Huntington Tower

Cascade Plaza is an open space with plantings and pedestrian walkways in Akron, Ohio. It was developed in the late 1960s as part of an urban renewal project that also included construction of two high rises. As of 2013 plans were going forward for a major overhaul.

The PNC Building, officially One Cascade Plaza, is a 23-story high-rise structure in Downtown Akron, Ohio. The building is the second-tallest in Akron. It was owned by the National City Bank until 2008, when the Pittsburgh-based PNC Bank purchased the company. In 2016, after years of the bank only having street-level signage outside the structure, PNC opted to install skyline signage on all four sides of the structure.The building was completed in 1968. In 2018, much of the building's machinery was removed and replaced amid an $8.5 million renovation for energy efficiency upgrades.

The Akron City Center Hotel is an 18-story hotel building in downtown Akron, Ohio. The 306-room hotel structure is the fifth-tallest in the city. It was constructed beginning in June 1970 as part of Cascade Plaza, an urban renewal project, and opened in 1971 as the Cascade Holiday Inn.Two lower floors of the building are part of the five-level underground Cascade Parking Garage, which opened in 1968. The hotel cost $6.6 million, constructed by the Ruhlin Construction Co. for a Columbus-based developer. During its construction, the nearby Mayflower Hotel closed, in May 1971, knowing the older hotel could not compete with the new structure. In 1991, the building lost its Holiday Inn franchise and became the Cascade Plaza Hotel. In 1993, a partnership purchased the building, and in 1996 it opened as the Ramada Plaza Hotel, after a total renovation. In 1998, it became the Radisson Hotel Akron City Centre. After another decade, it became the Akron City Center Hotel. The hotel closed in the winter of 2016–2017, and its contents were liquidated. A developer proposed converting the building to become residential around 2018, but the COVID-19 pandemic affected the plans. The building currently sits vacant.The hotel building was designed by William Bond Jr. and Associates, a Memphis company that designed all Holiday Inns. The work was likened to a "baby United Nations building".

The Law Building (formerly known as the Second National Bank Building and the Key Building) is a high-rise office building located at 159 South Main Street in the city of Akron, Ohio. Construction of the building began in 1910 and was completed in 1911. The building stands at a height of 150 feet, making it one of the tallest buildings in the city. The elaborate brickwork and delicate ornamentation of its facade and rigid-frame structural system are prime examples of characteristics that define neoclassical architecture.

The CitiCenter Building is a historic high-rise building in Akron, Ohio. The eleven-story structure is the eleventh-tallest in the city, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.The building was constructed in 1931 as a Young Women's Christian Association branch. The building was purchased by a developer in 1985. It then held the CitiCenter Athletic Club, which closed in 2018. The building also held multiple city departments, until vacating around 2018.In 2018, a Cleveland-based developer purchased the building. The company then proposed it for redevelopment at a cost of $28 million, to create 95 apartments and three floors of office space. The building project won a $3 million state tax credit in 2020, allowing the project to begin.

The Akron-Summit County Public Library is a public library system in Akron, Ohio. Founded in 1874, it operates the Main Library on South High Street and South Main Street in downtown Akron, 18 branch libraries throughout the city of Akron and Summit County, the Akron Art Library (located on the Second Floor of Main Library, and at the Ellet Branch, the North Hill Branch, and the Odom Boulevard Branch), the Project LEARN of Summit County Training Room (located on the First Floor of Main Library), Mobile Services (located on the Lower Floor of Main Library), and Project LEARN of Summit County (also located on the Lower Floor of Main Library). As of 2013, they have a lion cub mascot, named Paws.

The John S. Knight Center is a large convocation center located in Akron, Ohio, named after the newspaper publisher and editor John S. Knight. Opening in June 1994, it is a 123,000-square-foot (11,400 m2) facility with 43,000 square feet (4,000 m2) of exhibit space, a 12,000-square-foot (1,100 m2) banquet hall, a conference center, and 18 meeting rooms.

The John F. Seiberling Federal Building and United States Courthouse is a building located in downtown Akron, Ohio. The building is named after John F. Seiberling, a United States representative from Ohio who helped create the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and served on the House Judiciary Committee that led the impeachment process against Richard Nixon. The building was constructed in 1974, and is an example of Brutalist architecture. It stands six stories tall. At the urging Congressman William Ayres, the cornerstone for the building was placed during the Nixon Administration, 1970. The main tenants of the building are the United States District and Bankruptcy Courts, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States Attorney, United States Probation and Pretrial Services, United States Marshals, Internal Revenue Service, Social Security Administration, Veterans Affairs, and the Department of Labor.

The Akron Art Museum is an art museum in Akron, Ohio, United States. The museum first opened on February 1, 1922, as the Akron Art Institute. It was located in two borrowed rooms in the basement of the public library. The Institute offered classes in arts appreciation which were organized by Edwin Coupland Shaw and his wife Jennifer Bond Shaw. Its first permanent home was the Akron Public Library, a Carnegie library building, from 1948 to 1981. It has grown considerably since 1922. The new museum was open to the public on July 17, 2007, and hosts visiting shows from national and international collections.

The Gothic Building is a historic building in Akron, Ohio. It was designed by prominent Akron architect Frank O. Weary and built in 1902. Weary also designed a Carnegie Library (Akron Public Library), county courthouses, and school buildings in Akron and other areas of Ohio, as well as significant buildings in other states. The Colonial Theatre was attached to the Gothic Building. The Gothic Building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.Tax credits for the redevelopment of historic buildings have been used to redevelop it and other historic buildings in downtown Akron by Tony Troppe. The Gothic Building was documented for the Historic American Buildings Survey. It is described as Tudor revival architecture.

Summit County Courthouse, (1905-1908) located at 209 South High Street, Akron, Ohio was designed in the Second Renaissance Style by Cleveland architect J. Milton Dyer. The seated figures of Justice and Law were created by Cleveland sculptor Herman Matzen. Two powerful lions guard the South High Street side of the building. Dyer, a well known Cleveland, Ohio architect also worked with Cleveland sculptor Matzen again on the Lake County Courthouse, located in Painesville, Ohio, 1909. The courthouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

The Main–Market Historic District is a historic district located in Akron, Ohio. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.
