Linum (village)

The Hakenberg Victory Column is a 36-metre tall monument with an observation deck at Hakenberg near Fehrbellin in Brandenburg, Germany. It was designed by Christian Daniel Rauch and built between 1875 and 1879. It commemorates the victory of Frederick William, Elector of Brandenburg, over the troops of occupying Sweden in the Battle of Fehrbellin (1675).

Börnicke is a component locality (Ortsteil) of the town of Nauen in the Landkreis Havelland district of Brandenburg, Germany.

Nauen Transmitter Station (German: Grossfunkstelle Nauen or Sender Nauen) in Nauen, Havelland district, Brandenburg, Germany, is the oldest continuously operating radio transmitting installation in the world. Germany's first high power radio transmitter, it was founded on 1 April 1906 by Telefunken corporation and operated as a longwave radiotelegraphy station through World War II, and during World War I became Germany's main link with the outside world when its submarine communications cables were cut. Upgraded with shortwave transmitters in the 1920s it was Germany's most advanced long range radio station, continually upgraded with the latest equipment and serving as an experimental station for Telefunken to test new technology. At the end of World War II, invading Russian troops dismantled and removed the transmitting equipment. During the Cold War it served as the GDR's (East Germany's) international shortwave station Radio Berlin International (RBI), and was the East Bloc's second most powerful radio station, disseminating Communist propaganda to other countries. Since German Reunification in 1991 it has been operated by Deutsche Telekom, Germany's state telecommunication service. The original 1920 transmitter building designed by architect Herman Muthesius is still used; it is the only remaining building designed by that architect.

Y3S was the callsign of an East German time signal station. The station was operated by the Measurements and Standards Service of the DDR in Berlin. The transmitter was located at Nauen Transmitter Station. The station transmitted in the HF band on 4.525 MHz with 5 kW. The transmission consisted of second pulses of 100 ms duration. Minute pulses were 500 ms long. Minute and hour information was transmitted in BCD code by modifying pulses of seconds 41 to 55. The vernerl time signal was transmitted on long wave from East Berlin at 11:55 for 5 minutes

The Battle of Fehrbellin was fought on June 18, 1675 (Julian calendar date, June 28th, Gregorian), between Swedish and Brandenburg-Prussian troops. The Swedes, under Count Waldemar von Wrangel (stepbrother of Riksamiral Carl Gustaf Wrangel), had invaded and occupied parts of Brandenburg from their possessions in Pomerania, but were repelled by the forces of Frederick William, the Great Elector, under his Feldmarschall Georg von Derfflinger near the town of Fehrbellin. Along with the Battle of Warsaw (1656), Fehrbellin was crucial in establishing the prestige of Frederick William and Brandenburg-Prussia's army.

Fehrbellin (German pronunciation: [ˌfeːɐ̯bɛˈliːn]) is a municipality in Germany, located 60 km NW of Berlin. It had 9,310 inhabitants as of 2005, but has since declined to 8,606 inhabitants in 2012.

The Kremmener Luch is a shallow fen, known locally as a luch, between the Glien plateau (near Berlin) in the south, and the Beetzer Heath in the north. The western Rhin flows through the Kremmener Luch, where it is called the Kremmener Rhin, or the Ruppiner Canal. The Kremmen Lake, which is embedded in the Kremmener Luch, was converted into a nature preserve in 1924. This wildlife preserve is 11 square kilometres large today, and there can one can still see cranes, beavers, and European otters. For 300 years the Kremmener Luch has been drying up, and today, the greater part of it is suitable for agricultural usage, and has thus lost its moorish character. The Kremmer Dam, scene of the decisive battle which established the Hohenzollerns as rulers of Brandenburg, goes through the Luch, the only road connection to the north, though the Kremmen-Neurippin railway line also provides access to the north.

The Dreieck Havelland (German: Autobahndreieck Havelland, abbreviated AD Havelland) is a trumpet interchange in the German state of Brandenburg in the metropolitan region of Berlin. The interchange connects the A24 coming from Hamburg to the A10, the Berlin-beltway.

Nauen station (German: Bahnhof Nauen) is a railway station located in the town of Nauen, Brandenburg, Germany. The station lies on the Berlin–Hamburg railway and the train services are operated by Deutsche Bahn and Ostdeutsche Eisenbahn.

Ruppiner See is a lake in Ostprignitz-Ruppin, Brandenburg, Germany. At an elevation of 36.5 m (120 ft), its surface area is 8.25 km2 (3.19 sq mi). It is believed to have formed as a glacial tunnel valley.

Kremmen is a town in the district of Oberhavel, in Brandenburg, Germany. It is located 15 km (10 miles) west of Oranienburg and 38 km (24 miles) northwest of Berlin. It is known mostly for its castle Ziethen. The local church contains an organ built in 1817 by Tobias Thurley.
