S. G. Atkins House is a historic home located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. The house was built about 1893, and is a two-story, three-bay, frame dwelling with rear additions. The front facade has a central gable and a hip-roofed porch. It was built by Dr. Simon Green Atkins, the founder of the Slater Industrial Academy for African-American students. The house was converted to apartments in 1951.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

J. S. Hill House was a historic home located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. The house was built about 1893, and was a large two-story, three-bay, frame dwelling. The front facade had a projecting two-story bay with prominent gable. It was built by J. S. Hill, the chief fund raiser for the Slater Industrial Academy for African-American students. The house has been demolished. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

J. W. Paisley House was a historic home located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. The house was built about 1910–1911, and was a large two-story, three-bay, frame dwelling. The house featured clipped gable roofs and dormers. It was built by John W. Paisley, faculty member of the Slater Industrial Academy for African-American students. The house has been demolished. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Goler Metropolitan AME Zion Church, originally known as East Fourth Street Baptist Church, is a historic African Methodist Episcopal Zion church located at 1435 E. Fourth Street in Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. It was built in 1924, and is a front-gabled brick church with two prominent domed towers and flanking one-story hipped-roof wings in the Classical Revival style. The front facade features a prominent pedimented porch supported by stuccoed Doric order columns and Ionic order pilasters. The interior is based on the Akron Plan. The building was acquired by an African-American congregation split from the Goler Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in 1942. The congregation changed their name to Goler Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church in 1953.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

Mars Hill Baptist Church, also known as Fries Memorial Moravian Church, is a historic African-American Baptist church located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. It was built in 1915, and is a T-shaped brick building with corner tower in the Gothic Revival style. Also on the property is the parsonage; a one-story, pebble-dash finished Queen Anne style dwelling. It has a high hipped roof, a central hipped dormer, and a hipped-roof full-front porch supported by fluted columns. It was originally built for a white Moravian congregation, until the Mars Hill Baptist Church congregation purchased the building in 1944 for $4,000.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

The C.E. Gaines Center is a basketball arena on the campus of Winston-Salem State University. It is named for former WSSU men's basketball coach Clarence "Bighouse" Gaines, who led the men's basketball team for 47 years. The facility has a capacity of 3,200 spectators and opened in 1978.

WSNC (90.5 FM) is a radio station broadcasting jazz, gospel, and talk programming. Licensed to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, United States, it serves the Piedmont Triad area. The station is currently owned by Winston-Salem State University. The founding General Manager of WSNC FM was Dr. Clarence W. Thomas. In November 2017, WSNC replaced a transmitter installed in the 1990s which failed in June, causing the station to operate at a tenth of normal power using rented equipment for several months.

The Salem Cemetery is located at 301 Cemetery St. in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. It is adjacent to the older God's Acre Cemetery of the Moravian Church.

Margaret Nowell Graham (1867–1942) was an American artist who painted watercolors of flowers and landscapes. She was the mother of two national political figures Katherine G. Howard, Secretary of the Republican Party and advisor to President Dwight D. Eisenhower, and John Stephens Graham, Assistant Secretary of the Treasury.

Bowman Gray Stadium is a NASCAR sanctioned quarter-mile asphalt flat oval short track and longstanding football stadium located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. It is one of stock car racing's most legendary venues, and is referred to as "NASCAR's longest-running weekly race track". Bowman Gray Stadium is part of the Winston-Salem Sports and Entertainment Complex and is home of the Winston-Salem State University Rams football team. It was also the home of the Wake Forest University football team from 1956 until Groves Stadium (now Truist Field at Wake Forest) opened in 1968. Bowman Gray Stadium was a popular venue for high school football in the 1970s and 1980s. Parkland and R.J. Reynolds High Schools shared Bowman Gray Stadium as their home field for high school football until the two schools built their own facility (Deaton-Thompson Stadium) in 1994.

Gilmer Building is a historic commercial building located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. It was built between 1924 and 1926, and is a two-story, rectangular brick building. It measures 80 feet by 86 feet, and features polychromed terra cotta panels and ornamentation.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
