Kentmere

St Cuthbert's Church, Kentmere is a Grade II listed parish church in the Church of England in Kentmere, Cumbria. Its benefice is united with that of St Martin's Church, Bowness-on-Windermere; St Anne's Church, Ings; St James' Church, Staveley; Jesus Church, Troutbeck and St Mary's Church, Windermere.

Green Quarter Fell is an upland area in the east of the English Lake District, near Kentmere village, Cumbria. It is the subject of a chapter of Wainwright's book The Outlying Fells of Lakeland. Wainwright's walk is an anticlockwise circuit from Kentmere, reaching the summit of Hollow Moor at 1,394 feet (425 m) and a nameless summit at 1,370 feet (420 m) and making a detour to admire the tarn of Skeggles Water. He says that the walk offers: "... a perfectly-balanced and lovely view of upper Kentmere ... that cries aloud for a camera."

Sallows is a fell in the English Lake District, rising between the valleys of Kentmere and Troutbeck. It is the highest point in the upland area to the south of Garburn Pass, variously termed Kentmere Park and Applethwaite Common on Ordnance Survey maps.

Shipman Knotts is a fell in the English Lake District in Cumbria, England. It reaches a height of 587 metres (1,926 ft) and is situated in one of the quieter areas of the national park, 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) north-east of Kentmere village. Although not one of the best-known Lake District fells (and strictly speaking it is just the southern shoulder of Kentmere Pike), it earned a separate chapter in Alfred Wainwright’s Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells due to “Its characteristic roughness . . . rocky outcrops are everywhere on its steep slopes”.

High Knott, marked on some Ordnance Survey maps as Williamson's Monument, is a hill in the eastern part of the English Lake District, near Staveley, Cumbria. The monument on its summit was built by the Reverend T. Williamson in 1803, in memory of his father Thomas Williamson, who had climbed the fell every day before breakfast. The fell is the subject of a chapter of Wainwright's book The Outlying Fells of Lakeland. It reaches 901 feet (275 m) and Wainwright's route starts near the 17th-century Ulthwaite Bridge on the River Kent, climbing High Knott and then making a clockwise circuit to the early British village site at Hugill and "over the pleasant heights on the west side of mid-Kentmere". Access to the summit is (at May 2016) forbidden by the landowner.

Yoke is a fell in the Lake District in Cumbria, England. It has a height of 706 m (2,316 ft) and is situated in the far eastern sector of the national park, 6½ kilometres (4 miles) ENE of the town of Ambleside. Yoke is the southern extremity of the long ridge that runs southwards from the fell of High Street. Yoke’s name is believed to be derived from the Old English language word geoc which is similar to the German word joch meaning mountain ridge.

Hugill Fell is a hill in the English Lake District, near Staveley, Cumbria, on the western side of the Kentmere valley. It is the subject of a chapter of Wainwright's book The Outlying Fells of Lakeland. It reaches 840 feet (260 m) and Wainwright's walk is an ascent from Staveley and return on the same route. There is a cairn on the summit.

Sadgill is a hamlet in Longsleddale, Cumbria, England. It is a divided settlement, also containing Low Sadgill.

Sour Howes is a small fell in the English Lake District. It is situated five kilometres east of Ambleside, between the Troutbeck and Kentmere valleys and is one of the two separate fells on Applethwaite Common (the other being Sallows).

Ill Bell is a fell in the English Lake District, in the county of Cumbria, standing on the narrow ridge between the valleys of Kentmere and Troutbeck.

Reston Scar is a fell in the Lake District of Cumbria, England. It overlooks the north side of Staveley village, and is listed among Alfred Wainwright's "Outlying Fells of Lakeland" guide. The summit offers good views of the Coniston Fells, the Sca Fells and the Langdale Pikes. The main footpath up to the summit from Staveley passes to the south of Kemp Tarn, the largest of several ponds on the Scar. The summit is at 834 feet (254 m) and has a cairn. In his book The Outlying Fells of Lakeland, Wainwright describes the ascent of Reston Scar from Staveley and calls the fell "a fine place for a siesta on a sunny day".

Hugill is a civil parish in the South Lakeland district of the English county of Cumbria. Hugill includes the village of Ings and the hamlets of Grassgarth, and Reston plus a large part of the village of Staveley and the west bank of the River Kent north of Barley Bridge. It was formerly a part of the Barony of Kendal. In the 2001 census the parish had a population of 416, increasing at the 2011 census to 446. Approximately 60% of the population live in Staveley or the Kent valley. In the 1870s, Hugill was described as The township lies on the Kendal and Windermere railway, 2 miles E of Windermere; and contains the hamlets of Ings, Grass-Garth, and BorwickFold. Reston Scar is a prominent feature in the valley.Staveley with Ings Parish Council represents the three civil parishes of Hugill, Nether Staveley and Over Staveley. It has produced two ambitious Parish Plans, which have set out "aspirations for the future." that are concerned with improving the environment, public transport, highways, village facilities housing and general development
