Herdsman Lake

Herdsman is the suburb of Perth, Western Australia where Herdsman Lake and the surrounding Herdsman Lake Regional Park are situated. Its local government area is the City of Stirling. In the earlier days of settlement, cattle were raised near the lake area. In 1928, the Herdsman Lake Suburban Area was gazetted adjacent to the lake, covering parts of what are now Churchlands and Woodlands as well as the modern suburb of Herdsman.In the 1980s swamp-land to the north of the lake was reclaimed by dredging to build Jon Sanders Drive and establish a light industrial park around Walters Drive. Prior to this, companies along Scarborough Beach Road backed on to the swamp. That area is now part of the light industrial suburb of Osborne Park, although some areas adjacent to Herdsman Lake Regional Park are still colloquially referred to as "Herdsman".

Glendalough railway station is a railway station on the Transperth network in Perth, Western Australia. It is located on the Joondalup line, five kilometres from Perth station serving the suburb of Glendalough.

Wembley is a western suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the Town of Cambridge. Its postcode is 6014. The main streets in Wembley are Cambridge Street, Harborne Street, Grantham Street and Selby Street. It is an upper middle class, medium-density suburb. Wembley is home to Bold Park Community School, Lake Monger Primary, Wembley Primary School and the Speech and Hearing Centre. Lake Monger is a large lake located on the outer edges of the suburb. The 2016 Census recorded a population of just over 11,000. Wembley was originally inhabited by the Mooro people of the Noongar Aboriginal clan for at least 40,000 years before European settlement. After the arrival of Europeans, Wembley was settled through land grants and purchasing of land by the Catholic Church. Intense subdivision of land and introduction of public transportation saw the area develop, and was named Wembley Park in 1924, shortened to Wembley in 1935.

Churchlands Senior High School is an independent public secondary school located in Churchlands, a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, approximately eight kilometres (five miles) northwest from the Perth central business district. It is the largest school in Western Australia, with 2,758 students as of 2021.

Model Timber Home is the name, for heritage-listing purposes, of a timber-framed house in Floreat, Western Australia. Designed by Reginald Summerhayes, the plans won a competition for the design of an ideal cheap modern timber-framed home. The house was subsequently built on donated land, using donated materials and labour in 1934.

Woodlands is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia. Its local government area is the City of Stirling and it is in the federal Division of Curtin. Many of the streets in Woodlands are named after trees, such as oak, elm, birch, sandalwood and willow.

Churchlands is a Legislative Assembly electorate in the state of Western Australia. Churchlands is named for the western suburb of Churchlands, which falls within its borders, and was created at the 1994 redistribution, replacing the seat of Floreat which had existed since 1968.It was held for most of its history by Liz Constable, the independent former member for Floreat who had won the predecessor seat in a 1991 by-election. However, the seat's demographics suggested it was a strongly Liberal seat on paper, and it was taken for granted Constable would be succeeded by a Liberal once she retired. Constable retired at the 2013 election, and was succeeded as expected by Liberal Sean L'Estrange. L'Estrange held the seat until his unexpected defeat by Christine Tonkin in 2021.

Westfield Innaloo is a major shopping centre in the northern suburbs of Perth. It is located at the corner of Scarborough Beach Road and Ellen Stirling Boulevard (formerly Oswald Street) in Innaloo, approximately 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) north-west of the Perth central business district. The shopping centre is approximately 1 kilometre (0.62 mi), or 3 minutes by bus, from Stirling Train Station, and is part of Stirling City Centre.In 2020 the shopping centre was intended to be rebranded to Westfield Stirling, but as of 13 March 2022 that has not happened. Honouring James Stirling, after whom the City of Stirling is named in which Westfield Innaloo is situated and which is itself facing calls to rename, is increasingly under pressure, because Stirling personally led the attack on a group of approximately seventy Bindjareb men, women and children on 28 October 1834 now known as the Pinjarra massacre. That massacre lasted at least an hour and resulted in the deaths of one soldier and an estimated 15–30 men, women and children.

Newman College is a pre-K–12 co-educational Catholic school which operates in the Marist tradition in Churchlands, Western Australia. It is currently a joint governed college with the governors being the Archbishop of Perth, Timothy Costelloe, and the Provincial of the Marist Brothers of the Southern Province of Australia, Brother Paul Gilchrist. The college is a foundation member of the Association of Marist Schools of Australia (AMSA).
