Flowery Field railway station serves the Flowery Field area of Hyde, Greater Manchester, England. It is 7 miles (11 km) east of Manchester Piccadilly on the Manchester-Glossop Line. The station is managed by Northern Trains.The station was opened in 1985 and is mainly a wooden structure, similar in design to Godley railway station, which is also on the Glossop Line. The station was opened by British Rail. As part of the failed Manchester TIF bid, the station would have been refurbished with CCTV, real-time passenger information and additional seating and shelters. The bid failed after residents of Greater Manchester voted against the congestion charge. However, funding was secured from Transport for Greater Manchester in 2011, for the installation of CCTV, Customer Information Screens, a Public Announcement System and Help Points.

Hyde North is a railway station north of Hyde, Greater Manchester, England, operated by Northern Trains. Originally opened as Hyde Junction in February 1863, it was at the junction between the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway extension to New Mills (operated jointly with the Midland Railway as the Sheffield and Midland Railway Companies' Committee) and the MS&L main line through Penistone to Sheffield). For a while it saw the Midland's expresses from London. In 1875, however, a new more direct route was built through Bredbury. On 17 September 1951, the station was renamed Hyde North.

In 1875, however, a new more direct route was built through Bredbury. The substantial station buildings were demolished in 1980, with a new booking office at street level commissioned in their place. Hyde is also served by Hyde North, on the same line as Hyde Central, and by Flowery Field, Newton for Hyde and Godley on the electrified Manchester to Glossop/Hadfield line.

Clarendon Square Shopping Centre is a shopping mall in the town centre of Hyde, Greater Manchester. It holds multiple different retailers including both chain stores and independents, along the town's indoor market hall and outdoor market. The shopping centre opened in 1963 but it has since been redeveloped and renamed. It consists of the main retail mall, the Market Hall, along with additional sections of mall at the eastern-end. It is nearby the other major shopping areas of the town centre, such as Market Place and Market Street, and it is also close to the towns two major supermarkets, Asda and Morrisons.

It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Mottram, the archdeaconry of Macclesfield, and the diocese of Chester. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. It was a Commissioners' church, having received a grant towards its construction from the Church Building Commission.

The Astley Deep Pit disaster was a mining accident at the Astley Deep Pit, in Dukinfield, Cheshire, England, that took place on 14 April 1874, killing 54 men and boys. Astley Deep Pit was a coal mine started around 1845 to work the seam of coal known as the "Lancashire Black Mine". When finished, it was supposedly the deepest coal-mine in Britain and cost £100,000 to sink.
