Ivanhoe Estates was a census-designated place (CDP) in Broward County, Florida, United States. It is located in the Miami metropolitan area. The population was 279 at the 2000 census. It's now a community incorporated into Southwest Ranches, Florida in 2000. Ivanhoe Estates is part of the larger Ivanhoe neighborhood that is split between Southwest Ranches and southwestern Davie, and includes the other Ivanhoe communities, in neighboring Davie, of Hawkes Bluff, Falcon's Lea, Waterford, Cross Bow, and Waverly Hundred, as well as the Les Chateux, Sheridan Glen, The Enclave, and Chelsea at Ivanhoe communities.

Rolling Oaks was a census-designated place (CDP) in Broward County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,291 at the 2000 census. It was incorporated into the town of Southwest Ranches, Florida in 2000, and is now a neighborhood.

Florida's 23rd congressional district is an electoral district for the U.S. Congress, located in the Greater Miami area and covering parts of Broward County and southern Palm Beach County. In the 2020 redistricting cycle, it was drawn as a successor to the previous 22nd district and includes Boca Raton, Coral Springs, most of Deerfield Beach and Fort Lauderdale, and parts of Pompano Beach. The previous iteration of the 23rd district, which included Davie and Pembroke Pines, was instead renamed the 25th district. The district, along with two other districts in Greater Miami, has one of the highest concentrations of Jewish Americans, consisting of about 16% of the electorate.Florida's 23rd congressional district was created after the 1990 U.S. census. Democrat Alcee Hastings was elected in the first election for the district in 1992 until being redistricted to the 20th congressional district in 2013. From 2003 to 2013, the former 23rd district consisted of a major part of Broward County and parts of Palm Beach county. The district included Pompano Beach, Boynton Beach, and Belle Glade. From 2013 to 2023, the district included cities such as Weston, Davie, Pembroke Pines, and Aventura, as well as Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport and Nova Southeastern University. The district is currently represented by Democrat Jared Moskowitz.

Southwest Ranches is a town in Broward County, Florida, United States. It is a suburban community part of the Miami metropolitan area and is located on the eastern edge of the Everglades, 15 miles (24 km) southwest of Fort Lauderdale and about 22 miles (35 km) northwest of Miami. It is unusual in that it consists of three non-contiguous areas, albeit they are in close proximity; the two largest being separated by 1,455 feet (0.443 km). It became the county's 30th incorporated place in 2000 to avoid annexation into Pembroke Pines and to preserve its semirural lifestyle. Because the area has many horse ranches and is located in the southwestern part of Broward County, residents chose "Southwest Ranches" over other potential town names. The population at the 2020 census was 7,607. The town includes the former census-designated places of Country Estates, Green Meadow, Ivanhoe Estates, Rolling Oaks, and Sunshine Ranches (as well as subneighborhoods Landmark Ranch Estates and Sterling Ranch Estates), all of which are now Southwest Ranches neighborhoods. To support its rural-equestrian lifestyle, the town has developed many equestrian trails.

The Weston Branch Library is a branch of the Broward County Library. It is the most western branch of the library in the county, and is part of the Miami metropolitan area. The Florida Everglades National Park borders the city to the North, and the library itself sits less than 2 miles from the Everglades.

Cypress Bay High School is a public high school located in Weston, Florida open for students in grades 9−12. Cypress Bay is part of the Broward County Public Schools district. The school offers a wide variety of academic pursuits including 33 Advanced Placement (AP) courses, the Cambridge AICE Program, honors courses, a dual enrollment option and an array of academic and extracurricular activities that includes nearly 70 student clubs and organizations and more than 15 sports. Cypress Bay is also the pilot school for Broward County Public School's partnership with the FBI to provide a Cyber/STEM program, which is the second program of its kind in the nation.Cypress Bay has received an FCAT school grade of "A" for every year since its founding, with the only exception of 2009 when it received a "B". In 2016, U.S. News Best High Schools Rankings gave Cypress Bay a 1st place rank in Broward County, 21st in Florida and 243rd in the United States.

Paladin Academy was an elementary, middle and high school located in Pembroke Pines, Florida. The program catered to students who required smaller class sizes, a more structured environment and if needed, a slower academic pace. This included individuals diagnosed with attention deficits, dyslexia or other undiagnosed challenges. Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the program was a participant in the State of Florida McKay Scholarship program for students with learning challenges. After over forty years of existence, the school ceased operations in June 2021.

American InterContinental University South Florida Campus was a location of American InterContinental University, a for-profit university, located at 2250 N. Commerce Parkway, Weston, Florida. The 100,000-square-foot (9,300 m2), four-story learning facility featured "modern technology, media equipment, and industry-current learning labs". The campus was closed in 2015.
