Qianmen Subdistrict (Chinese: 前门街道; pinyin: qiánmén jiēdào) is a subdistrict in the western portion of Dongcheng District, Beijing, China. In 2020, there are 9,081 permanent residents in this subdistrict.The subdistrict was named after the Zhengyangmen, a gate which used to be part of the Beijing city wall, and is colloquially known as "Qianmen" (Chinese: 前门; lit. 'Front Gate') to the locals.

China National Technical Import and Export Corporation (CNTIC; Chinese: 中国技术进出口集团有限公司) is a Chinese state-owned global trading company, engineering firm, and front company owned and operated by the Ministry of State Security (MSS), China's principal civilian foreign intelligence agency. The company's stated current primary business is in providing services to projects of the Belt and Road Initiative. Established in 1952; in 1998 the company became a subsidiary of China General Technology Group (Genertec), though it remains owned and directed by the MSS. Headquartered in the Fengtai District of Beijing, CNTIC reports nine domestic subsidiaries and 23 institutions in 20 countries and regions throughout Asia, Africa, and Europe. Throughout the history of the People's Republic, CNTIC has served as a key enabler of equipment and technology transfer to China, and an important service provider in the export of complete equipment, international project contracting and project management. The company is active in the fields of electricity generation, transportation, communications, petrochemicals, metallurgy, building materials, electronics, mechanical engineering, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, forestry and education. As one of the world's largest factory and plant manufacturers, CNTIC offers expertise in project management. The company moved into a new corporate office complex located one block southeast of Tiananmen Square in 2021.

The Embassy of Turkey in Beijing (Chinese: 土耳其駐華大使館; Turkish: Türkiye'nin Pekin Büyükelçiliği) is the diplomatic mission of Turkey to China. It is located in the 9 East 5th Street, Sanlitun in the Chaoyang District. It has business, economic, security, customs, cultural, tourism, counselors and military attaché offices.

The Battle of Gaoliang River (Chinese: 高梁河之戰) was fought in 979 between the Liao dynasty and Northern Song dynasty in present-day Beijing. The Liao victory ended a Song campaign to recapture the Sixteen Prefectures in North China. After founding the Song dynasty in 960, the Emperor Taizu of Song sought to capture the Sixteen Prefectures, which the Liao dynasty acquired in 936 from the Later Jin dynasty. His successor, the Emperor Taizong of Song, personally led a military expedition that reached Youzhou in 979, and laid siege to the city. The city's walls, some 16 km in circumference withstood the siege for three months. Defenders were bolstered by Liao reinforcements who were able burrow under the Song siege and into the city itself. A large Liao reinforcement arrived and defeated the Song Army north of Youzhou, just west of Xizhimen, in present-day Beijing.More than 160 years after this defeat, the Song briefly took control of modern-day Beijing in 1123 when the Song–Jin alliance defeated the Liao and the city was ceded by the Jin dynasty to the Song. However, two years later, the Jin invaded the Song and retook Yanshan.

St. Michael's Church (French: Église Saint-Michel; traditional Chinese: 聖彌厄爾教堂; simplified Chinese: 圣弥厄尔教堂), also called Dongjiaoming Street Church (东交民巷天主堂), is a church that was formerly in the French Legation of Beijing. It was built in 1901.

The Underground City (Chinese: 地下城; pinyin: Dìxià Chéng) is a Cold War era bomb shelter consisting of a network of tunnels located beneath Beijing, China. It has also been referred to as the Underground Great Wall since it was built for the purpose of military defense. The complex was constructed from 1969 to 1979 in anticipation of a nuclear war with the Soviet Union, as Sino-Soviet relations worsened and was officially reopened in 2000. Visitors were allowed to tour portions of the complex, which has been described as "dark, damp, and genuinely eerie". Underground City has been closed for renovation since at least February 2008.

Dongdan (Chinese: 东单; pinyin: Dōngdān), literally "Eastern Single" or "Eastern Single Sign Gate" is the name of a crossing on Beijing's Chang'an Avenue and surrounding neighborhood. The name is derived from the single paifang or Chinese sign gate that once marked the intersection. In the checkerboard layout of Beijing, the Dongdan intersection in Dongcheng District to the east of the city centre, is balanced by Xidan or the "Western Single" in Xicheng District to the west of city centre. Dongdan and Xidan were traditionally market centers. In the Dongdan region one finds the Oriental Plaza, and Dongdan North Street, termed "silver street" for being next to (and slightly inferior to) Wangfujing Street. Like Wangfujing, Dongdan is also home to many shops.

The Supreme People's Court of the People's Republic of China (SPC; Chinese: 最高人民法院) is the highest court of the People's Republic of China. It hears appeals of cases from the high people's courts and is the trial court for cases about matters of national importance. The court also has a quasi-legislative power to issue judicial interpretations and adjudication rules on court procedure.: 182 According to the Chinese constitution, the Supreme People's Court is accountable to the National People's Congress, which prevents the court from functioning separately and independently of the governmental structure.: 14  The court has about 400 judges and more than 600 administrative personnel.: 16 The court serves as the highest court for the People's Republic of China and also for cases investigated by the Office for Safeguarding National Security in Hong Kong. The special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau have separate judicial systems based on British common law traditions and Portuguese civil law traditions respectively, and are out of the jurisdiction of the Supreme People's Court.

Chongwenmen Station (simplified Chinese: 崇文门站; traditional Chinese: 崇文門站; pinyin: Chóngwénmén Zhàn) is an interchange station on Line 2 and Line 5 of the Beijing Subway at Chongwenmen in Dongcheng District.

Wangfujing Station (Chinese: 王府井站; pinyin: Wángfǔjǐng Zhàn) is a station on Line 1 and Line 8 of the Beijing Subway. The main exit is at the south end of Wangfujing shopping street.

Grand Hyatt Beijing (S: 北京东方君悦大酒店, T: 北京東方君悅大酒店, P: Běijīng Dōngfāng Jūnyuè Dàjiǔdiàn) is an 825-room luxury hotel Beijing, China that opened in 2001. It is located at the crossroads of Chang'an Avenue and Wangfujing, and is part of the Oriental Plaza – China’s largest commercial complex. There are a total of seven food and beverage outlets, including the 'Made in China', 'Noble Court', 'Grand Cafe', 'Da Giorgio' and 'Redmoon'. 'Made in China' and 'Red Moon' both feature sound systems by prestigious British sound designer 'Mel "Herbie" Kent'. The indoor swimming pool, which is designed as resort-style, with a virtual sky is one of the indoor swimming pools in the city. It is part of the 'Club Oasis' situated at level P3 in the hotel. There is also a 24-hour fitness centre on the same floor. It is operated by the Hyatt Hotels Corporation, based in Chicago, the United States.

Chongwenmen (Chinese: 崇文門; pinyin: Chóngwénmén; Manchu: ᡧᡠᠪᡝᠸᡝᠰᡳᡥᡠᠯᡝᡵᡝᡩᡠᡴᠠ; Möllendorff: šu be wesihulere duka) was a gate that was part of Beijing's city wall in what is now Dongcheng District. The gate stood in the southeastern part of Beijing's inner city, immediately south of the old Beijing Legation Quarter. In the 1960s, the gate and much of the wall was torn down to make room for Beijing's second ring road. Today, Chongwenmen is marked by the intersection of Chongwenmen Nei (Inner) and Chongwenmen Wai (Outer) Street, which run north-south through the former gate, Chongwenmen East and Chongwenmen West Street, which run east-west where the wall stood, and Beijing Station West Street, a diagonal street, going northwest to the Beijing railway station. Chongwenmen is a transport node in Beijing. Chongwenmen Station is an interchange station on Lines 2 and 5 of the Beijing Subway. Chongwen District, an administrative division of the city from 1952 to 2010 and now folded into Dongcheng District, was named after Chongwenmen.
