Vossius Gymnasium is a public gymnasium in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It was established in 1926 and is named after Gerardus Vossius. In 2014, it was ranked best VWO school in Amsterdam and fourth in the country by RTL Nieuws. It is also consistently ranked among the best in the country in terms of final exam results.

Het Nieuwe Huis (Eng: The New House) is an 'American style' apartment building with a gatehouse at the Roelof Hartplein, at the head of the Van Baerlestraat in Amsterdam Oud-Zuid within five minutes walking from the museums precinct. The building is, since 2004, on the country's monument list.The building was designed by architect Barend van den Nieuwen Amstel. In 2015, the Het Nieuwe Huis still offers affordable accommodation for single people. The current residents are aged 21 ato 99 and enjoy the central location as well as several communal areas such as the interior garden and on the 5th floor, a shared terrace with a view on the Amsterdam Business Center Zuid.

Restaurant De Trechter is a defunct restaurant in Amsterdam, in the Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in 1985 and retained that rating until 1995.Owner and head chef of De Trechter was Jan de Wit. De Wit closed down De Trechter and moved on to restaurant De Nederlanden, after a conflict about bins and binbags with the municipality of Amsterdam.About the conflict he said: "In Frankrijk legt de overheid een weg aan naar een sterrenzaak, bij mij zetten ze de vuilniszakken voor de deur." English: "In France, the government built a road to a star restaurant, to me they put the garbage outside the door." After closure of De Trechter the building was taken over by restaurant En Route, that was replaced in 2008 by Magnolia.

The Beatrixpark is a park in the Amsterdam-Zuid borough and is located in the "Prinses Irenebuurt" residential area. The park was named after the former Dutch Queen Beatrix. In 1972, part of the park, together with the Amstelpark, was the site of the Floriade garden and agricultural exhibition.

De Pijp metro station (Dutch: Station De Pijp) is a station on the Route 52 (North–South Line) of the Amsterdam Metro in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It was opened on 22 July 2018. The Eurovision Song Contest 1970 was the 15th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest and took place in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Nederlandse Omroep Stichting (NOS), the international songwriting competition was held at the RAI Congrescentrum on Saturday 21 March 1970, and was hosted by Dutch television presenter Willy Dobbe. Due to there being four winners in the previous contest, a question was raised as to which nation would host the 1970 contest. With Spain having hosted in 1969 and the United Kingdom in 1968, only France and the Netherlands were in consideration. A draw of ballots between these two countries resulted in the Netherlands being chosen as the host country.Twelve countries participated in the contest this year. This was the lowest number of participants since the 1959 edition. The reason was that Finland, Norway, Portugal, Sweden and Austria all boycotted the 1970 edition in protest of the four-way tie result that had occurred in 1969.The winner of the competition was Ireland with the song "All Kinds of Everything", performed by Dana, and written by Derry Lindsay and Jackie Smith. This was Ireland's first of seven victories in the Eurovision Song Contest. The United Kingdom finished in second place for the seventh time, while Germany ended up in third place – the best result for the country at the time. This was also the only time that Luxembourg received nul points.
