Thomasville is a city in Davidson County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 27,183 at the 2020 census. The city was once notable for its furniture industry, as were its neighbors High Point and Lexington. This Piedmont Triad community was established in 1852 and hosts the state's oldest festival, "Everybody's Day".

The Thomasville Public Library is located in Thomasville, North Carolina, United States. It is the second largest branch of the Davidson County Public Library system. Since its inception in October, 1928, the library has grown from one room in the corner of a Thomasville school housing a collection of 200 books to a 19,000 sq ft (1,800 m2) independent structure housing more than 70,000 books as well as magazines and journals, non-print materials, public access computers, and meeting rooms that are generally free for public use.

Smith Clinic is a historic office building located at Thomasville, Davidson County, North Carolina. It was built in 1939, and is a small one-story, Art Deco style brick building. The building measures approximately 34 feet wide and 104 feet deep. It features a projecting entrance bay of case concrete with a stepped parapet over the entrance. For more than 35 years after its construction, the building housed medical offices.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

The Big Chair is a landmark located in Thomasville, North Carolina. It is a large-scale replica of a Duncan Phyfe armchair built in 1950 by Thomasville Furniture Industries. Before the current chair was built, a predecessor was built in September 1922. The original chair was 13 feet 6 inches (4.11 m) tall. The old chair was unfortunately made of pine instead of lasting material, which resulted in it being worn down over time. It was torn down in 1936, and the new chair did not occupy the spot until 1950. The current chair is 30 feet (9.1 m) tall and the seat is 10 feet 6 inches (3.20 m) wide, while being made from steel and concrete. The base is sculpted from Indiana limestone. In 1960, the chair received attention as Lyndon B. Johnson stood on the chair to wave to locals as he campaigned for the 1960 United States presidential election, in which he was the winning vice-presidential candidate.

T. Austin and Ernestine L. Finch House is a historic house located in Thomasville, North Carolina. Built-in 1921, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Thomasville Railroad Passenger Depot is a historic train station located at Thomasville, Davidson County, North Carolina. It is one of the oldest remaining frame depots in the state, built between 1870 and 1871. The board-and-batten building features Victorian sawnwork detailing. Until 1912, it served as a passenger train station with the Richmond and Danville Railroad and later the Southern Railway. Due to the increase in passenger rail travel, a new brick depot was built. This depot was then moved to the north side of the tracks and served as a freight agent's office. The Southern Railway eventually gave the structure to the town. The Thomasville Historical Society raised $5,000 for its restoration in 1969. Another restoration was completed in the late 1990s. In July 2000, the Thomasville Railroad Passenger Depot became the home of the Thomasville Visitors' Center.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1981.

Thomasville Downtown Historic District is a national historic district located at Thomasville, Davidson County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 46 contributing buildings, 1 contributing site, 2 contributing structures, and 2 contributing objects in the central business district of Thomasville. It includes commercial and governmental buildings built between 1871 and 1938. Located in the district is the separately listed Thomasville Railroad Passenger Depot. Other notable contributing resources include The Big Chair (1950), the former City Hall (1938), the former Davidson County Office Building, the former United States Post Office (1926), (former) Davidson County Office Building (1957), the Dr. Orien R. Hodgin Dental Office, the North State Telephone Warehouse (c. 1940), First National Bank of Thomasville (1922), C. R. Thomas Block (c. 1900), and the Lambeth Furniture Company/Thomasville Chair Company.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Salem Street Historic District is a national historic district located at Thomasville, Davidson County, North Carolina, United States. The district encompasses 33 contributing buildings in a predominantly residential section of Thomasville. They were built between about 1861 and 1957, and include notable examples of Queen Anne and Colonial Revival style architecture. Notable buildings include the Heidelberg Church, St Paul's Episcopal Church, White House, Strickland-Long House, Morris-Harris House, and Leon A. Kress House.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

Church Street School is a historic school building for African-American students located at Thomasville, Davidson County, North Carolina. It was built in 1935–1937, and is a two-story, T-shaped, Colonial Revival style brick building. A two-story auditorium projects from the rear of the main building. Two-story wings built in 1951 flank the original building. A gymnasium was built the same year. Some funding for school construction was provided by the Public Works Administration.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Fair Grove Methodist Church Cemetery is a historic church cemetery associated with the Fair Grove Methodist Church at Thomasville, Davidson County, North Carolina. It contains approximately 400 gravestones, with the earliest gravestone dated to 1829. It features a unique collection of folk gravestones by local stonecutters erected in Davidson County in the late-18th and first half of the 19th centuries.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Shadrach Lambeth House, also known as Pennington Place and Shoaf House, is a historic home located near Thomasville, Davidson County, North Carolina. It was built about 1837, and is a two-story, three bay by two bay, Federal style brick dwelling. It has a one-story brick kitchen addition added in the late-19th century.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

East Davidson High School (commonly referred to as "East") is a public high school in Thomasville, North Carolina. The students of East Davidson are known as the Golden Eagles. The colors for East Davidson are gold, black, and white.
