Anti-Slavery International

After Exploitation is a UK-based non-profit organisation using investigative methods to track the unpublished outcomes of modern slavery survivors. The group uses Freedom of Information requests to collate cases of wrongful deportation, detention, and failures by agencies to refer slavery victims for support.After Exploitation's launch report revealed that 507 potential victims of human trafficking were detained in 2018. A follow-up investigation revealed that 1,256 potential victims were detained in 2019, illustrating a two-fold increase in the number of vulnerable people detained since safeguarding functions were introduced to curb unnecessary use of Immigration Powers.

The Queen's Head is a pub at 144 Stockwell Road, Stockwell, London SW9. In 2019 it followed the growing trend towards veganism by converting to an entirely plant-based menu and drinks selection. It is a Grade II listed building, "of Regency appearance with alterations".

Lambeth Women's Project was a women's organisation located at 166a Stockwell Road in Stockwell, Lambeth, South London that provided counselling and a range of other services to women in the area.

Stockwell Skatepark, also known as "Brixton Bowls" or "Brixton Beach", is a concrete skatepark situated on the corner of Stockwell Park Walk and Stockwell Road in the borough of Lambeth in South London. Construction of the park was funded by the Lambeth Borough Council in 1978 and it has been used since then by skateboarders, BMXers, rollerskaters, and assorted other self-propelled wheeled vehicle practitioners. The park is unsupervised and free to use at all hours, and has remained consistently popular throughout its life, both with locals and with visitors from all over the world.

Lansdowne School is a special needs secondary school in Argyll Close, Stockwell, south London. The school caters to children with mixed needs, and children who have social and communication challenges alongside their learning difficulties. The school became subject to special measures following an Ofsted inspection in February 2012. A follow-up inspection in June 2012 found that progress since then had been satisfactory. The school is graded 'Good' as of its most recent inspection in November 2016.

Children at Play is a mural at the rear of the Brixton Academy on Stockwell Park Walk in Brixton. Children at Play was commissioned by Lambeth Council in the wake of the 1981 Brixton riot, it was painted between 1981 and 1982 by Stephen Pusey. The mural is intended to display 'racial harmony between Lambeth's schoolchildren'. Pusey and a council employee searched the area before finding the site, which was then the disused Astoria cinema. The mural is highly visible to residents of the Stockwell Park Estate, who were consulted as to the final design for the mural. The initial designs for the mural reflected the tensions and struggles of the people of Brixton, but these were subsequently perceived as an unwanted negative perception of the area. The final image was chosen to reflect harmony between the different races of the area. The mural has been nicknamed the 'Zombie Children' by local people. The creation of the mural was funded by the Inner City Partnership Fund, Commission for Racial Equality, Greater London Arts, Marks & Spencer, Rank Leisure Services, and Shell International limited. A plaque underneath the mural commemorates the donors. The mural cost £23,000 (equivalent to £82,005 in 2025). It was unveiled in November 1982 by the Mayor of Lambeth, Hugh Chambers. The mural is 32 meters by 9 meters in size and was painted with Keim Silicate paint, with an expected 100-year lifespan. It was restored in 2011 by artist Paul Butler and Triton Building Conservation with the assistance of the London Mural Preservation Society.

Brixton Academy (originally known as the Astoria Variety Cinema, previously known as Carling Academy Brixton, currently named O2 Academy Brixton as part of a sponsorship deal with the O2 brand) is a mid-sized concert venue located in South London, in the district of Brixton. Opening in 1929 as a cinema, the venue was converted into a discotheque in 1972 then was reborn as a concert hall in 1983. It is owned by the Academy Music Group, and has become one of London's leading music venues, hosting over 50 live albums, and winning the NME Best Venue 12 times since 1994. It has been home to several notable performances, including The Smiths' last gig (December 1986), Leftfield's June 1996 concert which set a decibel record for a live gig at 137db, and Madonna's gig in 2000, which was watched by an online audience of 9 million

Phonox is a nightclub in Brixton, London, specialising in electronic music. It occupies the building that was previously used by the club Plan B. The club opened in September 2015 with a residency by the DJ Jasper James. In 2019, DJ Magazine listed it as one of its top 100 DJ nightclubs. Both Time Out and Cosmopolitan list it as one of London's best nightclubs.

The Type Archive (formerly the Type Museum) is a collection of artefacts representing the legacy of type founding in England, whose famous type foundries and composing systems supplied the world with type in over 300 languages. The Archive was founded in 1992 by Susan Shaw in Stockwell, South London.

Bon Marché was a department store based in Brixton, London, England. It was the first purpose built department store in the city. The store was founded in 1877 by James Smith of Tooting after he won a fortune at Newmarket races. The store was named and modelled after Bon Marché in Paris. The store was not successful and Smith went bankrupt in 1892.The new owners were more successful, eventually acquiring nearby stores Quin and Axtens and Pratts of Streatham. Eventually the group was bought by Selfridges.The building went on to be used as a market, retail units, a pub, and a business centre. The store had two buildings: the main building on the corner of Brixton Road and Ferndale Road, and Topland House opposite. Topland House was originally built as staff accommodation and currently houses The Department Store bar and restaurant.Violette Szabo, an SOE secret agent during the Second World War and posthumous recipient of the George Cross, was working at Bon Marché when the war started.

Platanos College (formerly Stockwell Park High School) is a mixed secondary school located in the Stockwell area of the London Borough of Lambeth, England.The school was converted to academy status on 1 February 2011, and was previously a foundation school administered by Lambeth London Borough Council. The school continues to coordinate with Lambeth London Borough Council for admissions. Platanos College offers GCSEs as programmes of study for pupils. The school also offers a grammar school pathway for gifted pupils.

The Duke of Edinburgh is a Grade II listed public house at 204 Ferndale Road, Brixton, London, SW9 8AG. It was built in 1936–37 for Truman's Brewery, and designed by their in-house architect A. E. Sewell.It was Grade II listed in 2015 by Historic England.
