Cypress Bay High School is a public high school located in Weston, Florida open for students in grades 9−12. Cypress Bay is part of the Broward County Public Schools district. The school offers a wide variety of academic pursuits including 33 Advanced Placement (AP) courses, the Cambridge AICE Program, honors courses, a dual enrollment option and an array of academic and extracurricular activities that includes nearly 70 student clubs and organizations and more than 15 sports. Cypress Bay is also the pilot school for Broward County Public School's partnership with the FBI to provide a Cyber/STEM program, which is the second program of its kind in the nation.Cypress Bay has received an FCAT school grade of "A" for every year since its founding, with the only exception of 2009 when it received a "B". In 2016, U.S. News Best High Schools Rankings gave Cypress Bay a 1st place rank in Broward County, 21st in Florida and 243rd in the United States.

The 100,000-square-foot (9,300 m2), four-story learning facility featured "modern technology, media equipment, and industry-current learning labs". The campus was closed in 2015.

It is funded and administered by the City of Pembroke Pines, as opposed to the Broward County School Board.In 2005, PPCHS received an A grade from the State of Florida. The Broward Correctional Institution (BCI) was a correctional facility located in the former Country Estates CDP and in Southwest Ranches, Florida, operated by the Florida Department of Corrections. The Region IV Correctional Facility Office is located on the grounds of Broward Correctional Institution in the former Country Estates CDP. The prison was in proximity to Pembroke Pines. It was located along Sheridan Street, near U.S. Route 27.The facility was opened in 1977 to house a male inmate population. However, in its history the prison has had only female inmates. It housed female death row inmates until February 2003 when the female death row was moved to Lowell Annex. The Broward Correctional Institution served as a reception center for female inmates. As of 2011, a staff of approximately 272 individuals serviced the facility. As of 2012 624 prisoners, all female, were housed there. The facility was closed in 2012. Closure was scheduled for May 1 of that year. The Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel said "BCI was determined to have a relatively low population and a high per diem inmate cost of $111.48." ($145.02 when adjusted for inflation)

Ivanhoe Estates was a census-designated place (CDP) in Broward County, Florida, United States. It is located in the Miami metropolitan area. The population was 279 at the 2000 census. It's now a community incorporated into Southwest Ranches, Florida in 2000. Ivanhoe Estates is part of the larger Ivanhoe neighborhood that is split between Southwest Ranches and southwestern Davie, and includes the other Ivanhoe communities, in neighboring Davie, of Hawkes Bluff, Falcon's Lea, Waterford, Cross Bow, and Waverly Hundred, as well as the Les Chateux, Sheridan Glen, The Enclave, and Chelsea at Ivanhoe communities.

Florida's 23rd congressional district is an electoral district for the U.S. Congress, located in the Greater Miami area and covering parts of Broward County and southern Palm Beach County. In the 2020 redistricting cycle, it was drawn as a successor to the previous 22nd district and includes Boca Raton, Coral Springs, most of Deerfield Beach and Fort Lauderdale, and parts of Pompano Beach. The previous iteration of the 23rd district, which included Davie and Pembroke Pines, was instead renamed the 25th district. The district, along with two other districts in Greater Miami, has one of the highest concentrations of Jewish Americans, consisting of about 16% of the electorate.Florida's 23rd congressional district was created after the 1990 U.S. census. Democrat Alcee Hastings was elected in the first election for the district in 1992 until being redistricted to the 20th congressional district in 2013. From 2003 to 2013, the former 23rd district consisted of a major part of Broward County and parts of Palm Beach county. The district included Pompano Beach, Boynton Beach, and Belle Glade. From 2013 to 2023, the district included cities such as Weston, Davie, Pembroke Pines, and Aventura, as well as Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport and Nova Southeastern University. The district is currently represented by Democrat Jared Moskowitz.
