Bad Zwischenahn

Bad Zwischenahn (German: Bahnhof Bad Zwischenahn) is a railway station located in Bad Zwischenahn, Germany. The station is located on the Oldenburg–Leer railway. The train services are operated by Deutsche Bahn and NordWestBahn.

is a lake in Ammerland, Lower Saxony, Germany. It is at an elevation of approximately 5 meters, and has a surface area of 5.5 km2. The town of Bad Zwischenahn is located on the southern end of the lake, Rostrup on the western end, and Dreibergen on the northern end. It is the third largest lake in Lower Saxony. The lake is around 6 meters deep at its deepest point, and has an average depth of 3 meters. It emerged 11,000 years ago, after the collapse of a salt dome.The Zwischenahner Meer is navigable, and regular ferry services began in 1874. It has also been home to the so-called Weiße Flotte (White Fleet) since 1987. The three ships run on regularly scheduled routes between the different landing piers along the lakeside. The piers are located in Bad Zwischenahn, Rostrup, and Dreibergen. Sailing, boating, and other recreational water sports are also popular past times. The lake has made Bad Zwischenahn a very popular tourist destination, as the town hosts numerous spa facilities.

It is situated approximately 25 km northwest of Oldenburg. It is known for hosting the Rhodo Festival, the biggest exhibition of rhododendrons in Europe. The festival is hosted every four years (next time in 2023). The villages of Burgforde, Eggeloge, Felde, Fikensolt, Garnholt, Gießelhorst, Halsbek, Halstrup, Hollriede, Hollwege, Hollwegerfeld, Hüllstede, Ihausen, Ihorst, Karlshof, Linswege, Linswegerfeld, Mansie, Lindern, Moorburg, Neuengland, Ocholt, Ocholterfeld, Ollenharde, Petersfeld, Tarbarg, Torsholt, Westerloy, Westerloyerfeld and Westerstederfeld are part of Westerstede. The railway station of Westerstede is located in the village of Ocholt, 6 km south of the town. Trains from and to Leer and Oldenburg halt there every hour. The community (and the whole Ammerland region) is famous for its tree nurseries. They grow rhododendrons that are sold outside Germany as well. The slightly acid peat soil is very suitable for this type of horticulture. Near Linswege village, 7 km north-east of Westerstede, a Rhododendron Park has been established next to a beautiful wooded area. The park is open to visitors in May and June every year.

The wind farm is about 5 km away from the Innenjade. It is known for its range of types of wind turbines including the Aeolus II and Enercon E-112 and the single-blade MBB Monopteros M50 from different manufacturers.
