Pililla Church

Pililla (), officially the Municipality of Pililla (Tagalog: Bayan ng Pililla), is a 1st class municipality in the province of Rizal, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 71,535 people. It is surrounded by farms, small mountains, plains, and trees. Pililla is known as the Green Field Municipality of Rizal. Pililla has preserved some religious and non-religious traditions such as the Santa Cruzan or Flores de Mayo, wherein men and women walk all over town with their gowns. Town Fiesta during the month of July is being visited by people from the city to experience the celebrations especially the amateur shows at night. Like other towns, Pililla holds basketball league competitions for youth during summer. Pililla is also a destination for road cyclists because of its asphalted road, specifically in Sitio Bugarin in Barangay Halayhayin. Pililla is 40 kilometres (25 mi) from Antipolo and 57 kilometres (35 mi) from Manila.

Tanay, officially the Municipality of Tanay (Tagalog: Bayan ng Tanay IPA: [tɐˈnaɪ]), is a 1st class municipality in the province of Rizal, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 139,420 people.Tanay is located 37 kilometres (23 mi) from Antipolo and 54 kilometres (34 mi) from Manila. It contains portions of the Sierra Madre Mountains and is bordered by Antipolo in the north-west, Baras, Morong and Teresa in the west, General Nakar (Quezon Province) in the east, and Pililla, Santa Maria (Laguna province) as well as the lake Laguna de Bay in the south. It is the epicenter of the Tanay Tagalog dialect, which has the deepest modern Tagalog words in the Tagalog language and is the only endangered Tagalog dialect.

Baras, officially the Municipality of Baras (Tagalog: Bayan ng Baras), is a 4th class municipality in the province of Rizal, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 87,637 people.Baras is 32 kilometres (20 mi) from Antipolo and 49 kilometres (30 mi) from Manila.

The Diocesan Shrine and Parish of St. Joseph, also known as Baras Church, is a Roman Catholic church located in Baras, Rizal, Philippines, where the miraculous centuries-old image of San Jose de Baras (Spanish: El Glorioso Patriarca Señor San José de Baras) is enshrined. The church is known to be the oldest parish dedicated to Saint Joseph in the Southern Tagalog Region.

Saint Ildefonsus of Toledo Parish Church (Spanish: Iglesia Parroquial de San Ildefonso de Toledo), commonly known as the Tanay Church, is a Roman Catholic church located in the town of Tanay, Rizal in the Philippines. The construction of the present church was begun in 1773 and was completed after ten years in 1783. In 2001, it was declared as a National Cultural Treasure Church by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts. It is also among the seven Jubilee churches of the Diocese of Antipolo.

The Morong River (Filipino: Ilog ng Morong), also known as the Morong–Teresa River, is a river system in Rizal, Philippines. It is one of 21 major tributaries of Laguna de Bay. It covers 14 barangays and stretches 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) from Antipolo down to Teresa, Rizal, Morong, Rizal and finally to Laguna de Bay. The Morong River sub-basin has a drainage area of 70.21 square kilometres (27.11 sq mi).On 1991, a study noted that eutrophication in Laguna de Bay could be attributed to nutrients brought to the lake as a result of the tremendous deterioration of the Morong River and the San Pedro River. In the case of the Morong River, this increase was said to be a result of draining effluents from hog farms.A 1994 cleanup drive initiated by the Laguna Lake Development Authority in cooperation with the local communities and local government units of Antipolo, Morong, and Teresa removed some seven truckloads of garbage and cleared a three-kilometre (1.9 mi) portion of the river from water lilies blocking the waterway.

Laguna Caldera is a potentially active volcanic caldera and a geographical depression in Rizal, Philippines. It is broadly elliptical in shape, with dimensions of 20 by 10 km. It has a summit (Mount Sembrano) elevation of 743 metres (2,438 ft). The caldera forms the middle lobe of Laguna de Bay, bound by the Morong Peninsula and Talim Island to the west, and the Jalajala Peninsula to the east. The caldera may have formed in two stages about 1 million and 27,000-29,000 years ago, during which time at least two major explosive eruptions took place. It is unknown when the Laguna Caldera last erupted but it may have been active during the Holocene. Deposits from the caldera form thick ignimbrite sheets in Rizal, Metro Manila, Laguna, and Bulacan. Remnants of volcanic activity include undated maars at the southern end of Talim Island and a solfatara field on nearby Mount Sembrano. Given the current shape of the lake and the caldera, and how it was once connected to Manila Bay as evidenced by its ground drill geology, its formation is speculated to have been a result of an even earlier cataclysmic eruption, pointing to a possibility that it was once a volcano of considerable elevation that exploded, similar to Krakatoa.

Morong, officially the Municipality of Morong (Tagalog: Bayan ng Morong), is a 2nd class municipality located in the province of Rizal, Philippines. As per the 2020 census, Morong has a population of 71,151 people.The town is also known for promoting education as its priority, with the vision "Una Ang Edukasyon" (Education First). During the early-1970s and early-1990s, Morong became a center of education with students from nearby towns of Rizal coming to study in the numerous academic institutions situated in the town. Some popular town attraction are the St. Jerome's Parish Church built in the Spanish Era as well as the featuring side dish called balaw-balaw. Morong is 28 kilometres (17 mi) from Antipolo and 45 kilometres (28 mi) from Manila.

St. Jerome Parish Church (also known as Morong Church) is a Roman Catholic church located in Morong, Rizal, Philippines. It was built during the Spanish period in the country, with stones from a hill called Kay Ngaya; lime from the stones of the mountain Kay Maputi; and sand and gravel from Morong River.

Tomas Claudio Memorial Elementary School, formerly called Tomas Claudio Memorial School, was constructed in 1921 in honor of Private Tomas Mateo Claudio, the first Filipino hero of Morong, Rizal, in the Philippines, who died during World War I in France. The school is considered the Alma Mater of most Moronguenos.

Cardona, officially the Municipality of Cardona (Tagalog: Bayan ng Cardona), is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Rizal, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 50,143 people.Cardona is part of the 2nd Congressional District of Rizal. Cardona is 23 kilometres (14 mi) from Antipolo and 40 kilometres (25 mi) from Manila. With the continuous expansion of Metro Manila, the municipality is now part of Manila's conurbation which reaches Cardona in its easternmost part. In 1855, Cardona was created as a town of the District of Morong, with boundaries set in 1857. Later in June 1901, Cardona formed part of the newly created Province of Rizal through Act 137 promulgated by the Philippine Commission. In 1903, Act 942 annexed the town to the Municipality of Morong. Eleven years then, the Executive Order 108 issued by Governor-General Francis Burton Harrison has established the town as an independent municipality.

Morong High School in Morong, Rizal was the first high school in the Philippines to be established outside the provincial capital. It was converted to a state college, named as Rizal Polytechnic College in 1995 through Republic Act 7933 and later on merged with Rizal State College and the Rizal Technological University Antipolo Annex and became part of the present University of Rizal System - Morong Campus.
