion, Baku, Azerbaijan. It was opened in 2012 and has a capacity of 11,000 spectators. In 2013 it was renamed to Bakcell Arena.The stadium hosted some of the 2012 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup matches.

The Nizami Park (Azerbaijani: Nizami parkı) is one of the oldest parks in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. It is located in the Khatai district of the city on the territory of the Villa Petrolea, a residential settlement built by the Nobel brothers at the end of the 19th century for the employees of their company on the border of the Black City in the suburbs of Baku. The total area of the park is 13.6 hectares. This park, in an industrial landscape located on a vast territory, had a positive impact on the gardening architecture of Absheron. After 1920, the former garden of the Villa Petrolea was named after Lunacharsky, later - “Rote-Fane”, in the honour of the German newspaper with the same name, and later was named after Nizami Ganjavi.
