The King's Manor is a Grade I listed building in York, England, and is part of the University of York. It lies on Exhibition Square, in the city centre.

The Archaeology Data Service (ADS) is an open access digital archive for archaeological research outputs. It is located in The King's Manor, at the University of York. Originally intended to curate digital outputs from archaeological researchers based in the UK's Higher Education sector, the ADS also holds archive material created under the auspices of national and local government as well as in the commercial archaeology sector. The ADS carries out research, most of which focuses on resource discovery, cross-searching and interoperability with other relevant archives in the UK, Europe and the United States of America. The Archaeology Data Service is listed in the Registry of Research Data Repositories re3data.org.

York Art Gallery is a public art gallery in York, England, with a collection of paintings from 14th-century to contemporary, prints, watercolours, drawings, and ceramics. It closed for major redevelopment in 2013, reopening in summer of 2015. The building is a Grade II listed building and is managed by York Museums Trust.

York Library (York Explore Library and Archive) is situated in Museum Street, York, England. It became a Grade II listed building in 1997.York's first subscription library opened in 1794, but it was only in 1893 that the city's first public library was opened in Clifford Street by the then Duke and Duchess of York, in a building formerly occupied by the Institute of Popular Science and Literature. This was the period when free public libraries were supplanting subscription libraries, and the establishment of York's public library was the city's way of marking Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. In 1917 the public library was merged with York Subscription Library. The present library building on Museum Street was designed by Walter Brierley and opened in 1927. Since then, there have been a number of extensions to the building, most recently in 2014, when the library became home to the City Archives.

The Yorkshire Museum is a museum in York, England. It was opened in 1830, and has five permanent collections, covering biology, geology, archaeology, numismatics and astronomy.

York Theatre Royal is a theatre in St Leonard's Place, in York, England, which dates back to 1744. The theatre currently seats 750 people. Whilst the theatre is traditionally a proscenium theatre, it was reconfigured for a season in 2011 to offer productions in-the-round. The theatre puts on many of its own productions, as well as hosting touring companies, one of which is Pilot Theatre, a national touring company which often co-produces its work with the theatre. Additionally the main stage and studio are regularly used by local amateur dramatic and operatic societies. York Theatre Royal was one of the co-producers of the historic York Mystery Plays 2012 which were staged in York Museum Gardens between 2–27 August. The theatre reopened on Friday 22 April 2016 following a £6million redevelopment, with a new roof, an extended and re-modelled front of house area, a refurbished and redecorated main auditorium and with major improvements to access and environmental impact.

The De Grey Rooms is a building in the city of York, England. It was built in 1841-1842 and is a grade II* listed building.

The Oratory Church of Saint Wilfrid, York (or York Oratory for short) is a Catholic church in York, England. A church dedicated to Saint Wilfrid has stood in York since medieval times. The church is known as the "Mother Church of the city of York". It is in Gothic Revival style. The arch over the main door has the most detailed Victorian carving in the city. The present church was completed in 1864 and is considered to be one of the most perfectly finished Catholic churches in England, rich in sculptures, paintings and stained glass. In 2013, the church was entrusted to the Oratorian Fathers.It is within the Diocese of Middlesbrough and was the second pro-Cathedral of the Diocese of Beverley until its dissolution in 1878.

Wandesford House is an eighteenth-century almshouse in the centre of York, England, one of twelve still-functioning almshouses in the city, and the oldest still in its original building. Built in 1739 and opened in 1743, the house is an important example of the classical style in the city. Like many historic almshouses, it was referred to as a hospital before that term became chiefly associated with medical establishments. The almshouse lies a few yards outside the city walls on the north-west side of Bootham behind its front garden and between houses of later date. Inside are twelve flats intended for single Christian women, who are in hardship, need or distress, and over 50 years of age. Wandesford House is listed by Historic England as a Grade II* listed building and is owned and run by Mary Wandesford's Charity (the Wandesford Trust; charity reg. 251379). The archives of the Charity are held at the Borthwick Institute for Archives, University of York.

Museum Street is a road in the city centre of York, in England.

The Museum Street Tavern, formerly Thomas's of York, is a historic pub in the city centre of York, in England. The building which houses the pub was first constructed in about 1700. In about 1800, it became part of Ettridge's Royal Hotel, and at some point in the 1820s, it was heightened from two to three storeys. In 1858, it was bought by William Thomas, an experienced hotellier, who renamed the hotel after himself. The remainder of the old hotel was demolished, and the Museum Street facade of the remaining building was altered, with work completed in 1863. Thomas sold the pub in 1876, to Thomas Lightfoot, a brewer from Bedale, but its name was retained. In 1900, it was purchased by John Smith's Brewery. At the time, it had eight bedrooms, a bar, two drawing rooms, a coffee room and a billiard room. The building is constructed of dark brown brick. The staircase and some first-floor doors are original, while the fireplaces and some plaster work date from the 1863 alterations. There is late-19th-century stained glass around the wide door, with a colourful design in the tympanum above, incorporating the name "Thomas's Hotel". The pub was Grade II listed in 1978. By 2022, it was owned by the Stonegate Pub Company, which closed it for conversion into a Be At One cocktail bar. In 2023 it reopened as the Museum Street Tavern.
