China National Technical Import and Export Corporation (CNTIC; Chinese: 中国技术进出口集团有限公司) is a Chinese state-owned global trading company, engineering firm, and front company owned and operated by the Ministry of State Security (MSS), China's principal civilian foreign intelligence agency. The company's stated current primary business is in providing services to projects of the Belt and Road Initiative. Established in 1952; in 1998 the company became a subsidiary of China General Technology Group (Genertec), though it remains owned and directed by the MSS. Headquartered in the Fengtai District of Beijing, CNTIC reports nine domestic subsidiaries and 23 institutions in 20 countries and regions throughout Asia, Africa, and Europe. Throughout the history of the People's Republic, CNTIC has served as a key enabler of equipment and technology transfer to China, and an important service provider in the export of complete equipment, international project contracting and project management. With its business covering 105 countries and regions worldwide, CNTIC has completed more than 7,500 projects with a total value of over $120 billion. The company is active in the fields of electricity generation, transportation, communications, petrochemicals, metallurgy, building materials, electronics, mechanical engineering, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, forestry and education. As one of the world's largest factory and plant manufacturers, CNTIC offers expertise in project management. The company moved into a new corporate office complex located one block southeast of Tiananmen Square in 2021.

The Supreme People's Court of the People's Republic of China (SPC; Chinese: 最高人民法院) is the highest court of the People's Republic of China. It hears appeals of cases from the high people's courts and is the trial court for cases about matters of national importance. The court also has a quasi-legislative power to issue judicial interpretations and adjudication rules on court procedure.: 182 According to the Chinese constitution, the Supreme People's Court is accountable to the National People's Congress, which prevents the court from functioning separately and independently of the governmental structure.: 14  The court has about 400 judges and more than 600 administrative personnel.: 16 The court serves as the highest court for the People's Republic of China and also for cases investigated by the Office for Safeguarding National Security in Hong Kong. The special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau have separate judicial systems based on British common law traditions and Portuguese civil law traditions respectively, and are out of the jurisdiction of the Supreme People's Court.

The Underground City (Chinese: 地下城; pinyin: Dìxià Chéng) is a Cold War era bomb shelter consisting of a network of tunnels located beneath Beijing, China. It has also been referred to as the Underground Great Wall since it was built for the purpose of military defense. The complex was constructed from 1969 to 1979 in anticipation of a nuclear war with the Soviet Union, as Sino-Soviet relations worsened and was officially reopened in 2000. Visitors were allowed to tour portions of the complex, which has been described as "dark, damp, and genuinely eerie". Underground City has been closed for renovation since at least February 2008.

The Battle of Gaoliang River (Chinese: 高梁河之戰) was fought in 979 between the Liao dynasty and Northern Song dynasty in present-day Beijing. The Liao victory ended a Song campaign to recapture the Sixteen Prefectures in North China. After founding the Song dynasty in 960, the Emperor Taizu of Song sought to capture the Sixteen Prefectures, which the Liao dynasty acquired in 936 from the Later Jin dynasty. His successor, the Emperor Taizong of Song, personally led a military expedition that reached Youzhou in 979, and laid siege to the city. The city's walls, some 16 km in circumference withstood the siege for three months. Defenders were bolstered by Liao reinforcements who were able burrow under the Song siege and into the city itself. A large Liao reinforcement arrived and defeated the Song Army north of Youzhou, just west of Xizhimen, in present-day Beijing.More than 160 years after this defeat, the Song briefly took control of modern-day Beijing in 1123 when the Song–Jin alliance defeated the Liao and the city was ceded by the Jin dynasty to the Song. However, two years later, the Jin invaded the Song and retook Yanshan.

The Embassy of Turkey in Beijing (Chinese: 土耳其駐華大使館; Turkish: Türkiye'nin Pekin Büyükelçiliği) is the diplomatic mission of Turkey to China. It is located in the 9 East 5th Street, Sanlitun in the Chaoyang District. It has business, economic, security, customs, cultural, tourism, counselors and military attaché offices.

Qianmen Subdistrict (Chinese: 前门街道; pinyin: qiánmén jiēdào) is a subdistrict in the western portion of Dongcheng District, Beijing, China. In 2020, there are 9,081 permanent residents in this subdistrict.The subdistrict was named after the Zhengyangmen, a gate which used to be part of the Beijing city wall, and is colloquially known as "Qianmen" (Chinese: 前门; lit. 'Front Gate') to the locals.

The siege of the International Legations occurred in 1900 in Peking, the capital of the Qing Empire, during the Boxer Rebellion. Menaced by the Boxers—an anti-Christian, anti-foreign peasant movement—900 soldiers, sailors, marines, and civilians, largely from Europe, Japan, and the United States, and about 2,800 Chinese Christians took refuge in the Peking Legation Quarter. The Qing government took the side of the Boxers after the Eight-Nation Alliance invaded Tianjin at the Battle of the Taku Forts (1900), without a formal declaration of war. The foreigners and Chinese Christians in the Legation Quarter survived a 55-day siege by the Qing Army and Boxers. The siege was broken by an international military force, which marched from the coast of China, defeated the Qing Army, and occupied Peking (now known as Beijing). The siege was called by the New York Sun "the most exciting episode ever known to civilization."

The Peking Legation Quarter was the area in Peking (Beijing), China where a number of foreign legations were located between 1861 and 1959. In the Chinese language, the area is known as Dong Jiaomin Xiang (simplified Chinese: 东交民巷; traditional Chinese: 東交民巷; pinyin: Dōng Jiāomín Xiàng), which is the name of the hutong (lane or small street) through the area. It is located in the Dongcheng District, immediately to the east of Tiananmen Square. The Legation Quarter was the location of the 55-day siege of the International Legations, which took place during the Boxer Rebellion of 1900. After the Boxer Rebellion, the Legation Quarter was under the jurisdiction of foreign countries with diplomatic legations (later most commonly called "embassies") in the quarter. The foreign residents were exempt from Chinese law. The Legation Quarter attracted many diplomats, soldiers, scholars, artists, tourists, and Sinophiles. World War II effectively ended the special status of the Legation Quarter, and with the Great Leap Forward and other events in communist China most of the European-style buildings of the Legation Quarter were destroyed.

Beijing Tongren Hospital (北京同仁医院) is a famous [1] institution which specializes in ophthalmology and otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat medicine). Its records state that it was established in 1886 by an American Methodist church. The hospital has had to take steps, including registering its name as a trademark, in order to protect its reputation against people fraudulently using the "Tongren" title.

The Beijing Hotel (simplified Chinese: 北京饭店; traditional Chinese: 北京飯店; pinyin: Běijīng Fàndiàn) is a five-star state-owned hotel complex in the Dongcheng District of Beijing, China. It is located at the southern end of Wangfujing Street, at the corner with East Chang'an Avenue, 1.5 km from Beijing railway station with views of the Forbidden City and part of Tiananmen Square.

Grand Hyatt Beijing (S: 北京东方君悦大酒店, T: 北京東方君悅大酒店, P: Běijīng Dōngfāng Jūnyuè Dàjiǔdiàn) is an 825-room luxury hotel Beijing, China that opened in 2001. It is located at the crossroads of Chang'an Avenue and Wangfujing, and is part of the Oriental Plaza – China’s largest commercial complex. There are a total of seven food and beverage outlets, including the 'Made in China', 'Noble Court', 'Grand Cafe', 'Da Giorgio' and 'Redmoon'. 'Made in China' and 'Red Moon' both feature sound systems by prestigious British sound designer 'Mel "Herbie" Kent'. The indoor swimming pool, which is designed as resort-style, with a virtual sky is one of the indoor swimming pools in the city. It is part of the 'Club Oasis' situated at level P3 in the hotel. There is also a 24-hour fitness centre on the same floor. It is operated by the Hyatt Hotels Corporation, based in Chicago, the United States.

The Beijing Mall (Chinese: 新燕莎金街购物广场; lit. 'New Yansha Golden Street shopping mall') is a shopping mall at Wangfujing in Beijing, China, using the Phase II building of Beijing Hotel at 301 Wangfujing Street. It is developed by the New Yansha Group, a subsidiary of Beijing Tourism Group, and opened in July 2004.The mall was closed in 2020 due to deficit.
